(December)
It was the first week of December, I was coming up to 6 months pregnant and my birthday was a few days away.
Jughead and ally had been very secretive over the last few days. It was currently Friday and I was just about to leave to pick Ally up when my phone rang, I smiled when Jugheads face popped up on my screen:
Betty: hi
Jughead: hi sweetheart, how are you?
Betty: I'm good, I'm just going to get Ally from school. Everything alright?
Jughead: yeah, I'm all good. I'm just calling to let you know that Veronica, Charlie and Archie are all coming round for dinner tonight
Betty: oh okay, normally they come on Monday?
Jughead: I know but it's your birthday on Monday so we won't have our normal dinner.
Betty: I thought we agreed no fuss
Jughead: that's what I said about my birthday but you did anyway, guess neither of us seem to listen
Betty: I hate you
Jughead: no you don't, but while I've got you. I'm heading into town to collect the crib, do you need me to grab anything else while I'm there?
Betty: no I think I'm good
Jughead: okay, i should be home by 5. Give ally a kiss for me
Betty: always, see you later
Jughead: I love you, bye
I put the phone down and then left to collect ally from school. She was very excited to see me and was talking the whole way home about something that happened at school.
When we got home she ran straight upstairs to her room and went to play, I prepared her a snack while settling on the sofa with my book waiting for Jughead to get home.
I soon set to making ally some dinner and got her settled at the table before handing her, her spaghetti. She happily ate it and I sat next to her, a hand on my stomach and smiling at my baby girl who seemed to be getting so big, so fast.
20 minutes later Jughead walked in carrying a box, he set it down before heading over to the kitchen where I was sitting with Ally 'hey, how my girls doing?' Ally looked over at him and smiled 'hi daddy' she said round her mouthful of pasta. I laughed and so did he while he kissed the top of her head 'hey princess' he said while standing behind me and wrapping arms over my shoulders. I lent back and I said 'how was work?' He shrugged and said 'boring without you' I laughed and said 'you're the one who didn't want me to work behind the bar now I'm 6 months' he sighed and said 'but I didn't realise you wouldn't come see me' I lent my head back to see his pout making me laugh. 'you're just a big baby' he smiled and then kissed my lips 'no, I just miss you' I smirked and said 'I'll come tomorrow' he placed another kiss to my lips before he said 'how's my boy doing?' His hand overlapping mine on my stomach 'he's good, been kicking a lot today' he laughed when a kick came from underneath my hand.
Ally soon finished her dinner and Jughead cleared her dinner plate up, ally was on the sofa when I came back into the room. I checked she was okay before walking into the kitchen to find Jughead finishing with her dinner plates. I wrapped my arms around his waist, my stomach getting in the way, he laughed and said 'I seem to have a baby kicking my back' I scoffed and said 'you're the one who wanted a baby' he smiled and turned to me. 'Hey, it takes two and you were the one who bought it up' I laughed and then eased into his touch, his lips pressed to my forehead 'when's your sister getting here?' He rubbed my arm and said 'soon, she said they would get here for around 6. She wanted to see Ally before she went to bed' i nodded and said 'well then, best get dinner ready' I kissed his lips and started to make the lasagna while Jughead finished washing up after ally's dinner.
Soon ally walked into the kitchen and she said 'daddy, can I have biscuit?' He smiled and said 'yeah sure' he grabbed the biscuit jar and said 'take 2 sweetheart' she picked out 2 chocolate coated biscuits and then raised her arms. He put the jar down and then picked Ally up and held her on his hip. She smiled and then said 'come and sit on sofa' he kissed her cheek and then said 'I would sweetheart but mummy needs some help' she frowned and nodded before saying quietly 'okay, I go back to sofa now' he kissed her cheek and when she was on the floor she walked slowly back into the lounge. I smiled at him and said 'jug I'm fine, dinners almost done. Go and sit with her' he looked at me and said 'are you sure?' I nodded and said 'I'm 6 months pregnant, I'm not an invalid' he laughed and then kissed my lips gently 'okay, I'll be in the lounge if you need anything' I nodded and watched as he headed into the lounge and sat with Ally.
When diner was in the oven, I headed into the lounge. Ally had climbed onto Jugheads lap and he was hugging her close, her focus was on the tv but when the doorbell rang she sat up 'who here mummy?' Jughead brushed the hair from her face and said 'auntie Veronica, uncle Archie and uncle Charlie are here, do you want to get it?' She nodded eagerly and ran to the door opening it wide. I shortly followed and she was hugging Veronicas legs tightly, she soon moved on to greet Archie as Veronica walked inside. She hugged me and said 'well don't you just look amazing' I smiled and said 'hey V' she smiled and said 'how you feeling?' I shrugged and said 'I'm okay, tired and everything is starting to ache' she laughed and then said 'understandable but in 3 months time it would all have been worth it' I rolled my eyes and then welcomed Charlie and Archie inside.
We were sitting on the sofa, ally was lying next to Veronica when she moved over to where I was sitting with Jughead. She climbed on the the sofa and onto Jugheads lap, his attention faded to Ally who was now settling on his chest. I brushed the hair from her face and I whispered 'I think it's bed time' Jughead smiled and then said 'say goodnight to everyone and then I can read you a story' she nodded and made her way round everyone. Jughead carried her upstairs and then I turned back to Veronica, she was watching Jughead and when he was out of ear shot she said 'is he okay? Like is he happy today? No anger in the last few days?' I looked at her with my eyebrows furrowed 'he's been fine, happy. Why?' She bit her lip and I rested my head in my hands 'it's because your about to change that' I sighed and Veronica said 'it's nothing bad but we don't know how jug will take it' I looked up and I said 'we? You all know' they all nodded and then I said 'tell me, tell me now before he comes downstairs' Veronica nodded and then Charlie started talking 'I... um me and...' he couldn't form a sentence and I looked up at him 'spit it out before he gets back otherwise I can't help you' he sighed and nodded is head. 'I'm kind of... dating...' but he stopped talking and a slight smile came over my face. 'Jellybean, yeah I know' I said quietly, his eyes widened and he said 'wait... wha... how did you find out?' I smiled and said 'Charlie, she's hardly ever here and she's always at Veronicas. I may be pregnant and have baby brain half the time but I'm not stupid. And to make it easier on you, I have already spoken to Jughead about it' Charlie took a deep breath 'oh god' he whispered underneath his breath. I laughed slightly and then said 'you don't need to worry Charlie, we were wondering how long it would take you to actually come and tell him' he ran his hands over his face and then said 'how long have you known?' I smiled and said 'a few weeks, if it went on any longer he was going to say something to you' he let out a slight laugh and then said 'so I've been panicking for nothing' I smiled and said 'I didn't say he was okay with it, but I have talked him down from beating the crap out of you' he sighed and then I said 'he's okay, he's learning to get over it. He's in dad mode and I think that's helped, if you show how much you care about her he'll except it some more. Just give him some time' Charlie nodded and then Veronica said 'I told you not to worry about it' I laughed and said 'you should listen to Veronica' he laughed and said 'you've really known for a few weeks?' I smiled and said 'yeah and why couldn't you have held out for just one more week' they all gave me weird looks and then Jughead came downstairs.
Just before he sat down on the sofa I said 'please may you grab my bag for me, it's just by the door' he nodded and passed me the bag before sitting next to me. I grabbed my purse and took out a 20, I passed it to Jughead and a smile broke out on his face. 'He broke?' He said with a smugness to his voice, I nodded and said 'don't look so smug' he laughed and then pocketed the money before kissing my cheek. 'Thank you' he said, I smirked and then I heard Charlie say 'you... you had a bet going?' Jughead nodded and said 'after Betty mentioned you and Jellybean everything started to make sense. It had already been a few weeks so I gave it 3 more before you broke and would need to tell me without feeling guilty. Betty had a month but she underestimated how well I know you' Veronica and Archie were trying to hold back a laugh and Charlie said 'I've been stressing about this for weeks...' Jughead sat up and he said 'we know, you had been coming around less and tried to spend all your time with ally. If I came into the room you would try and leave, I knew something was wrong and then Betty connected all the dots. I'm not going to deny that I was angry, it earned me a few nights on the sofa but I started to get over it. Mainly because I wanted to sleep in my bed again but...' I looked at him and raised my eyes brows, 'the sofas still here' I said quietly. He gave a small laugh before saying '...I'm okay with it but please just not in front of me' Charlie nodded and said 'you're really not mad?' Jughead smiled and said 'I always wanted my sisters to be happy. To be with people who I know would treat them right and I know that you will. But you also know what I will do if you hurt her. I gave the same talk to Archie when him and Veronica got together but I know I don't need to give it to you because you know how much I love my sisters and what I will do if someone hurts them. So... just don't hurt her and you can also tell jelly to stop avoiding me now' Charlie laughed and then said 'thanks jug, it really does mean a lot' Jughead nodded and said 'seems I've turned soft' Veronica smiled and said 'we have Betty to thank for that' I smiled and then looked at Jughead. He was smiling and said 'most definitely' I laughed and said 'your just hoping, from the comment you made, I'm not going to make you sleep on the sofa again' he smiled and then nodded 'I love you' he said quietly while inching his head towards mine, I smiled and said 'nice try, sheets are in the cupboard' he groaned and pulled away. He looked at Charlie 'this is your fault' Charlie tried not to laugh and then said 'hey, got nothing to do with me' I laughed and then moved to stand up. Jughead helped me and then I said 'you might be able to redeem yourself' he smirked at me and then I heard him get lost in conversation with everyone else. There laughs echoed the room while I headed to finish dinner for my family.
