A DAY BEFORE...
"chenle!" ten bellowed from across the room, chenle quickly skidding towards him
"i found them" ten pointed at the location of a car park
"winwin too?" chenle asked, scanning over the red dot in the middle of a map.
"they're in the same spot..." ten's voice trailed off "if hyejin's with starship that would mean winwins with starship...but he's obviously not kidnapped since winwin doesn't have anything starship wants which means-"
"winwin that bas-"
"we don't know for sure yet" ten steadied his breathing, zooming into the picture
"there's no other explanation for it. winwin got closer to hyejin only to frame her in the end. guess what, he tricked all of us, including taeyong. hyejin was innocent ten, i'm telling you she is innocent. i saw that black bag in inhos hand before, she's got nothing to do with it" he ranted
"woah woah woah what?" ten exclaimed "but winwins not like that"
"how do you know who he really is?"
silence
ten and chenle were stuck in a dilemma. as much as they refuse to believe it, it was true. winwin had two faces and it was time for NCT to start believing the innocent and banishing the guilty.
"we need to go there now" chenle stood up, searching for his gun
"you can't go alone and all the combat members are occupied with taeyong" ten explained "obviously me, kun and jisung can't fight to save our lives"
"i'll go alone" he deadpanned, not being about to locate his knife "god damnit"
"chenle calm down, you need to stop and think-"
"don't tell me what to do" and chenle grabbed his earpiece from the box, looping it around his ear then taking off without even checking if it's connected. luckily, it was and a screen lit up on tens computer.
"love can really blind some people huh"

"get the fuck away from her" chenles fist was clenched so tightly together marks were beginning to appear on his palm. hyejin glanced upwards, her mouth falling into an o. attempting to stand up—falling anyways—she scrambled desperately to try and tell chenle not to do something on an impulse
"chenle please don't-" and one of the men grabbed her hair and yanked her to stand on her feet. chenle stepped forward in fury, his eyes drowning with a darkened aura "don't fucking touch her"
"guess who joined us" inho tutted, throwing the match on the ground. winwin had always came to meet chenle's eyes, his face morphing into shock. chenle didn't have the time to deal with winwin right now; he only needed hyejin to be safe
"alone i see?" inho looked around to see any of NCT with him, to his advance there was no one whatsoever.
"let her go" chenle demanded
"not before we get the starship case" inho walked towards chenle.
"i'll give you anything, just leave her out of it" chenle locked eyes with the girl who was fervently shaking her head. she didn't want to ruin the whole of NCT because of her petty life.
"you really do care about this one" inho walked over to hyejin, placing his hand on her cheek. she could only muster up the energy to glare at him. if chenle didn't have enough anger issues already, he was also possessive when it came to everything so this only caused his blood to boil even more
"wu inho" his voice echoed, his lips pulled down in a scowl that looked like he was seconds away from breaking.
"i wonder what it would be like to..." inho neared her face so that his lips were centimetres from hers. she tried to pushed him away, but her arms were pulled back. chenle lunged at him, only to have 4 men hold him back.
"all i need is the case, then everyone is free to go" inho stood back up, twirling a knife around his finger.
"ok" chenle nodded "take it. just don't hurt her, please" he was begging at this point, his heart clenching with all the pain and torture this all was. it was tormenting, and left a scar in his mind
"beg" inho chuckled, pointing at the ground.
"chenle don't-" but her eyes were now trained only a body that was beginning to sink into the floor, his knees against the concrete and his hands pressed together.
anyone could tell the boy was close to breaking.

"ten, who are you monitoring?" taeyong walked into the room with ten stressfully rubbing his brow.
"huh?" he quickly closed the software
"i saw it" taeyong pointed at the screen "who are you monitoring"
"i uh" ten fiddled with his fingers "myself?". scoffing, taeyong went to grab the mouse but ten was quick to pull it away from him.
"it's nothing" ten smiled
"ten, you don't hide things with your leader" taeyong leant forward to grab the mouse, ten pulling away once again
"no no, seriously it's nothing" ten laugh was the fakest thing on the planet
"it's chenle isnt it" taeyong sighed. it was the obvious answer anyways
"uhhh" ten scratched the back of his head
"you found hyejin?" taeyong asked, looking at a map in front of ten. ten realising, he closed that software too
"no..." he stuttered "we found winwin"
"you found both of them?" taeyong was trying not to laugh at ten's futile attempt to persuade him
"perhaps"
"chenle's alone with a base full of members!?" taeyong exclaimed. chenle was powerful, but not powerful enough to defeat about 30 members at once
"without a gun too" ten murmured
"what!?" taeyong slammed his hand against the table "is that boy dumb or something?"
"i've asked myself that too you know" he laughed sheepishly
"hook mark, johnny, lucas, jaehyun and haechan's earpiece up" taeyong grabbed his earpiece as rushed to the weapon cabinet "get winwin- wait never mind"
ten immediately got to work, bringing up the screen and connecting the earpieces while taeyong spoke into his watch.
"mark, johnny, lucas, jaehyun and haechan, ten's office now. taeil, start the car"

"do it chenle, beg" inho laughed with his usual devilish essence, watching how pathetically chenle had gotten into his knees
"please" he rubbed his hands together "please don't hurt her. i'm begging you". this was the first time chenle had ever bowed down to anyone. it felt uncomfortable, but he was beyond desperate
"who would have thought, the almighty chenle bowing down to me" inho walked circled the area, the knife still in hand
"inho i'll give you the files, just let her go first" chenle forced out. a voice from his earpiece buzzed in but before he could even listen to a word, it was ripped out of his ear to be crushed to the ground.
"don't give the files to him chenle" hyejin voiced, earning a kick to the stomach
"no one told you to talk" inho sneered as chenle jolted up to his feet "inho i said don't touch her"
"aw, i like to do what i want" inho pushed her head downwards so she was shoved to the ground, her elbow clashing with the concrete. chenle's eyes widened, his body taking a step forward to reach out.
"i like seeing her so pathetic" inho kicked her as she was squirming in the floor, chenle now bolting towards her. arms were the only thing separating the two forbidden lovers.
using all her energy, she pulled herself up and grabbed the knife from inho, the guns from inhos members now all pulled out to face her.
"you refused to kill me quick" she breathed, the knife held to her own throat
"hyejin put that down" chenle screamed, his voice cracking with bottled up tears. he's never cried before, perhaps this would be a first
smiling, she exhaled through her nose sharply, looking at chenle's body thrashing against the men.
"playing a game now are we?"
inho inched near her, her spinning around to point the knife at him
"you can't kill me" inho gestured at everyone else with guns "he'll die". her eyes locked onto chenle's who had a gun now pointed to his head.
lowering the knife, she turned back to chenle, a laugh radiating from her mouth.
"hey chenle?" she held the knife to her throat
"no...no no no please hyejin" chenle pleaded with so much pain in his eyes she could almost feel it in herself
"maybe i won't need that money after all"
