A/N: Hello my wonderful human beings, I'm back and I sincerely apologize for the major delay in chapters/updates, but I have my reasons as to why I have been so inactive, and one of those reasons just so happens to be school. I threw this chapter together pretty quickly, but I hope you like it and I promise I'll have more actual Avengers stuff out and not just Peter/Shuri.

The walk to Tia's wasn't far but to be fair it was a decent way into the town, and her bakery and cafe were the best ones in Wakanda. Though a lot of people passed her corner store up, the royal family seemed to be very fond of the way she cooked, and often visited her or had deliveries made to the castle. Today was a different day though, Shuri was dragging Peter along with her and he was equally excited to try something new for once, that was genuinely good for him.
Peter had gotten completely used to Shuri getting him to try new places, but they'd always been either a fast-food restaurant or a sweet shop, and he liked all those things, but he was glad she was taking a more healthy route so he wouldn't be so overwhelmed with sugar and his senses wouldn't spike. He had been here before but he'd never actually eaten anything from the cafe because he'd always either been picking up things for the castle or just buying Shuri whatever she wanted.
" You know Shuri, I've never actually eaten here before," Peter said looking over to his girlfriend as they walked hand in hand down a dirt road that led them into the not-so-busy end of town. Shuri's eyes went wide and her mouth fell open, " Are you serious?! You've never eaten at Tia's?! We go there all the time," she squeaked out while looking over at Peter. He unlinked their hands and pulled her closer, wrapping his arm around her waist as they walked, " Yeah, you've always gotten something from her, but I've never tried anything from her place," he said suppressing a grin as Shuri began to go on and on about how he had to try whatever she got.
The small part of town came into view and Peter felt Shuri get a bounce in her step as she saw her favorite place, " I love you so much you weirdo," he said as he pressed a kiss on her forehead. Shuri smiled and leaned up and kissed him properly before grabbing his hand and taking off faster to get to the cafe, " I love you too, you even bigger weirdo," she said as they made their way onto the sidewalk where the cafe was.
The smell of fresh coffee and breakfast lingered in the air as they stepped into Tia's and Shuri couldn't help but bounce on her heels, " I love this place so much," she said as she stepped up to the counter and Tia came out from the back. " Hello Princess, the usual?" Tia said with a smile as she stepped to the register, Shuri laughed and replied, " Yes the usual, and Tia I told you, you can drop the formalities." Peter smiled and pulled out his wallet to grab the credit card Tony gave him to pay, " The total is $5.75 darling," Tia said to the 2 of them. Shuri went to pull her card out when Peter bumped her hand out of the way and swiped his card, " I could have paid for that ya know," she said putting her card up and crossing her arms, " But you'll never have too, ya know," Peter replied as he put his card away.
Tia smiled at them and leaned forward to Shuri before whispering, " Keep him, can't find many like him," causing Shuri to smile and look over to Peter who had grabbed them a seat beside the window. " I know, I guess he's my special one," She said smiling over the counter to Tia who winked at her and went to get her food ready for her.
" Did you know that, if you read a book, you gain knowledge about something, no matter what you read?" Peter said as Shuri sat down in front of him, she smiled and shook her head, " I really didn't know that," she said jokingly. Peter rolled his eyes playfully and poked her nose, " Of course you knew that you know everything, sometimes anyway," he said and Shuri made a fake offended face before mocking him. They continued to play back and forth until Tia bought Shuri her drink and a strawberry muffin that she's obsessed with.
" You have to try the drink at least, it's healthy I think," She said trying to coax Peter into trying something new for the day, " Ok ok, if I try the drink, you have to allow us to spend the rest of the day together just chilling out because I haven't had a chill day in 3 months," he said finally giving in but at a cost. Shuri pretended to think for a minute before sliding the dragon fruit drink over to him, " You've struck yourself a deal Parker, now try it," she said glaring at him.
Peter laughed knowing Shuri was as threatening as a packing peanut when it comes to him, he took a drink of the tea infused with dragon fruit and was actually surprised it wasn't full of sugar. " That's actually really good, and there isn't a lot of sugar in it so it won't send my senses everywhere," Peter said handing Shuri her drink back, " Can I say it? I think I can say it," she questioned with a sparkle in her eye. Before Peter could answer Shuri poked his nose and said, " I told you so love," which caused him to start laughing slightly. " Yes you did, now let's go back and chill all day, shoes aren't comfortable," Peter said as they stood up and left the table, heading for the door.
The bell rang as they left the small café and Shuri was filled with delight as she and Peter made their way back to the dirt road that they entered on. The people of Wakanda were just now beginning to enter the town and the hustle and bustle of every day life began to kick in, and the streets began to fill with many people of all ages.
Peter smiled looking back at the town as they took the last turn before getting back onto their path to the castle, " I really love this place, it doesn't matter where you go everyone knows everyone, and it's so organized," he stated as he shoved his hands in his pockets as he walked. Shuri giggled and pulled his right hand out of his pocket to link their arms, " I guess it is a pretty close place, I mean who couldn't love these people, they're so hard working all the time," she beamed with pride for her people. " You're gonna make a incredible queen one day you know that?" Peter said looking over at her with a proud smile, Shuri snickered and lowered her head, " I can do my best, which may not always be good enough, but I will always do what's best for my people," she said not looking at Peter.
They continued their walk, talking about the most random things on the way home, all the way from the best meme to the most political mistake someone in high power could make. They talked about how the plants swayed with the breeze, and how the animals seemed to have different moods depending on the weather. How the life in Wakanda is different than life in New York, and what they both loved and hated about each way of life. Their conversations could go from the most hilariously random topic to a serious debate in no time and neither one of them cared much.
" I see the castle, finally my feet hurt," Peter whined leaning on Shuri dramatically earning a laugh from her, " Wow, and I thought Bucky and Sam were dramatic," she said playfully and shoved his weight off of her and onto his own feet. Peter put a hand on his chest and faked a pained expression, " H-how dare you? I thought you loved me," he said wiping imaginary tears off his face. Shuri began to laugh loudly and grabbed his hand before taking off and running towards the beautiful castle.
Finally making in to the castle they stop running and begin to catch their breath outside one of the entrances. " I had no idea you could run like that, what'd you do? Track?" Peter said finally catching his breath as Shuri had managed to catch hers and stand up straight, " Yeah, something like that anyway," she replied smirking and turning around to unlock the door and so they could pull themselves inside.
As they walked inside the castle and made their way through the hallway, T'Challa noticed them and shouted for them, " Shuri! Peter! Where have you been this lovely morning?" he said smiling at them. Shuri groaned realizing they were gonna have to talk to her brother, " Brother, how are you? We went to Tia's and ate this morning before the crowds came in," she said sweetly to him. T'Challa smiled at her and then looked to Peter, " I'm surprised you aren't in the labs working on something new, but I'm glad your letting loose for once," he said and caused Peter to crack a grin his way. " I really thought we'd be creating something new in the labs too, but I guess not, and I'm perfectly fine with that," Peter said, but before the king could reply Nakia shouted for him from down the hallway about something important.
They bid him goodbye and began their walk to the big game room they all loved, " I don't know whether I need a nap, to beat you in a Mario kart race, or both," Shuri said wrapping her arm around Peter's waist as he dropped an arm around her shoulders. He hummed slightly and tilted his head, " Both of those sound amazing right now, but I'm not losing to you in Mario Kart lady, not today and not ever," Peter said half joking and half serious. Shuri giggled and patted his chest with her other hand, " Aw my poor baby can't stand to lose to me, how unfortunate," she said still giggling, he rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out at her.
Opening the door to the game room, Peter let out a sigh of relief and took his shoes off as fast as he could and pounced on the couch as Shuri shut and locked the door. " You really missed that couch didn't you?" She said making fun of him as he hugged a pillow and stretched out as much as he could, " Yes my beautiful, amazing, loving girlfriend, I did in fact miss this couch, very, very much," he said keeping his eyes closed and laying on his back. Peter expected Shuri to lay on top of him and they would just lay there and watch tv together until they fell asleep, but she never came to him.
Clanking was heard in the kitchen area and the sound of water running started up as well as a dishwasher being started, curious Peter poked his head over the top of the couch. Shuri was standing in the kitchen with a smile on her face as she loaded the dishwasher with pre-washed dishes, and loaded the sink with dirty dishes and new dishes she had ordered. Peter's curly hair bounced as he hit the couch cushion with his fist, " Baby! What are you doing? We just got back and your cleaning?" he said emphasizing 'cleaning' like it was a strange new word. Shuri looked up and smiled at him sweetly, " These have been sitting here for a few days and they needed to be cleaned, so I took the liberty of doing it myself, besides it's a good skill everyone needs in life," she says keeping her smile.
Peter stood up from the couch and walked into the kitchen and over to the sink, " Yeah, but like these can wait for a little while, you're tired and you work hard anyway, I'll do them if you go watch tv or something." he said leaning his chin on her shoulder as she continued to do what she felt she needed to do. She chuckled a bit and turned around and faced him, " You, my dear, are cute, but it'll only take a few minutes and I'll come lay down with you and watch tv," she said with their noses together. " You're awful, you know that," Peter said looking into her eyes, " Shut up, I'm fabulous," Shuri said and grabbed him by the collar and giving him a kiss, " Now go sit down and I'll be there in a minute," she said as she nudged him out of the kitchen.
Peter grumbled but followed orders and sat on the couch, mindlessly flipping through channels and finally landing on cartoons. As he listened to the water run and Shuri hum to herself, he felt a sense of relief and peace flow through his veins. ' Maybe this is my happy place, wherever she is, maybe that's where I'm happiest,' He thought as he leaned back and just enjoyed the noises that were filling the room.
' Yep, this is it, Shuri's my happy place, wherever she is, I'm happy' Peter thought once again as she sat down with him and began watching whatever cartoon was on.
He was finally happy again, he could feel the stress leaving his body, and boy was he greatfull...
