"Shar, would you tell what did you really do."
"Donny, I told you, Ms. Gray just lost her control because of the water on the floor."
"So what time are we going to school?"
"We need to clean Ms. Gray's office so we have to be at school at 6:00 am."
"Can you go as early as that?" Donny asked me.
"I'll try."
"Let's go together."
"What do you mean?"
"See you tomorrow at your home, I'll pick you up with our driver," he told me then give his phone to me, " Shar, give me your number," without thinking I just typed my number on his phone.
At my condo unit, my nanny told me mom just called so I have to call her back.
I did but mom is not answering so I was not able to talk to her.
However, Dad called instead of mom.
"How's my daughter?"
"Appa,"
"Appa will come and see you soon."
"Chongmal appa?
"I miss you," Dad told me.
"I miss you too appa."
Then, Donny sent a message...
"Shar, sleep early tonight,
remember we're going to clean
tomorrow...and don't forget to
get an extra shirt."
I was very happy. But I have to wait for minutes before replying. Then I thought he should not know I stay in a million worth condo. So I thought of a plan.
"Shar, I'll pick you up. Tell me
your address,"he then texted
again.
"Donny, you don't need to pick
me up."
"Just tell me your address."
I know Donny won't stop asking it so I just sent him an address near our condo.
Morning...
I wake up so early that nanny cannot believe.
"Why are you so early today?"
"Me? I...I just have to do at school early po."
"Eat your breakfast before you go."
"Yes po."
After eating my breakfast...I got ready and nanny drove...but then I told nanny...
"Can I just stay here?"
"And what are you going to do here?"
"Donny, my classmate will pick me up going to school."
"Who is Donny?"
"He's my friend po."
"No, I can't let you stay here, and the more that I can't just let you ride on that Donny's car."
"He has a driver po, he's not going to drive."
"Either he'll be the one to drive or not, no, I'd rather drive you going to your school."
Nanny did not let me. I just texted Donny that we'll just meet at the school.
After nanny dropped me at the school, she immediately go.
Then Donny arrived.
"Did you take a bus?"
I did not answer,
"Shar," nanny called me.
Donny and I looked at nanny.
"Shar, I forgot to give your lunchbox,"
"Thank you po."
"Hello po," Donny greeted nanny.
"What's your name?"
"I'm Donny po."
"You look kind and nice," nanny said then smiled.
Donny smiled.
"She's really nice po," I told nanny.
And after that nanny went home.
We changed our uniform and started to clean Ms.Gray's office.
We had so much fun with Donny while cleaning.
At 6:30, we changed and put on our uniform then went back to the office to do the remaining yet easier to do.
Then Ms. Gray came in.
"Good morning Ms. Gray," we greeted her.
"Good morning," she replied then noticed her office to be very clean.
She tried to check if she could get any dust but it's all clean."
Then we go out from the office and it's time for our first period in the morning.
"Sharlene, our principal wants to talk with you," So Hyun said.
I didn't think that she's just joking,
"Donny, I have to go."
"I'll go with you."
"No, just wait for me inside our classroom."
Our classroom is far from the principal's office so it took me so long to go there.
Then, I am supposed to enter the office but I found out that our principal is not present and she attended a seminar.
As I went back to our classroom. I tried to sneak going to my seat but our English teacher noticed me.
"Sharlene,"
I don't know what to do. I was not able to stand up and say sorry right away.
"Sharlene!" she then called me in louder voice.
All my classmates looked at me.
"I'm sorry Ma'am."
"Come to my office," our teacher told me with anger.
I saw how So Hyun smiled because of it.
I was reprimanded by my teacher and even told me she'll report me to my mom.
I did not explain and did not say anything. I just listen to our teacher.
Before going home,
"Shar," Donny called me.
I looked back,
"How are you?"
"I'm okay."
"Really?"
I did not reply.
"Shar, I know you, what did our teacher said?"
"It's okay, don't think about it."
"Are you going somewhere tomorrow? Are you busy?"
"I'll be at home, I don't usually go out."
"Do you want to attend an art exhibit tomorrow?"
"Art exhibit?"
"Yes,"
"Honestly, I am not that fond of arts,"
"I am not fond as well but my aunt invited me to attend, it's her exhibit and I just can't deny it. Will you come with me?"
"I'll think about it."
"Shar, please come, I'll come to your house."
"Okay, I'll come but just tell me the address."
"Okay, see you tomorrow."
Then, I saw my car...
"Donny, sorry I have to go," I told Donny and run going to nanny so she won't bring the car near me.
As I am inside the car,
"Sharlene, what's the matter with you? Why do you have to run if I could come to you?"
"Nanay, I'm fine,next time just wait for me here."
"Nanay?"
"I heard that's a Filipino term for nanay."
"Are you calling me that way now?"
"Yes, nanay."
Saturday...
Donny is already waiting for me outside the venue when I arrived.
"Donny,"
"Shar, good you really came."
Then we went inside. I'm not really interested with arts but I enjoyed the exhibit and I learned a lot. I even met his Aunt and I found out she's an artist in the Philippines.
After the exhibit, we went to a park and again, I enjoyed being with him.
We laughed, we smiled, we ran, we eat and we even played at a playground together.
That was really a good day. Before we go home, Donny's driver came.
"Shar, tell me your address and we will drop you there."
"No Donny I'm okay, I'll just call nanay to pick me up."
"No, just tell it."
Since it's a no way to escape so I just told him an address near my condo.
I don't know why I have to act as if I have a very simple life. I don't know why I have to pretend I don't have everything I have.
But at the end, I was happy and I feel closer to Donny.
