After going back to where I stay, I was bothered if Donny was the guy who confronted my mom at the hospital. I am anxious. I felt like going back to Korea and ask my mom.
In the morning, as I enter our classroom,
"Classmates, did you watch TV last night?" one of classmate asked.
"Yes, and I saw Donny's mom," someone answered.
I was puzzled why Donny's mom is on TV.
"Is his mom a celebrity?" I asked myself.
"Donny's mom is really intelligent," another one said.
"Certainly, she answered all the questions wisely," someone said.
"Exactly," they agreed.
"But I wonder why Donny doesn't want to be an attorney just like his mom and dad," a classmate said.
"I too is wondering why he wants to be a cardiosurgeon if he's the only successor of Peterson Law Firm...and besides I don't think he will be allowed at the end to be a cardiosurgeon."
"I'm also curious,"someone said.
That time, I found out information about Donny that I was not yet able to know or to ask him.
I found out how they see his mom and dad as intelligent.
I waited for him to come to school that time but he was absent.
So I asked his friend who named Naval.
"I'm just curious, by chance, do you know where Donny is?"
"Oh, don't be marveled why he's absent today, he always do that everytime her mom was interviewed on TV."
"But why does he need to get absent?"
"I don't know, but that's Donny," Neight told me.
After talking to Neight, So Hyun approached me.
"Did you have a happy life after leaving Korea?"
"What are you saying?"
"Enjoy your stay here, Sharlene," she told me with stress on every word she uttered.
Then I saw So Hyun telling our classmates to go on shopping.
"Common classmates, let's go shopping...and after that I'll treat you to wherever you want to eat," she said then stared at me.
As I am walking, my mom called me so I sat on a bench.
"Ne, eomma."
"Gwaenchanayo?"
"Ne, no neun?"
"I'm okay too."
"Appa neun?"
"Appa is okay too."
"Eomma..."
"Bogoshippo."
"Eomma..."
"I might visit Philippines soon. I am going to your school."
"Anya eomma," I suddenly told mom wanting her not to come.
"Wae? Don't you miss eomma?"
"Bogoshipposoyo, eomma... but do you really have to come here?"
"Yes, and So Hyun's mom is coming too."
"Eonje?"
"I don't know the exact date yet. But for sure I will."
I don't know what to do that time. I was too worried and bothered about mom coming to Philippines.
Next day...
"Shar, what did you do yesterday?" Donny asked.
"I don't know," I answered with a very soft voice.
"What's the matter with you? Just a day you didn't see me and you are acting that way, you miss me?" he joked.
I looked at him.
"I heard your mom and dad are both attorney."
"Have you watched mom on TV?"
"No, I heard our classmates talking about them."
"Then, it's good I was absent yesterday."
"I think I have to be an attorney instead."
"Attorney? But why?"
"Just kidding, but seriously I am not sure now if I will pursue to be a cardiosurgeon or I will just think of another profession."
"How about your parents?"
Then, our adviser came inside our classroom and ask So Hyun and I to go in the principal's office.
As we go inside the Principal's office. I saw mom and So Hyun's mom.
"Eomma..." we called our mom at the same time.
"Oh, So Hyun ah," So Hyun's mom said and hugged her.
"Oh, My Sharlene," mom said and I hugged her.
"Sharlene, is So Hyun doing good?" her mom asked me.
"Ne komo," I answered.
"Then, that's great," mom and her mom said.
I was shocked when So Hyun came near me and act as if we are still friends. But of course, I have to treat her well, how can I ignore her if she's trying to be my friend again.
They had a very happy and good conversation with the principal then afterwhich, we are asked to proceed to our classroom.
After going out, I thought we are friends again...
"Go away from me," So Hyun told me.
"So Hyun ah,"
"You think I am your friend? That will never ever happen again."
"Why are you doing this to me?"
"You first did it to me."
"So Hyun!" I shouted.
"Sharlene!"she shouted back.
I know we might be in trouble so I just avoided her.
"Shar..." called Donny.
I ran and ignored him.
"Shar..."
I stopped at the bench and sat.
"Shar, is your mom here?"
I did not reply.
"Common let's go and introduce me to her. I want to meet your mom."
I did talk.
Donny suddenly looked at my face so near. Our eyes met. Then he smiled comfortably.
"Yah!" I suddenly shouted and I stand up.
"Shar, you're beautiful," Donny said and again he smiled at me.
I want to smile that time but I have to hide how I feel.
I turned my back and started to walk away from him.
He followed and
"You know what Shar, I really miss going at the gym...I miss playing volleyball. Let's go there...I'll show you how good I am in playing it."
"I'm not interested."
"Common Shar, I promise you'll enjoy it."
"But I don't know how to play."
Donny held my wrist and we went at the gym.
We changed our school uniform first before playing.
"Common Shar..."
"I'll just watch you."
Then Donny tried to serve the ball.
He's really good in playing.
Then he keeps playing the ball.
He played with the wall and as I am watching him, I feel more comfortable to be with him.
"Shar..."
"Go Donny," I cheered for him.
He smiled at me.
Then he suddenly came near me.
"Common Shar, I'll teach you."
"No, I don't really know how to play it. My mom..."
"Why your mom? She doesn't want you to play volleyball?"
"No, it's just that I really don't know."
"Don't worry, I'll teach you," he said then he held my wrist assisting me to go where he's playing.
"Shar, just hold this ball on your left hand and use your other hand to hit the ball going to the other court," Donny said then demonstrated it.
I tried but I was not able to hit the ball correctly.
He then assisted me to hit the ball. He held my hand to hold the ball then taught me how to hit the ball correctly.
Then I tried and was able to do it.
"Wow, Shar you hit it right," he said with pride.
"It's by chance, I don't really know how."
Then, he also teach me how to run and hit the ball. I was at the other court while he's at the other one.
Then while trying to catch the ball, I was stumbled and kneeled down on the floor.
"Ouch!"
Donny hurriedly asked if I'm okay.
"Yes, I am."
"May I see your knees?"
"No need, I'm okay."
Then, he helped me stand up.
I found out it is really hurting me. But I have to pretend I am okay.
At the end, Donny accompany me to the clinic.
