“Where the fuck were you?” Kale’s voice caught me off guard and I nearly jumped. I hadn’t spoken to him since Monday when I had agreed to leave him alone.
“What?”
“I don’t want anything but an answer. Where were you?”
“I was with Skylar.” I replied still surprised as I looked back out into the hall. Why does he seem to think my bedroom is his bedroom.
“What did you guys do?”
I shrugged. “I can’t remember. Now get out.”
Kale glared at me. “What do you mean you can’t remember?”
“It doesn’t matter. I don’t matter, remember? So whatever I do means so little that I don’t bothering remembering it.” I smarted back.
He stood with his arms crossed a sneer on his usually handsome face as he eyed me up. “It matters because I couldn’t lock the door without you home. Meaning I couldn’t get to bed.”
“It’s only eleven. You don’t go to bed until midnight at the earliest. And it’s Friday night. You usually have plans.”
“You stalk me or something?”
“No I have to turn off the hall light after you go to bed every night. I can see it under my door.” I sighed not knowing why he seemed to be so obnoxious. I’d left him alone, why did he have to bother me? “Well enough of the chit chat. Get out.” I hissed the last part.
He didn’t budge. “Why don’t you make me?”
“What is this, fifth grade? Just get out Kale.”
He shook his head. “I don’t want to.”
“What do you want then?” I demanded.
“I know what Skylar wants. Sex. That’s it.”
“Unlike you that isn’t all he thinks about. He hasn’t made a single sexual advancement towards me.”
Kale snickered. “Which is why you were all over him like some cheap whore at the beach Monday.”
How’d he even see me? He was busy the whole time. “Right because those bimbos you meet up with aren’t whores?”
“I get what I want and leave them. That’s what they are good for. That’s exactly what Skylar is going to do to you.”
I glared at him. What is his deal with Skylar anyways? “Whatever.” I finally muttered seeing in no point in arguing. I’d just come back from a fairly fun date with Skylar. We’d gone to see a movie and get a casual bite to eat at a diner. Nothing fancy like I’d been worried about. It almost felt more like a day out between friends.
He scoffed. “You didn’t honestly think he would like you for your personality did you? Like you for who you are?”
Did I do something wrong? Did I kill him in a past life? “Maybe. But you’ll have to ask him, not me.”
“You’re personality is shit. I’ve never once heard you mention a friend from your dad’s house. You don’t have any because no one would purposely go out of their way to spend time with you.” I grabbed some clothes as he hovered close by behind me. I didn’t know what had possessed him to say such things but I didn’t really care. It was a stupid argument to be having.
“Want me to sum it up for you? Tease.” I turned my back to Kale and walked into the bathroom with a handful of clothes. When I came back out in a pair of cotton shorts and a tank he was still there.
“I’m not a tease.” I hissed at him. What is his deal?
He laughed. “I can’t believe you are so thick skulled as to honestly believe that!”
“You don’t even know me!” I yelled back.
“I don’t want to dumbass. No one does.”
“What is your malfunction? What is wrong with you? Want to be rid of me?” I stuck my face in his. “Then leave me alone and you won’t have to deal with me.” I snarled.
“But it’s fun to tease a tease.”
“Just get out.”
“Denial.”
I shrugged. “At least I’m not a charmless daddy’s boy who would go absolutely no where in life if he didn’t have his daddies money.”
“I give it one week before Skylar gets tired of your games and just fucks you. Like Miles he won’t put up with your teasing for long.”
“Excuse me?” I asked, my eyes narrowing as my body reacted negatively to Miles name.
“You heard me.” he responded staring dead straight into my eyes. “I won’t come and pick up your mess this time.”
The words felt like a punch to the gut and I felt breathless. “Are you saying that it was my fault?”
He laughed and glared at me. “Of course it was your fault. If you hadn’t wanted it you would have fought harder. You wouldn’t have been throwing yourself at him the moment you laid eyes on him giving him the wrong idea.” How dare he say that to me?!
Tears stung in my eyes and I blinked them away. “Fine.” I finally breathed. I was done with it. I was done listening to him.
I pushed past him and out into the hallway marching quickly down the stairs. “Fine what?” he asked following behind me.
“You want me gone so bad, well I’m fucking gone.” I pulled on a pair of shoes tying them quickly. “I’m sorry I got your friend Miles in trouble. You’re right. I’m a huge tease and I deserved everything I got.” I hissed at him.
I shoved him aside and ran out the front door not even glancing back.
I had no idea where I was going. I just ran. Straight down the long drive way and onto the streets. When I get tired I’ll pass out somewhere indiscrete. In the morning I can find my way back and pack my things.
I lost track of time. My legs burned and my lungs screamed trying to tear from my chest as I ran hard and fast. Cars passed by me but I paid little attention, that was until I saw the tail lights of one stop and back up towards me. If that is Kale I will shoot myself
