Chapter 29
We ended up back at ours, I'd showered and was changed into some shorts and one of Kane's hoodies, which I practically live in I know. I was a bit shaken up...but more angry with Lily and wanted to know why she had a grudge against me. I was sat snuggled up into Kane on the sofa out on the balcony, Joel was on my other side and Wyatt and Angelo were sat on the other,
"So tell us again what happened" Joel asked, "Sis...you go first"
"I was walking home..." I started,
"Why?"
"Because my phone died"
"You could have asked someone to borrow theirs"
"Joel...do you wanna hear what happened or not?"
"I wanna know why my sister was bloody walking home in the first place on her own"
"Anyway...I was walking home and went to take a short cut down the alley"
"You could have taken the longer route" Wyatt said. Jeez him too.
"Yeah I could of, but I wanted to get home...knowing you lot would be worrying about me"
"Just saying"
"As I'd walked a few steps down the alleyway I swear I heard voices, so I stopped and looked round, there was no one there, but hell was I freaked out, so I picked up pace. That's when I heard footsteps behind me all of a sudden and turned to look..."
"Why'd you look for...you should have just kept walking Baby girl" Kane said. Man their all at it today, I was... nearly butchered. I glanced at Angelo; he was trying not to smile.
"I was scared okay...I had to see if it was some psychopath or not...but yeah...it was a big man, I started to run, he ran after and started shouting 'you won't outrun me'. I was adamant I would so turned to face straight, where I ran into another man. He grabbed me and I started to verbally abuse the bastard, he called me a bitch and told me to stop whining, I protested and he must've knocked me out...because when I came round I was tied up"
"The sick bastards...I'm going to hunt them down and..."
"No you won't Kane...because I've sorted it" Angelo told him. Kane looked at me, still fuming, but calmed down a little bit,
"I want to ask how...but I know you won't tell me"
"Your right I won't...but I have...they won't come near her again"
"Carry on Sis" Joel said,
"They just kept verbally abusing me...they said Lily said I was a bitch and that she wanted me to pay... blah blah blah...won't go into detail...but yeah...thought I was going to like be butchered when they pulled out a knife...I just shut my eyes...that's when Angelo must've appeared like a Angel, a knight in shining armour again", Kane held me tighter, we all looked at Angelo.
"I was walking to town...saw this car, thought it suspicious, heard something in the alley and headed down there...beat the shit out of the three men...we had a few words and they crawled away...untied Rics and made sure she was okay...I was about to bring her home when you turned up"
"You don't have one scratch on you" Wyatt said,
"I'm a good fighter"
"What are you doing walking to town anyway and when did you move here" Joel asked,
"Stop interrogating him" I said,
"It's okay beautiful...I arrived here this afternoon...sorted out my stuff and was wandering down to explore the town"
"Where have you just moved into?" I asked,
"Now who's interrogating" Kane said, I smiled,
"Stalker" Angelo said, I laughed,
"Whatever"
"I moved into one of the new apartments overlooking the beach...down the road from here actually, we passed it"
"Just you?" Wyatt asked,
"Just me"
"Kane...Wyatt" Trent hollered "Your Mum and Dad want you"
"Yeah...coming" They called back,
"Joel...Sam's on the phone" Trent then shouted,
"Okay",
"We'll be back soon" they all said departing, I nodded. Once they'd gone I moved and sat by Angelo,
"Can I ask you something" I said,
"Anything"
"Are you real", he laughed,
"Yes I'm real"
"Well are you an Angel then...you only have to knock the O off of Angelo"
"No I'm not an Angel...not that I know of any way...why" he smiled,
"Because...when I first met you, we instantly got on...and you seemed to be stalking me ever since then...or watching over me...'cus I still think you're an Angel. You got Kane and Joel out of prison and sorted that out...you always make me smile...you saved me today...because if it wasn't for you I'd...yeah let's not go there. It's just...it's as if you were told to meet me and look after me...if you're an Angel I honestly don't mind...you can tell me"
"I'm not an Angel beautiful...but I'm touched you think I am"
"I know you are",
"Maybe we were meant to meet...but I wasn't told by God or the boss Angel, trust me...I think we were just in the right place at the right time...coincidence that I happened to see you outside the police station...coincidence that I happen to walk down that particular street at that particular time"
"None of that is coincidence...you're an Angel"
"If you want me to be your Angel then I will...but I can assure you my names Angelo Sanchez, I'm 23 years old and have just moved here because I got a new job"
"As what exactly"
"Personal trainer", I grinned
"Free workout session's with my Angel...perfect" he laughed. It went silent for a few minutes then I said,
"Your friend Xander was trying to raid McDonald's the other day in a wig"
"Yeah...I know..."
"You know a lot of things...just proves my point about you being and Angel", he smiled,
"He rang me after you dropped him in town...he's living with me for a while"
"Then why'd you lie and say you were living alone"
"Its only Xander...does it really matter"
"Hey I'm not bothered...don't rip my head off Angel", he grinned,
"Sorry..."
"You wanna stay for like...a midnight feast or something...what times it anyway?"
"It's 10.45pm...I would love to beautiful...but I best head home...and hope that Xander hasn't burnt my new place down"
"Want me to walk you home?" I asked
"Kane would kill me if I let you walk me home, and then walk back by yourself"
"Oh well...he won't know"
"Who won't know what", Damn it,
"Oh nothing Kane Baby", he looked at me then Angelo, who stood up offering me his hand, I took it and he pulled me up,
"I'm gonna head off home" Angelo said to Kane,
"I'm walking you" I said,
"He's a big boy Baby...I'm sure he can walk down the road to his apartment"
"I'll be totally fine beautiful...got the Angels looking over me"
"Oh yeah...okay then" I gave him a hug "Thanks for saving me Angel" I kissed his cheek,
"Don't mention it", we walked downstairs to the door,
"LYRIC" Trent hollered, ergh,
"COMING" I shouted back "See you soon Angel"
"Sure will beautiful", I ran off.

Kane's POV
We both stepped outside the house; I closed the door and looked at Angelo,
"I just wanted to say thank you in person...you've saved our arses twice now...we owe you from the prison fiasco...but you saved my Baby girl...I know I may seem a little off towards you...that's because I get jealous easily. I know you're a really good guy...Rico thinks the world of you obviously...so, I hope we'll be mates...and that we're forever in your debt"
"You're a bigger man than I took you for Kane...honestly you're not in my debt....I'm just glad I could help you and glad I was able to save Rico...I'm sure I'll be seeing you around a lot more...mate...and sorry when I call Rico beautiful...cus I guess it annoys you", I laughed,
"Yeah it kind of does...but I'll let you off", he smiled,
"See you around then"
"No doubt about it", he walked off and turned to go inside. I'm glad we had that little chat. I know he's a nice guy...I'm just too protective and jealous when it comes to my Baby girl. I shut the door behind me. Oh yeah...I just remembered that were having a bath together today, Rics did say we could. Yeah I said we'd have one tomorrow, but what the hell...tonight and tomorrow night sounds good to me. It is 11pm though; yeah... we can fit one in.
"Baby girl...I hope you're running the bath" I call.
"No...I'm not...I'm talking to Trent so if you want one with me...run it yourself" She called back. Best go run a bath then.

Lyric's POV
We'd been talking about random things for a bit, until Trent looked at me with his steely eyes and said,
"We've set the date of the funeral for next Wednesday...Joel and I wanted to know if...you wanted to say something about Dad...a little speech...we understand if you don't want to or..."
"I want to do a speech Trent", he looked at me,
"Okay...well..." tears started to roll down his cheeks, I hugged him starting to cry too, "I'm sorry...I'm sorry"
"You don't need to be sorry for crying Trent"
"I'm trying to be brave and strong for you and Joel...but...I feel as if I missed out on Dad...and for him to die...just hurts me...he won't get to see my baby...he won't get to have his son"
"Trent...he had an amazing 4 years with you...he looked complete with you being here",
"I'm sorry..." He said, getting up and walking out. I just sat there; on the sofa...I wiped my eyes. Breathe...breathe...I can't believe that Trent feels like that, I get him trying to stay strong for Joel and my sake...which he shouldn't because it'll just break him. But him saying he missed out on Daddy is really hard on me. He shouldn't have to feel like that.
"Baby girl...baths ready", Kane shouted down to me. I made my way upstairs...promising myself that I wasn't going to burst into tears when I saw Kane, I entered our bedroom.
"Bath is steaming hot and waiting for us", He said, then when he saw me "What's the matter...what happened?"
"Nothing happened...I'm fine...I am..." I said quietly,
"And I'm the tooth fairy" he said, I smiled,
"I am fine...really...really I am"
"Lyric...Baby girl...I wasn't born yesterday...I know you...and I know that there's something the matter"
"Just leave it"
"No..."
"Baby please just leave it..." he sighed,
"Fine...if you want to tell me later, you'll tell me"
"Thank you", I said softly and kissed him, he scooped me up and carried me into the bathroom. We'll see you later everyone. SLAM.
...
1 hour later...
"We're going to get married soon aren't we" I whispered to Kane. We were led in bed snuggled up together, the duvet pulled right up over us,
"As soon as we can Baby girl...Mrs Lyric Turner"
"I like the sound of that...but I like the sound of Mrs Lyric Riley-Turner"
"You want to keep your name"
"It was my Dad's surname...I want to keep something of his that's important...so..."
"Mr Kane Riley-Turner...super sexy"
"Just like you", he kissed me gently, and we fell off to sleep.
