You were walking the paths of India, alone, it was pretty dark outside but you weren't to far from home. Barely anyone was outside, say about two people walked by you and you saw a dog digging through a trash can, it had seemed to be black and white.
"Oi..." You mumbled to yourself "poor animals" You continued, feeling bad about the anime as you walked towards it and it looked at you. "Want something good to eat?" You asked the dog, it seemed to be a boy. You got up and began walking to one of the all night restaurants as the dog followed behind you.
You were soon outside giving him fresh steak and water. The dog ate it right up. "So, whats your name?" You asked "well..its not like you can speak" You mumbled how stupid you sounded..you looked away at the sky then the dog got your attention again.
"Iggy" You sound out loud to yourself as you read the writing in the dirt. "That's interesting..im y/n" You say, looking at Iggy. Iggy had seemed to take a liking towards you as he sat down in your lap. You pet him gently until you see a dark skinned man yelling "Iggy, where are you?" He shouted. You looked back at Iggy and stood up with him in your arms trying not to wake him up.
"Sir, is this your dog?" You asked him and he turned around to you "oh, yes, thank you..how did you find him?" He asked as you handed Iggy to him. "Well I found him digging in a trash can and then I gave him a good meal" You answered with a slight smile. "Oh, thank you, very much.
"Uhm...you look familiar" You began to think what he could be, if you knew him or not. "I do? Well, I can't say for myself" He chuckled slightly. "Are you a fortune teller?" You asked him. "Why yes I am" He smiled and you smiled back "would you like to know your fortune?" He asked.
"Oh, I mean..sure, but are you busy?"
"No, I have s bit more time on my hands, besides, you look like a lovely lady" He complimented and you slightly blushed "well thank you" You say.
You and the man took a seat in the restaurant as Iggy was still sleeping on your lap. As the man pulled out a deck of cards you gasped "ah! Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, my names Y/n" You say and the man jumped a bit "Oh, it's alright! You may call me Avdol" He smiled and you nodded. "Avdol, that's an interesting name" You smiled and he smiled back "Yours is to, very lovely and fitting"
Avdol, was now shuffling the cards and you watches in awe "I don't think I could ever shuffle like that" You laughed nervously "well with enough practice and work, you can almost do anything" You nodded in agreement and he placed the deck in front of you "you may pick three cards from the top now, and I will tell you what they mean".
You hummed in response and pick up the first card.
"Say, are you from here?" He asked as you looked at the card "no, I am from japan, but I traveled from America after meeting my family and now I'm living here for a while" You answered then set the card down facing up. The card had two fish in a lake of pink water it seemed.
You looked up at Avdol as he looked at the card then smiled at you "from here to the future, your future will be filled with love and passion" You looked at him, confused and surprised. "I never thought that could happen.." You say looking back at the card then at him "well, then you're in luck I guess" He chuckled s bit and you pick up another card, looking at it, then placing it down.
The next one is a woman with wings on a cloud, looking down at a the earth "You have spirits watching over you, perhaps loved ones that have passed" He said and you smiled "well, at least I know there safe" You smiled. Sure sometimes fortune telling wasn't always correct but for some reason you thought that this guy was pretty trust worthy.
You picked up another card, doing that same thing, looking at it then setting it down face up.
The card had two men and a woman, the two men had seemed to be staring at each other as the woman watched in fright. Avdol looked at it, and he fell silent. You looked worried "w-what does it mean?" You asked and Avdol looked at you "Your soul mate seems to be very protective of you" He smiled and you smiled back.
'What if this is it..the time I meet my love?' Avdol thought to himself 'is she right there, in front of me? No, I only met the woman, I..' Avdol snappee out of his thought.
"Avdol! Are you okay sir?" You asked and you could see his face start to redden. "Ah, yes, thank you, but I am fine" He smiled "are you sure?" You asked once again and he nodded.
"I am sure"
"Well..i guess I should get going home now..i have a lizard to feed-" You said as you reached in your wallet and gave him a few bucks. "What is this for?" He asked "for the fortune telling silly" You teased "oh no! You don't have to" You denied the man and gently pushed it back to you.
"Are you sure?" You asked in a soft tone. "Of course dear" He said as he stood up, Iggy seemed to be awake since he was now standing next to you. "Well...okay.." You say slowly putting it back. "I will see you later then?" You smile.
He nodded and smiled back.
"Sure"

It was a bit later, you were walking back home and you had noticed Iggym finally left with Avdol. You sigh to yourself, putting your hands in your jacket pockets as you spaced off forward.
"Hey! Girl!" A man said as he appears in front of you with a pistol. You looked shocked, and confused as another grabbed you from behind with a knife up to your neck "what are you doing!?" You yelled as he tightened his grip.
"Search her for any valuables!" The second one said and the other did so.
You kicked and yelled hoping for someone to come, yet no one came..yet..
Right before they were about to run off, a dark skinned man had tackled both of them to the ground, making the one drop the gun.
"A-avdol!?" You yelled as he was struggling to keep them both down.
You saw a pheonix like creature appear from Avdols presence as he soon knocked out both of them as one almost escaped. You were in absolute shock, as you just stood there. Avdol got up slowly as the creature disappeared. Avdol turned to you "are you alright, y/n?" He asked.
You nodded slowly "th-thank you!" You said as you straightened your body. He took a few steps closer to you "Be more careful, please" He said in a soft tone.
"I-i will.." You mumbled.
There was silence for a bit until you spoke up.
"Hey..Avdol" You said and he hummed
"I know this is crazy, but..do you think you're my soulmate?" You asked nervously as you blushed.
He blushed and gulped.
"Sorry..stupid question..its just..the fortune thing and-" You began and you stopped once you heard Avdol speak "yes." He said firmly "yes, I do.." He spoke again and you looked up at him.
You sigh.
"Heh, well I thought I was just being crazy-" You said and were cut off by the touch of his lips.
Your eyes widened as he kissed you passionately, you slowly kissed back and closed your eyes as you wrapped your hands around his neck and he slid his arms around your waist. You both separated, due to need of air.
You both, blushing deeply
"Sorry..i should have gotten your permission" He spoke up, trying to hide the nervousness in his voice.
"Its alright, it was wonderful" You smiled at him and you two kissed again.
