Patton and Virgil had been rehearsing for hours. They were both sweaty, the blazing Florida heat coming from the rather large window was not helping. Patton had called a break so he could get some water, but Virgil continued to work on his step.

He hadn't eaten anything that morning and he was far too caught up in rehearsal to break for water and he was starting to feel the side affects of his poor decision.

The world swayed beneath his feet. He took an unsteady step forward in an attempt to delay the inevitable. Black spots danced across his vision. He fell quickly to the floor, landing with and ungraceful thud. His ears were ringing, blocking out Patton's voice.

Virgil fought for control over his body, but whatever it was that he was fighting was much stronger than he, and ended up beating him rather easily. He fought the grasp of unconsciousness as he tried desperately to convey to Patton that he was okay and that they could still rehearse, but it caught him suddenly, pulling him into the dark void of torpor.

In the waking world, Patton was panicking. He splashed water on Virgil's face. After a few seconds, he dialed Roman's number.

Roman picked up after two rings.

"Hey Pat, what's up?" Roman's voice was calm and relaxed.

"Studio three, performing arts hall. Something's wrong with Virgil." Patton's voice, unlike Roman's, was quick and panicked.

There was shuffling and the sound of keys on the other side of the line.

"Alright, hang on. I'll be there in a minute." Roman murmured.

The line went dead in Patton's ear and he heard a quiet groan.

"Virgil?" Patton asked.

Virgil grunted in response.

There were frantic footsteps approaching the door to the studio before it was forcefully pushed open.

"Where is he?" Roman's eyes were blown wide and his breath was quick. He had ran all the way to the performance art practice hall from his dorm.

Patton made a hand motion to the floor in front of him where Virgil lay.

"Ro?" Virgil murmured.

"What the hell happened?" Roman was quick to Virgil's other side. His voice was snappy and harshly protective.

"I-I don't know." Virgil whined, scared at Roman's tone. "I was just going through the moves and then I got dizzy and I felt lightheaded and now we're here." Patton helped Virgil sit up, letting his purple haired friend lean against him for support.

"Drink some water." Patton offered Virgil his water bottle.

"No thanks Pat, 'm not thirsty." Virgil was quick to turn Patton down.

"Drink the water." Roman's voice grew softer.

"Fine." Virgil muttered, taking the bottle from Patton's hands.

"I think that's enough rehearsal for today Virge." Patton smiled sympathetically at his friend.

"What? No!" Virgil objected quickly. "I'm fine, I promise!"

"No Virge, he's right. I'm gonna take you back to your dorm." Roman looked to Patton who nodded in reply.

"I'll get your stuff together. Do you want to change before you go?" Patton asked. He picked up Virgil's backpack and unplugged his friend's phone from the wall.

"Jacket." Virgil groaned as Roman helped him up.

Patton dug around in Virgil's bag for a moment before pulling out the black, and, thanks to Patton's sewing skills, purple patched jacket. He tossed it to Roman who helped Virgil into it.

"I'm fine." Virgil hissed at Roman.

"Obviously not." Roman shot back. "Patton dearest, may I have his backpack?" Roman asked and Patton handed him the bag.

Roman slung the backpack over his shoulder and smiled at Virgil.

"I do hope you don't mind being carried." Roman smiled sweetly at Virgil as the latter let out a loud sound of protest.

"Leave it be, Virgil. Just let him take you back to your dorm." Patton interjected.

"It's just across the way, I can walk!" Virgil argued.

"Stop arguing, Virgil." Patton's tone was dangerously low. Virgil knew Patton wasn't playing around.

"Fine." Virgil sighed, turning to Roman.

Roman smiled at him, hooking one of his arms behind Virgil's knees and the other on his middle back.

It wasn't until that moment that Virgil realized how tall Roman was compared to him.

Within a few minutes, Roman was holding Virgil in his arms outside of the dance student's dorm room as said dance student fumbled with his keys. He finally got it unlocked and Roman pushed the door open. He set Virgil down gently on his bed, sliding the dance student's backpack from his shoulders and setting it at the end of the bed.

Roman noticed Remus's laptop, sitting closed on his bed. The psychology student was nowhere to be seen.

"He's not in a class, he probably just went to get something to eat or something." Virgil commented. He was scrolling on his phone, sitting up back against the headboard. He moved over,
closer to the wall, and patted the spot on the bed next to him.

Roman smiled gently and sat next to the dance student. Virgil immediately scooted towards Roman, crossing his legs over Roman's.

Roman held the back of his hand against Virgil's forehead, immediately frowning. "You're hot."

"Awe, thanks." Virgil's retort was quick.

"That is not how I meant it and you know that. It's like you don't even care about your health."

"Nope." Virgil murmured, popping the 'p.'

"Drink some water." Roman held out Virgil's water bottle for the latter to take.

"Roman," Virgil whined. He turned off his phone, tossing it carelessly towards the end of the bed.

"Please?" Roman was desperate, though he did a good job hiding it.

"But why? Death is inevitable anyways, I'm just speeding up the process."

Roman turned his head, his lips just barely brushing Virgil's cheek as he spoke to Virgil in a low voice, "drink the water, Virge."

Virgil let out a whine of protest, but took the bottle anyways, popping the cap and taking a sip.

"There, happy?"

"For now, yes." Roman smiled.

Roman wrapped his arms around Virgil's middle, pulling the latter into his lap. Virgil resting his head back on Roman's chest.

"I really want to make you feel wanted."

"I know, Ro."

"Just take your time." Roman whispered.

Virgil didn't remember falling asleep, but Roman wasn't there when he woke. There was a note on the nightstand, but he didn't look at it. He lay in place, hoping to find himself asleep once more.

Before his eyes slid closed again he found himself thinking one thing:
It's almost time, Roman. Almost time.
