The DA was reluctant to let you in, but somehow Neville had convinced Potter to let you come in to their secret hiding spot as long as you were blindfolded. You were skeptical, after all you barely knew Neville; to let him lead you up several flights of stairs to the secret hide out of DA was a stretch. However your curiosity got the best of you and you let him lead you up.
He kept hold of your upper arm gently, his hand was warm and rough with cuts he got from gardening most likely. When you finally got into the room, Neville released your arm and took off your blindfold. You blinked to adjust to the well lit room filled with Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws and Gryffindors but no other Slytherins seemed to be in sight. You took in the sheer amount of them, almost half of the school was here. You hadn't noticed because you had been so focused on keeping away from your brother and the "inquisitorial squad" that you didnt even realize the half of the school hadn't been present for several weeks.
After doing your calculations was when you realized over 30 pairs of eyes staring at you. The first to speak up was Anthony Goldstein,a Ravenclaw prefect with a very defined sense of right and wrong. "What is she doing here?" He asked which began an uproar in the silence.
A squeaky Hufflepuff your age walked up to Neville and tentatively but loud enough for you to hear told Neville, "You know she's Malfoy's sister right? She could run back to the inquisitorial squad and tattle on us."
"I have no loyalty to the inquisitorial squad I can ensure you." You tried.
Hannah looked at you doubtfully.
"Hannah you have Defense Against The Dark Arts with her don't you?" Neville asked.
Hannah hesitated, "Yes."
"Well would Professor Umbridge really get her in trouble all the time if she was one of her pets?" Neville asked.
"Still..." Hannah trailed off and over the arguing houses a female voice spoke up from an amplified voice charm.
"Everyone quiet down. Harry has something to say." It was a muggle born witch by the name of Hermione Granger. Draco talked about her quite a bit, though not as much as Potter.
Everyone went silent immediately which made you wonder the kind of power Potter held here.
"I told Neville he could bring Y/n here." Harry said and people started talking loudly again. "Listen listen." Harry said, his voice drowning in the sea of arguments bursting up in waves from the crowd.
"Hey!" Ronald Weasley bellowed.
"She came blindfolded so she doesn't know where the entrance is or how to get in. But we should look past her house and her family and give her a chance." Harry said.
"And why should we do that? How do we know she's not taking all this information back to Malfoy and the others?" Justin Finch-Fletchy called out, that Hufflepuff really loved jumping to conclusions.
Harry flinched and looked like he didn't know what to say to that.
You didn't expect so many bad reactions, your sore hands twitched and you bit your lip helplessly, "Maybe this was a bad idea maybe I should go back..." you said to Neville.
"No, wait a minute!" He yelled at the crowd. "She doesn't deserve to be treated like this."
You couldn't believe your ears, was the awkward, shy boy from your potions class standing up for you?
"She's stood up for others, and she's suffered under Umbridge probably more than any of you accusing her ever have. She has battle scars from Umbridge all over her hands to prove it. And I know she'll keep rebelling even if you don't let her in. But I also know that if you don't, then I don't like what DA stands for. From where she is right now, DA is just a prejudiced debate group. And I dont wanna be a part of that."
"So what're you saying Neville?" Seamus Finnigan asked.
"I'm saying if you don't let her have a chance, then I quit DA."
You stared at the boy next to you, looking each person in the large room in the face. Hannah's eyes were shining with appreciation. Padma Patil was nodding thoughtfully. Ginny Weasley was staring at Neville in awe.
"Welcome to Dumbledore's Army Y/n." Dean Thomas said holding out his hand.
You took it still in shock and Dean gave it a quick shake, then patted Neville's shoulder and the DA started clapping, slowly at first, then escalating into cheering that you knew wasn't for you. It was for Neville and his strength. You glanced at him with a smile and he smiled back, his whole face a bright pink.

That Summer was the worst of your entire life, you and Draco had been recruited as Deatheaters no matter how much you pleaded with your mother not to make you do it. Now that mark on your arm was a constant burden and reminder that you were betraying Dumbledore's Army and it was weight pressing down on you from all side. You stared at the fading scars from Umbridge's detention, your rebellion. Then you rolled back your left sleeve and saw the ugly black tattoo there and was reminded of the task you were to fulfill this year. To aid your brother in killing Albus Dumbledore. The figure head of your previous allegiance and you knew then for sure, the war had begun.

From the moment you disarmed Dumbledore and Severus killed him, you had made your choice for which side you were on. Especially when you caught Harry's green eyes watching the whole time. 'I'm sorry' you tried to mouth to him, but Draco grabbed your arm and yanked you down the stairs with the other deatheaters, Bellatrix Lestrange skipping happily and bringing havoc to Hogwarts. A single tear rolled down your eye and you glimpsed at your twin to see a matching one tracing his.

"Harry Potter is dead." At that statement, you gripped your brother's forearm and saw the last bit of hope fall from his face. "Put your faith in me." Lord Voldemort said with a satisfied smile.
Draco and you stood side by side, already behind the Dark Lord since your mother had insisted the two of you staw away from school this year and you saw what had happened to the students. You looked around and a Ravenclaw boy with dark bags under his eyes stepped forward. "Come comedy boy." Voldemort said and embraced the boy who looked half dead already, you didn't catch his name. You were still glancing around nervously when another moving figure caught your eye and you saw him.
Neville was walking towards your dark army. He gave his name, "Neville Longbottom."
Bellatrix cackled along with a few other deatheaters.
Then Neville stopped his limping progression, "I'd like to say something."
"Well Neville I'm sure we'd all be fascinated to hear what you have to say." Voldemort said sarcastically and you glared at him behind his back.
"Doesn't matter that Harry's gone." He said and the warrior behind him looked at him like he was crazy but you raised your eyes, the ladt bit of hope flickering inside you like a dying candle.
"No Neville." Said a Gryffindor in the background.
"People die every day." Neville said to him without looking away from Voldemort's eyes. "Friends...family. Yeah, we lost Harry tonight. He's still with us. In here." Neville touched his heart and you glanced over at Harry again and you thought you saw his hand twitch. This was the Neville that introduced you to DA. "So is Fred, Remus, Tonks. All of them. They didn't die in vain." He said.
That was when you squeezed your brother's hand before sprinting up to Neville."We fight together!" You grabbed his hand and raised it and behind you, the remaining students grabbed hands and raised them.
"I knew you were on our side." Neville said and you reached a hand up to his neck and kissed him hard and quick, pulling away to see Harry Potter jump out of Hagrid's arms and dash off throwing a stupefy in Voldemort's direction. If you weren't so confused and delighted and shocked, you would've rolled your eyes at Harry's lack of knowledge in spells. It's like stupefy was the only one he knew. Neville released your hand and pulled a sword out of the sorting hat he was holding in his other hand. He glanced at you one more time, "I-" he started.
"Look out!" You shouted as a curse flew right by Neville's head.
The sleep deprived Ravenclaw boy was facing off against you, "Go find the snake, you just have to kill it and then Harry can kill Voldemort." Neville nodded, determination spreading across his features and he half ran half limped back into the school. You turned to face the crazy Ravenclaw.
"I haven't slept in weeks and Harry Potter just keeps making everything worse." He twitched, it was like he was trying to explain something to you, like he saw the confusion in your face. "Maybe, it will all be better when he reigns."
"Listen to me, nothing will be better. Everything will be worse. It won't just be you who can't sleep, it'll be everyone else too." You said dodging an attack and throwing a quick shield charm for another.
"Good!" He screamed and you jumped alarmed. "Then maybe they'll have a glimpse of how I feel." He said and then he was hit from the side by a rope binding curse and you saw Hannah Abbott coming towards you at a run.
She took your hand in hers, "Come on, he can stay here for now. Neville found the snake."
"What?" You asked and she tugged your arm, leading you into a run, you stumbled over rocks of all sorts and then you emerged to see the snake about to strike at Neville and he raised the sword and slashed blindly.
"Neville!" You screamed and he cut the snake in half.
You stood in the doorway in shock staring at Neville, your heart pounding. Hannah somehow had run off by the time Neville took a staggering step towards you which sent you running into his arms again. You took his face in both of your hands and pressed your forehead to his. "Why do you have to make my heart proud no matter what you do?"
Neville just smiled and kissed you lightly, you deepened the kiss, not even caring about the war still raging on.
