Chapter 62: Sneak Out
Sako: Onii-chan?! What are you doing here? You should be resting at home!
Kato: I'm sorry. I can't let myself do nothing after I agreed to help with the Café. It's not my way.
Sako: But you're injured!
Kato: It's not that bad.
Sako: How did you even come here?!
Kato: Well uh...
It's the day that all Hiruzen High School students had been waiting for. The day we students prepared for the past few days to make this day happened. And I, Kato Saguta, even though I'm still injured due of yesterday's attack and was forbid to come, I still came here anyways.
-Last night at Saguta's residence-
Ririnko: What?! Are you okay, Kato?
Kato: Ya...
Sako: No he's not! He's injured!
Kireina: Ya!
Kato: It's not that bad. Is it?
Kireina: Papa. It's that bad.
Ririnko: Kato. You need to rest. Stay at home for a while.
Kato: But tomorrow is the Summer Festival day at school! Everyone was counting on me with the food. If I don't go, I'll let them down and they have to cancel our class activity.
Sako: They won't. Kazuma said he wanted to help you right? I'm pretty sure he's good at cooking. Besides, I'll help him if there will be any trouble.
Ririnko: You heard her. Kato, you'll be staying right here in the house until you are fully recovered! No excuses!
Kato:...
Ririnko: *sigh* So, this 'Raigano' guy saved you when Kato was unconscious?
Sako: Y-Yeah.
Ririnko: I need to meet him when he gets better. I need to thank him for saving you guys from that evil guy. Now, go to sleep. Sako, Kireina. Please bring Kato to his room.
Sako and Kireina gently supported both sides of my body and went to my room. I thanked them and said goodnight to them. But I noticed Sako's face was a little down. I wonder what made her sad. I called Kaneko after that.
Kato: Hey, Kaneko. Are you alright? Do you remember anything while I was unconscious?
Kaneko: Yeah, I'm alright. I don't remember anything. When the partner of a spirit faints, we spirits will lost consciousness as well. But we will wake up earlier than you humans.
Kato: So you don't remember anything too huh? Hmm...
I lied down on my bed with dissatisfaction. Kaneko asked if there was something bothering me. I told him that Sako story was a little odd. She said Tokuchi came to save us from the Fallen Knight but how did he get badly injured?
Kaneko: Don't think about it too much okay? It already happened. There's nothing we could do about it. Besides, you and Sako made a promise with other to not to tells lie with each other right?
Kato: Lies not secrets. Hmm...
Kaneko: *yawn* I need to sleep. Goodnight. Zzz...
Kato: Goodnight. Sako. Are you hiding something from me?
I fell sleep after a few moments. The next morning I woke up, I tried to stand up on my own. I felt a little pain but I endured it as I walked to the kitchen.
Ririnko: What do you think you're doing, Kato?
Kato: Grah?! Onee-san?!
Ririnko: I told you to rest. If you want to make breakfast, forget it. I'll cook it myself.
Kato: This is bad. I need to find an excuse. I want to take a shower. I feel a little uncomfortable and hot.
Ririnko: Is that so. Then go on ahead. When you 're done, go rest in your room.
Kato: Y-Yes...
After my bath, I went to my room and sat on my bed. I looked at Kaneko that was still sleeping.
Sako: Onii-chan. We'll be going now. Just rest okay?
Kireina: See you later, Papa!
Kato: U-Um...
Ririnko: Have a good day. And for you...
Ririnko served a bowl of soup right in front of me. The soup's colour was green and looks poisonous. Ririnko then walked out from my room and told me to finish the soup before she came back.
Kato: Erghhh. Wait... Kaneko, hey Kaneko wake up!
Kaneko: Huh? Good morning... What's up?
Kato: I need you to replace my place!
Kaneko: What?! You want me to eat that soup?! No way!
Kato: Not that you dumb cat. Turn into human form and disguise as me while I go to school.
Kaneko: Are you serious?
Kato: I am! So please, Kaneko. I'm begging you.
Kaneko: *sigh* Fine. But don't blame me if anything happens to you.
Kaneko turned into human while I was packing my stuff to go to school. I opened my room's window and got out from the house quietly. I gave Kaneko a good luck sign before I went to school. I knew if Ririnko finds out that I had snuck out of the house she's going to get really mad. But I rather face her fury than giving troubles to my classmates.
-At class-
Sako: You sneaked out of the house?!
Kato: Shh! There's no need for you to yell.
Hana: What's the ruckus, Sako-chan? Hah! Kato Saguta, you're here! Come in fast! We've been waiting for you!
Kato: H-Hey, wait!
I was pulled by Hana to the cooking area. There I saw Kazuma desperately trying to prepare the meals as fast as he could. When he saw me, he started to cry.
Kazuma: Kato! How dare you let me work alone!
Kato: Haha... I'm sorry. But I'm here now. Let's—
Sako: Wait! Onii-chan!
Sako hold my arm as I walked to the cooking area. She told me stop and go home. I told her I was fine but she was so stubborn and won't let me go.
Kato: Sako...
Sako: I don't care! You're injured! You need to rest!
Kazuma: What? Kato is injured?
Kato: I'll tell you the details later. Sako, listen to me. I know you are worried about me because you care about me. I appreciate your concern but I'm here already. I can't go home now. Everyone needs me.
Sako: But...
Kato: If I feel a little unwell, I'll stop immediately. I promise.
Sako: Fine... You better do, Onii-chan.
Kato: And please don't tell Onee-san about this.
Sako: I will tell her.
Kato: You're joking right?
Sako walked away from the cooking area to serve the customers. I quickly put on my uniform that Wendy made for me. Then I realized that Wendy weren't in the class the time. Kotori and Kireina weren't there as well. I asked Kazuma where they went.
Kazuma: Kireina said she was going to the toilet before you came in. As for Kotori and Kirisaki-san is...
-On the rooftop-
Kotori: I'll only ask you once. Did you have anything to do with what happened to Kato yesterday?
Wendy: I...
