Chapter 54: Fiance
Sako, Kireina and I arrived at home not too long after we left school. When I opened the door, I saw an unfamiliar pair of shoes in front of the door. I also heard people talking in the living room.
Sako: "Sore wa daredarou ka?" (Who could it be?)
Kato: "Shirimasen. Tabun sore wa onēsan no chijindesu" (I don't know. Maybe it's Onee-san's acquaintance.)
Kireina: "Watashitachiha kanshō subekidesu ka?" (Should we interfere?)
Kato: "Hai. Watashitachi wa sukunakutomo sorera o mukaeru hitsuyō ga arimasu." (Ya. We need to greet them at least.)
We walked to the living room and saw Ririnko were talking to a male guest that I don't recognise. Ririnko greet us as we entered the living room.
Ririnko: "Kato, Sako, Kireina watashi o fianse ni shōkai shimashou. Narumi Kazuto." (Kato, Sako and Kireina. Let me introduce you to my fiance. Kazuto Narumi.)
Kazuto: "3-Ri de oaidekiteureshīdesu. Watashi wa Narumi Kazutodesu. Anata no shimai fianse." (I am happy to see three of you. I'm Kazuto Narumi. Your sister's fiance.)
Kato&Sako: "....."
Ririnko: "Dō shimashita ka?" (What's wrong?)
Kato: "Itsu..." (When...)
Ririnko: "1-Kagetsu mae. Watashi wa sudeni sofu ni sore ni tsuite tazunemashita. Kare wa sudeni watashitachi no kankei o kōtei shite imasu." (1 month ago. I already asked grandfather about it. He already affirm our relationship.)
Sako: "Dakara anata wa hōritsu-jō watashi no kyōdai ni narudeshou ka?" (So you'll be my brother in law?)
Kazuto: "Subete ga umaku ikunara, ē. Shimasu." (If everything goes well so yeah. I will.)
Sako and I were shocked for a while. But then we were happy that our big sister found her life partner. Kireina looked confuse for a while and the Sako explained everything to her while I have a conversation with Kazuto. I told him to be careful with Ririnko's cooking. He asked me why but I told him that he will know soon enough.
A few moments later, Kazuto decided to went back to his place. We slowly waved at him while he drives away from our house in his car. When I was about to enter my room, Ririnko suddenly called me and Sako to the living room.
Kato: "Sorehanandesuka, Onee-san?" (What is it?)
Ririnko: "Ore wa kekkon shita nochi, watashi ga mōko no ie ni sunde inai koto o mina ni tsutaetai. Watashi wa sore ga anata no tame ni sukoshi kanashī koto o shitte imasu. Shikashi, kore wa watashi ga erabu monodesu. Anata ga sore de daijōbu ni naru koto o negatte imasu. Okane ni tsuite shinpaishinaide kudasai. Watashi wa sorera o shori shimasu. (I would like to tell everyone that I do not live in this house anymore after I got married. I know that it is a little sad for you. But this is what I choose. I hope that you will be okay with that. Don't worry about the money. I'll handle them.)
Sako: "Okane? Sono sofu no shigoto wa shite imasendeshita ka?" (Money? Isn't that grandfather's job?)
Ririnko: "Sono tōri. Shikashi, kekkon ya shigoto o shite kara sewa o suru no wa watashi no sekinindesu. Shikashi, anata no shiken no sukoa ga hikui baai, watashi wa anata no pokettomanē o kirudeshou. Soshite Katō mo." (That's right. However, it is my responsibility to take care of you after marriage and getting a job. But, if your exam scores are low, I'll cut your pocket money. And also, Kato.)
Kato: "Hai?" (Ya?)
Ririnko: "Sako to Kireina o sewa shite kudasai. Omae wa ore no kekkon no nochi ni kono-ka o tantō shimasu." (Take care of Sako and Kireina. You'll be in charge of this house after my marriage.)
Kato: "Shinpaishinaide kudasai. Anata wa watashi ni tayotte ī." (Don't worry. You can count on me.)
Ririnko: "Watashi wa anata no koto o shitte imasu. Moshi anata ga dekirunara, arubaito o mitsukeru koto ga dekimasu. Sukoshi dokuritsu shita koto o manabu." (I know you will. And find a part time job if you could. Learn to be a little independent.)
Kato&Sako: "Narimasu." (We will.)
Ririnko: "Soshite Kireina." (And Kireina.)
Kireina: "Hai?" (Yes?)
Ririnko: -pat Kireina head- "Arigatōgozaimashita." (Thank you?)
Kireina: "Hmm?"
Ririnko: "Soredewa, anata no shiken ni tsuite kyō. Dōdatta?" (Well then, about your exams today. How was it?)
Kato: "Ashita made enki sa reta." (It was postponed till tomorrow.)
Ririnko: "Ha~a~tsu? Naze?" (Huh? Why?)
Sako: "Shiranai. Sore wa yokoku nashi ni enki sa reta." (We don't know. It was postponed without notice.)
Kireina: "Ya."
Ririnko: "Hmm..."
Ririnko let out a sigh and told us that we can return to our room. I went back to my room and Kaneko turned into his original form and rest on my bed.
Kaneko: "Machigatta Katō wa nanidesu ka? Anata wa shinpai shite imasu." (What's wrong Kato? You looks worried.)
Kato: "Nanimonai, sore wa chōdo watashi wa kore ni tsuite no kanjō o kondō shite iru." (Nothing,it's just I have mixed emotions about this.)
Kaneko: "Anata no imōto no kekkon no tamedesu ka?" (Is it because of your sister's marriage?)
Kato: "Ya..."
Kaneko: "Shinpaishinaide kudasai. Watashi wa anata ga sore o tsūka suru koto o shitte imasu. Anata wa tsuyoi otokodesu. Soshite yoi pātonā." (Don't worry. I know you'll get through it. You're a strong guy. And a good partner.)
Kato: "Arigatō Kaneko." (Thanks Kaneko.)
After that, I took a shower and studied with Sako and Kireina until 10 pm.
