The night after the Yule ball just happened to be Christmas. Lucky for us, it started to snow heavily.
I woke up bright and early. I just sat down on the windowsill and watched the snow fall for a while.
"Pretty isn't it?" Came a voice next to me.
"Yep." I didn't really look at their face but from their voice I knew it was Gracie.
"Merry Christmas (Y/N)."
"Merry Christmas Gracie."
"Here, I got you a present. Well I got you two but here's one." She handed me a small box.
"Aw Thanks." I gave her a hug.
"Open it then!"
"Okay okay!"
I unwrapped the box and opened it up. Inside revealed a locket shaped like a rose.
"Open the locket."
I opened the locket and it emitted a bright light and it pictured a fine memory of Gracie and I.
It was us, 3rd year, playing in the snow and we built a snowman. Eventually, Gracie pushed me into it and we laughed for what feels like a century.
The video then stopped and the locket closed once again.
"Oh Gracie I love it!" I gave her a massive hug and she hugged back.
"Well, I'm gonna go get breakfast." She announced and she plopped to the great hall.
I went to wake up Katie.
"Wakey wakey!" I shook her.
"Hm?"
"Wake up it's Christmas and snowing."
She got up and just breezed to the bathroom.
Somethings up with her.
I ignored it for now and just went to find Gracie. I sat down next to her and all the owls with the post came flying in.
A large present landed in front of me and I read the tag. To Cupcake.
I smiled to myself and put it next to me.
"Hey Gracie?"
"Yeah?" She looked up from her newspaper.
"Is it just me but Katie's been really distant lately?"
"Yeah. She completely ignored me last night when I asked her if she had a quill."
"What do you thinks wrong with her?"
"She did say something about learning a really complex spell or something, she's probably just stressed." Gracie shrugged and went back to her food.

It was time to open presents in our common room as per tradition. We invited Fred and Harrison.
People in our house were in the circle too. Everyone was there but Katie. So odd.
Before the present opening started I asked Harrison about Katie and he just said that she randomly said that she needed a break.
I gave his a hug to reassure him that she still loves him.
We sat in the circle and opened presents.
(All the presents have been opened)
Lastly, I opened Fred's present and inside was a Weasley sweater. It was baby blue and the initial was white.
I smiled and giggled a little.
"Who wants a snow fight?" I offered.
"I'll do it." Came three voices. Cedric, Harrison and Gracie.
"Okay let's go!" We all got jumpers and mittens. I wore my new jumper and pink gloves.
Everyone walked outside and when we were there, I picked up some snow and lobbed it at Cedric.
He looked over and was very surprised and soon after just clicked his tongue and picked up some snow.
I backed away smirking and then ran.
"I'm gonna get you!" He shouted after me.
"Good luck!"
After a lot of snow, violence and the cold, Everyone went back inside and into their rooms.
I changed into my pyjamas and went down to the common room.
"Oh uh hey!" Cedric said from the sofa.
"Hey, I'm going to go to the kitchens to get hot chocolate, so you want anything?"
"Uh Yeah bring me a cup of hot chocolate too!"
"Alright, see ya." I walked to the kitchens and inside the kitchens, I found Fred.
"Oh hi." I said.
He looked startled but soon relaxed. "Hiya cupcake."
"What are you doing here?"
"Could ask you the same." He said back.
"Touché." I started to make two hot chocolates.
"Why two?"
"Ced wanted one." I explained.
"Oh right, pretty boy."
"Wait are you...jealous?" I laughed.
"Why would I be?" He shrugged it off quickly.
"So anyway, how was your Christmas?"
"Good aside from the fact I didn't get a present from you." He joked and pouted.
"I have it, meet me at the astronomy tower at 9."
Then I walked away with two mugs in my hand.
I walked into the common room and only Cedric was there. I handed him a mug and sat down.
"Thanks." He took a sip.
"No problem, so how are you and Cho?"
"Oh uh I broke up with her."
"What why? She's such a nice girl."
"Oh because I still like you." He said in a quiet voice.
I wasn't sure I heard him right. "Pardon?"
"I still like you, Okay." He said louder this time.
I mean I knew he tried to kiss me but I thought he was just caught in the moment.
"I mean I'm flattered but-" he cut me off.
"I know you have a boyfriend, break up with him." He said.
"What. No!"
"Please, I know you still like me, just a little."
I can't believe this fool.
"Cedric." I inhaled. "YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY THAT TO ME! YOU SAID I WAS LIKE A LITTLE SISTER TO YOU! IM FINALLY OVER YOU AND NOW YOU GO AND SAY THAT, I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU." I shouted and slapped him, hard.
I ran back to my dorm and flopped onto my bed. Under my bed was another present. It was in the box Fred have me.
It was a small box and inside it contained a single piece of metal. It looked useless until you touched it.
I touched it gently and a glowing light appeared. I could show any memory of mine in this light.
I took my wand and tapped the metal to show memories of me and Cedric.
I know it's wrong.
To use my boyfriends gift to think of my ex.
I sighed and checked the time on my watch.
8:54.
Shit.
I grabbed Fred's present and dashed to the astronomy tower.
"Sorry...I'm late!" I panted.
"No worries cupcake." He was so relaxed.
"Ok well here." I gave his a big box.
I filled it with prank equipment and small little chocolates.
He did only ask me out yesterday.
I didn't have enough time to get him something special.
"Aw Thanks I love it." He pretended to be all sappy.
I stuck my tongue out at him and we just joked and laughed until midnight.
