Nickolas's pov:
here she was sleeping on the bed looking as pale as a sheet, with a thousand tubes all over her body , with every step i took towards her , my heart broke a little more , once i was close enough i held her hand and leaned my head closer to kiss her soft knuckles , i tried to be as gentle as possible trying not to disturb my sleeping beauty , i stayed with her for a couple of minutes before the nurse came and asked me to leave , after that i went to so my mother which by the way was doing a lot better , the doctor told me that all her vitals were better than before and he said :
"actually in madam's case , the reason why she is in coma is still unknown , it might be because of the concussion she had in the accident but after all this time all her injuries are healed , so we can only conclude that the problem resides in her mental health , so communicating with her right now , might be the best solution , especially since her body is getting better , and that she is showing sings of awareness of her surroundings , so lets pray for a miracle "
so its been three days since the surgery and i have been spending all of my time in the hospital , going between Eva and my mom's room , Eva hasn't waken up yet , and i ended up throwing a fit yesterday asking for an explanation , but they said that her health was fine , and her body is just adapting to the changes that accrued , and she is just resting and not to worry , yesterday they removed all the tubes from her body leaving only the iv drops for fluids and medicine and a breathing aid just in case, and finally her face had regained a bit of color , its almost 4 pm and i could feel myself drifting to sleep in my chair next to Eva's bed while holding her hand , and slowly let sleep engulf me, until i felt her hand tightening around mine and a hoarse voice calling my name
"nick".....
Eva's pov:
i can feel a warmth holding my hand and a gentle kisses all over my face and wrist , but no matter how hard i try i cant open my eyes , i just feel sleepy , its not like i don't want to wake up , but god my body feels heavy and weak , i can hear nick talking to me and asking me to wake up already , i feel bad for putting him through this , i just hope his mother is doing better than i am .
after a lot of struggling i finally was able to move my hand a bit , i tried to open my eyes but the light made me close them involuntarily , stopping from trying again i called nick's name to ask him for help
"Eva ?, Eva can you hear me baby ?" i groaned a bit trying to open my eyes again , but the light hurt like hell , nick must have felt my discomfort as he went to close the curtains he came closer and touched my face gently
"hey baby ? how are you feeling ? are you in pain ? do you need anything ?" i could see the panic in his eyes , but you could still see happiness in them
"water...." he brought me a cup of warm water right away and after drinking a sip i could feel my throat getting better , i saw nick pressing a button behind my head and he came right back and sat down beside me holding my hand with both of his hands , he was staring at me with so much pain and tenderness that it could melt my heart , i lifted my hand pulling the iv drop with it and creased his cheek
"sorry , did i worry you ?" i asked him
"no its okay , you must have been tired , let the doctor come and check on you and after that we will talk okay love "
right after he finished speaking the doctor came in obviously rushing to see what's wrong , when he saw me he sighted out of relief
" miss eva , your awake , how are you feeling any pain or discomfort ?"
"just sleepy , and my back aches i want to move "
"sleepiness in normal don't worry especially in your case , but i am sorry you cant move right now , not until we conduct some tests to make sure that everything is alright , but we can adjust the bed to be more comfortable" nick frowned
"what do you mean in her case , you said everything is normal " i sent the doctor a glare to make sure he doesn't spill anything out of our deal
"ahh its just because miss Eva's body is a bit on the week side that's all " the doctor said while sweating , i can see that nick is not convinced so i tried to divert his attention
"i am hungry , i feel like i haven't eaten in years "
"what can she eat?" nick asked the doctor right away
"nothing oily or heavy , its better if she eats some something simple like soup ,right at the moment "
"got it, i will ask Joana to get some soup ready" i nodded my head to him
after a while the doctor left, leaving me and nick alone , i moved slowly and gave nick some space to sit down , he was staring at my face while creasing my hair
"nick ?"
"yes love "
"its the second time "
"second time what ?" he asked with confusion all over his face
"second time you called me love , why is that ?"
" isn't obvious , its because i am simply deeply crazily in love with you my love "
