Right after she finished the enrollment process, Kiang Leilei went straight to the Security Bureau to submit her notarized written statement.
Initially, her plan was just to tender a copy of her statement then immediately leave.
Unfortunately, the Chief Investigator was still in a meeting and she was requested to wait for him inside his office.
"Excuse me, Miss Kiang. Would you like a cup of tea or coffee? We also have soda and fruit juice." A subordinate of the Chief Investigator offered.
Kiang Leilei shook her head and declined.
"No, thank you."
"Okay, Miss Kiang. If ever you need something, feel free to approach me. I'll go back to my post now."
The guy politely said as he stepped outside the chief's office, leaving Kiang Leilei all by herself.
"What a waste of my precious time!" Kiang Leilei exclaimed impatiently as soon as the person disappeared from her sight.
Before she completely gets annoyed, she decided to send a text message to her grandfather, informing him that she's okay and will be home for about an hour or two.
Her phone immediately rang right after the message was sent.
She automatically swiped right to receive the call, assuming that the call was from her grams.
"Hey, Grams! I'm all good. See you at dinner!" Kiang Leilei said in a cheerful voice.
"Lei..."
As soon as Kiang Leilei heard the voice from the other line, she ended the call right away.
"F*ck! I thought it was grams."
Kiang Leilei hurriedly put her phone to silent and slid it back inside her bag.
"How dare her! After yelling at me, she still has the nerve to call?"
Kiang Leilei' face darkened as she recalled her heated argument with Liu Shenbi earlier.
Really? Yelling at her because of a jerk? How shallow their friendship is!
Her mood suddenly changed thanks to Liu Shenbi's call.
So instead of waiting for the chief investigator, she stood up and walked toward the desk.
She slammed the brown envelope containing her written statement down the table.

Kiang Leilei's eyes sparkled as she looked around to check if someone's looking.
The moment she felt sure that there was no one around, she picked the folder up.

"Miss Europa! Look who's here!" Ai and Bai said cheerily as they called out to Europa.
"Hmmm... I wonder who could my visitor be! Who do you think it is?" Europa put on her thinking face as she talked to her unicorn and llama.
"You guys stay here, okay? I'll just go down and check." Europa said as she marched her way out of her playroom.
As soon as Europa saw who the person was, her lips lifted upward. Showing her dimples and perfectly aligned teeth.
"Mama!" Europa said in a very excited voice as she threw herself into her mother's embrace.
"I miss you, sweetie." Wang Reiji softly said as she planted kisses on Europa's face.
"I miss you too, Mama! I'm so glad you went home early today."
"Err... Mama just went home to have lunch with you." Wang Reiji explained as she patted Europa's head.
"You will go back to work after lunch?" Europa asked with a bit of disappointment in her voice.
"I would love to stay with you but Mama's got tons of work to do. Anyway, where's your uncle?"
"Uncle Yuvin's inside his room, he said he's busy making a contract. Mama, what's a contract?" Europa asked, innocence written all over her pretty face.
"A contract is a written agreement between two or more persons. Can you still remember the promise that the four of us made?"
"The one with our fingerprint on it?"
"Good girl, you still remember. That sweetie can be classified as a contract."
"Ohhhh, I now understand. Thank you, Mama." Europa said as she wrapped her chubby arms around her mother's neck.
Wang Reiji tightly hugged Europa back as her mind wondered. What will Yuvin do with a contract?
"Sweetie, I'll just check your uncle in his room. Ai please help Europa wash her hands clean.Bai, please prepare the food I brought."
"Right away, Boss!" The twins answered in unison as Wang Reiji went upstairs and head to Wang Yuvin's room.

As soon as Kiang Leilei got hold of the folder, her lips curved into a smirk.
"Highly classified information my a*s! Leaving an important document on top of his table? What a dumb cop!"
Kiang Leilei snorted as she scanned through the pages of the document.

The instant Kiang Leilei's eyes landed on a particular page, her heart started hammering her ribcage as she gaped at a picture.
He had the most attractive set of eyes she had ever seen.
There was softness in them but there was also a certain degree of intensity brought by his dark eyebrows.
His high-bridged nose and soft sharp looking lips were also captivating.
His raven black hair was neatly styled into a taper.
This guy was surely attractive, as Kiang Leilei was so mesmerized by the guy, memorizing every part of his face that she almost forgot to check for his name.
The moment she realized and searched for the guy's profile, a hand had already snatched the folder from her hands.
