Taehyung was waitressing the tables in the coffee shop. His brother Seokjin was attending the shop from behind the counter, no words were spoken between the two, just some hard looks coming from the older omega towards the younger.
Taehyung felt angry but Seokjin was angrier. Both are stubborn and aggressive, neither of them wanting to yield to the other.
"I trusted you that you would behave, and you arrive by now?! skipping school and smelling like that alpha all over?!"
Seokjin's angry words were still flooding Taehyung's head, irritating him. Why his brother couldn't understand him? He didn't ask for his heat to come.
"You could have called me saying that! I could have gone to Busan for you!"
Like it was that simple. Seokjin didn't even act like an omega anymore. Doesn't he remember when his heat used to hit him in the worst moments? Yes, he was taking suppressants now, but those meds were dangerous. They could produce infertility, irritability, depression, and even cancer.
There was no way Taehyung would take suppressants, even when Jin was almost forcing him to take them, to prevent heat and unwanted pregnancy.
"Just take suppressants Tae! I don't want you to make the same mistakes I did back then! Now you at least have me to take care of you! I had no one!"
The same speech all over again. Taehyung had just rolled his eyes at his brother. He wasn't at fault Seokjin had gone through all that when he was a teen, he wasn't at fault that their father was an alcoholic who hated his sons, or at least that was what Taehyung thought about him.
"How could you let a guy you barely know to mark you!!! Don't you have self-respect?! You're acting just like Jaeduck!!!"
But Seokjin had to mention their father. Kim Jaeduck. Taehyung had never felt so angry with his older brother before. That's why Taehyung snapped.
"Shut the fuck up! I'm not a fucking kid, you were the one who got knocked up at fifteen! You didn't even take care of yourself during your heats so don't come with that bullshit now! I'm not stupid like you and Joon! And whatever I do with my body doesn't concern you!"
He had yelled to his brother and the only reason he did shut up was when Jin's hand slapped his face, making him turn with a whine and teary eyes. Seokjin was the same, eyes teary and face conflicted. He had never hit his brother before.
They haven't talked since then.
Taehyung was still working his shift in the coffee shop, but a tense silence surrounded them. Still, he was thankful that Namjoon haven't mentioned to Jin that the alpha Taehyung was seeing was actually Jeon Jeongguk, that would probably cause a war in the house, and the only alpha in there was trying to avoid that at all costs, even when that meant to hide information from his husband.
The moment Taehyung's shift ended, he took off his apron and left it in the back store, just leaving the coffee shop, not sparing a glance or word to his brother. He just wanted to sleep. But before he could close his eyes, his phone beeped announcing a message.

The next day was warmer than usual, spring blossoming in all places. Still, Taehyung was wearing his colorful scarf to cover the mark on his neck, every step making the pompons at the borders move gracefully just like the owner. He has dressed in a simple long sleeve pale beige shirt and skinny black jeans. But somehow it made him look like he was glowing.
Perhaps was the fact that he felt more contented than usual. And it had everything to do with a certain alpha he was expecting to see. Maybe it was the mate bond, but Taehyung kept craving Jeongguk like crazy.
The male omega headed to the library first to return some books he borrowed last week. That was his first clue about the gossip surrounding him.
While he was waiting for the librarian who was attending to another student, he felt stares at him. With a light frown, he glanced over where students he didn't even know were blatantly staring at him, murmuring things.
Taehyung clicked his tongue in annoyance and ignored them, it wasn't unusual for him to be stared at or to be the unwanted center of attention. It was some of the handicaps of being a male omega.
It wasn't until he reached his classroom that he realized what were the murmurs about.
Jeongguk and him.
Jeongguk and Jaebum.
Him cheating on Jaebum.
Him being a slut.
Him being a gold digger.
Taehyung frowned, his heart beating harshly against his chest. Did they think about him that low? He knew he did betray Jaebum, but he apologized to him. Then why was everyone getting involved in someone else life that easily? Judging without knowing better.
The omega was sure the rumors about the fight between the two alphas had spread like wildfire across the university, especially if it was involving someone famous like Jeon Jeongguk and someone as popular on the campus as Jaebum.
He decided to not pay further attention to the venomous people who were talking about him behind his back. He sat alone in the second row of the lecture hall, trying hard to act normal and tough, even when almost a hundred other students were probably eyeing his back and bad-mouthing him.
No one was sitting close to him. They were avoiding him like he was the carrier of a mortal disease. Taehyung was used to being alone, but he couldn't help but feel hurt.
Why did it hurt being rejected by people he didn't even care about?
He started to feel suffocated, and unsteady. Like he couldn't sit still in his place, even when he wasn't moving at all. His heart wouldn't calm down, and it was starting to cause him anguish. He felt his body going numb, cold sweat on his back, and the urge of running away from that classroom.
But the sudden loud thud of somebody sitting next to him, dropping their bag and leaving a pack of strawberry milk on his desk, brought him back from smothering.
Taehyung glanced to his side and saw Jimin with the gentler smile and sweetest eyes he had ever seen.
"Can I sit here?" Jimin asked softly, opening the pack of milk and taking one of the little bottles of strawberry milk, putting a straw on it.
Taehyung smiled looking for a moment at Jimin's cute and small hands. "Definitely," he said making Jimin smile with a soft hum.
"Like strawberry milk?" Jimin asked sipping from his bottle.
He was obviously trying to act normal, ignoring the people talking behind their backs, but Taehyung never have been more thankful before. He was sure Jimin was his guardian angel.
"I love it actually," the omega said taking one bottle and doing the same with the straw. "Thank you Jimin," he said with a faint blush on his cheeks.
Jimin smiled softly, his eyes showing a bit of sadness in them. He sighed "Whatever dramas are going on in my life, I always find that place inside my head where I see myself all strong, loved, and really tall. I'm invincible in there"
Taehyung smiled weakly looking at the bottle of milk in his hands. "I guess sometimes I do let myself be affected by hurtful words"
"That's normal Tae, I do too" Jimin replied, eyes darting from Taehyung's hands to his pretty blue eyes. "And you know what's even more hurtful?"
Taehyung shook his head now making eye contact with the alpha next to him.
"Envy" Jimin replied briefly turning his head to see a bunch of people discretely looking at them "Probably 90% of these people are envious of you. Don't waste your time with them. Surround yourself with happy, warm, and genuine people," the alpha said letting out a small giggle.
"I think you just described yourself" Taehyung joked raising an eyebrow playfully at Jimin who blushed softly, sipping his strawberry milk.
"What can I say? I'm pretty awesome" Jimin said gaining a light punch and a giggle from the omega.
"At least in your mind you can be taller" Taehyung teased with a lively laugh making Jimin gasp offended.
"I'm older than you! Show me some respect!" Jimin nagged jokingly at the omega who continued to laugh at the alpha silliness.
Soon they were interrupted by Namjoon who entered the lecture hall with messy hair and sweat, fixing his tie and his books. He was never late, and Taehyung could guess it had something to do with Seokjin.
"Professor Kim looks... messy" Jimin whispered making Taehyung grin.
"Blame my brother" the omega smirked. Jimin nodded with a grin, eyes disappearing into thin lines, making him look adorable to the omega's eyes.
That was one of the numerous times Taehyung felt grateful for Park Jimin's mere existence. His soul twin.

By the time lunch came, Taehyung was really over the gossiping people. Jimin had managed to cheer him up with wise words, and Jeongguk's classes were almost over so they could see each other soon.
He wouldn't pay more attention to the idiotic people calling him a cheating omega anymore. He even heard some seniors talking about him, how he was using his amazing beauty to charm the Jeons' heir and go after his wealth. That made him laugh honestly.
Now he was just laughing about people's stupidity.
And just by thinking about stupidity, he ran into a group of girls he knew well. Jennie and her cheerleader squad. And she looked mad? Taehyung sighed heavily, knowing what was coming.
"How dare you Kim Taehyung cheat on Jaebum?!" Jennie's voice echoed all over the university's casino. Taehyung wanted to slap her.
"Are you Jaebum's secretary now?" Taehyung scoffed putting his sandwich in his bag along with the coke, he wasn't going to eat there with all the noisy people.
Jennie rolled his eyes, putting her hands on her small waist and looking defiantly at Taehyung.
"You know? I always thought of you as a nice person, even when people kept saying you are a passive-aggressive narcissist just like any other male omega" she said with a smirk. "I guess I was wrong, you disrespected Jaebum and hurt him! He hasn't been in his football practices since the fight with Jeon Jeongguk! And you're to blame! You may be pretty from the outside but you're ugly on the inside!" she said pressing her index finger against his chest.
Taehyung sighed heavily again, already done with the girl. Jennie was putting her nose where she didn't belong, but Taehyung could find some of her words to be true. Jaebum didn't deserve a betrayal. He was nothing but caring towards the omega. Taehyung's biggest mistake was to give Jaebum hope and lead him on, even when he never truly liked him.
Taehyung thought he wouldn't like anybody actually, but everything changed when he met Jeongguk. That alpha made his heart twirl and his knees go weak.
"One, don't be nosy, it doesn't look good," Taehyung said looking down at the girl and stepping closer, looking rather intimidating for an omega. "Two, you should be happy that Jaebum is single, you can hit on him freely now," he said with a grin making the girl frown looking to each side of her, to her friends who were whispering things between them. "And three, don't touch me ever again" he commanded slapping her tiny hand away from him, walking away from the group of girls that were gasping and murmuring about the male attitude.
Jennie was left standing with her mouth agape, fists clenching, and a light furrow in her perfectly shaped eyebrows.
"Prick" she scoffed.
Taehyung was never an aggressive person, but he was so fed up at that moment that if another stupid person comes at him to talk bullshit, he will punch them.
With a loud sigh and a hard thud, he let himself fall onto a bench, his golden blonde hair moving elegantly with the light air. He ran his fingers through his locks studying his surroundings. Just a few people around the patio, just talking or too submerge in their books or laptops.

"Here you are, I was looking for you everywhere!" a high-pitched voice said making Taehyung look up at the owner of such an annoying voice.
A girl who he didn't recognize was standing there with a glare in her eyes and cat ears in her head. Taehyung frowned glancing over to his sides, confused about why this weird girl was actually talking to him.
The girl was still glaring, waiting for him to respond. Taehyung rose his eyebrows with a pout.
"Are you talking to me?" he asked, confusion painted all over his pretty face.
The girl rolled her eyes. "Well duh? We need to talk"
"Do I know you?" Taehyung asked, the same expression remaining on his face. The girl scoffed in disbelief like he was insane or something.
"Are you living in a bubble? I'm the famous Mai Lee"
"Never heard of you," he said with a bored tone, his eyes looking away from her to his phone. That seemed to piss the girl even more, who snatched the phone out of his hands dropping it on the ground. "Hey! What the fuck?!" he snapped bending over to pick up his phone, just to stand in front of the girl, looking taller than ever.
"You deserved it for making a guy beat my Jeonggukie oppa and leave nasty bruises on his handsome face!" she shouted, hands on her waist and looking up at the omega with a scowl.
Taehyung sighed heavily for the hundredth time that day. "Not another one..." he muttered to himself, sitting on the bench again, trying to ignore the annoying girl in front of him.
"Yah! Don't ignore me! I'm gonna be Jeonggukie oppa's wife in the future!" she growled in a very high-pitched tone, making Taehyung cover his ears. "Stay away from my Jeonggukie! Or I'm making your life miserable!" she yelled again, now gaining attention from fellow students who were looking at her strangely.
"Listen" Taehyung began to say, completely fed up. "I don't have time or the energy to deal with crazy idiots like yourself so please can you do me a favor and fuck off?" the omega said, his blue eyes looking bored at the girl, arms crossed against his chest.
Mai Lee gasped, frowning and getting redder in anger. "How dare you talk to me like that?! You're just a worthless omega! I'm a beta, you should pay respect to me!"
Taehyung laughed, he fucking laughed right in Mai's face.
Looking at her with pity and thrill. That made the beta girl even angrier, her face all red as she rose her hand trying to slap the omega in the face. That took Taehyung by surprise and couldn't react sooner, so he just closed his eyes flinching lightly, but the slap never came.
When he opened his eyes, he saw Mai Lee stunned, her raised arm held by Jeongguk, who was looking angrily at her at the moment, veins popping out of his neck and arms. And Taehyung could swear he saw shades of red sparkling in his dark eyes.
"You lie a finger on my mate and I'm gonna rip your head off" the alpha growled with a husky voice, throaty and darker than usual, making both the omega and the beta feel chills on their body for such a demanding voice. And he wasn't even using his alpha tone.
Mai Lee was speechless for several minutes, her eyes starting to water as she was looking at the floor embarrassed for being caught by Jeongguk.
"Oppa... h-he called me an idiot and laughed at me... I was just d-defending myself" the girl whined not daring to look the alpha in the eye.
"Can you blame me?" Taehyung mocked, amused by the girl's absurdity. Just when he thought a person couldn't be more stupid Mai Lee had to appear.
Mai Lee repressed the urge to yell at the omega again, biting her lips and clenching her fists, glaring at the male.
"Tae" Jeongguk warned looking at the omega with a stern look. "Listen, Mai Lee, Taehyung is my boyfriend, whether you like it or not. So you better cut this crap now or I'm telling on you to Min Wonho and he will send you back to Japan, you know it"
"I'm sorry..." she said choking on a sob.
"Say sorry to him, not me"
"What? But oppa..." she whined again but the deadly look in the alpha's eyes made her gulp. "Fine, sorry" She faked a smile to the omega who grinned back at her.
With a final glare, the girl ran from the scene. Taehyung chuckled at that.
"Tae, don't be mean, she's a bit emotionally unstable according to Yoongi," Jeongguk said taking Taehyung by his hands.
"Yoongi? Don't tell me that psycho is related to him" Taehyung scoffed again, letting Jeongguk take his hands, despite the look they were getting from the people in their surroundings.
"Not by blood" Jeongguk laughed. "His father married her mother," he said, and Taehyung made an 'o' shape with his mouth, raising both eyebrows in surprise.
"I'm breaking up with you then," the omega said with a serious tone of voice making the alpha open his eyes widely.
"Why?!" Jeongguk pouted pulling Taehyung up again with his hands just to grab his waist and hug him closer to his body.
"I'm not dealing with your crazy fangirls" the omega replied with a pout, but the alpha could sense he was just joking.
"You're heartless" Jeongguk joked back. "I had to suck it up when your ex punched me like a mad caveman"
"Are you still throwing that to my face?" Taehyung punched the alpha's chest lightly making him smirk.
"I would do it over and over again for you," he said almost in a whisper, leaning his face closer to the omega to capture his lips.
But Taehyung freaked out, there were too many stares, too many people watching, and too many people that would later gossip about them.
Therefore he stopped Jeongguk firmly with his hands, avoiding him to get any closer. Jeongguk furrowed his eyebrows and grimaced.
"Can we go somewhere else?" Taehyung asked, eyes squinting everywhere but Jeongguk. "It's been a long day," he said and Jeongguk just gave him a weak smile nodding.
Jeongguk dragged Taehyung to the rooftop of the library. No one was there, it was quiet and peaceful, just the breeze blowing lightly on them.
Taehyung felt Jeongguk's body warm behind him, strong arms wrapping around his waist holding him tightly and the alpha's chin on his shoulder. Taehyung smiled, never he had felt so loved before, so safe...
"I have to tell you something" Jeongguk whispered in his ear, warm breath tickling the omega, making him shiver.
"Hmm?" Taehyung just hummed, enjoying the closeness with the alpha, the warmth.
"I want to tell the world you're mine," Jeongguk said with a loving voice, almost in a whisper.
Taehyung turned to look at him. Jeongguk's dark eyes were shining stars while looking at the omega, they were almost pleading for acceptance. To secure him that Taehyung was his.
Seeing Jeongguk made his head spin, and hearing his voice made his stomach flutter. Taehyung couldn't help but feel so enticed by the alpha, those dark big eyes that could hold the whole universe in them. The way he moves, how he stands, how he effortlessly looks so handsome.
Taehyung could watch his perfection all day.
Suddenly no one else matter, Jeongguk was the only thing that mattered to Taehyung. The only person, the only one. He wanted to claim him as his too, feel proud of walking with him in the university holding hands, screaming at everyone that Jeon Jeongguk was his.
"Okay..." The omega said in an almost shy way.
Jeongguk opened his eyes widely and smiled. "Really?"
Taehyung nodded with a gentle smile, tugging Jeongguk's black t-shirt to pull him closer for a kiss. Jeongguk gladly obeyed, hands on the omega's waist and lips pressing against the omega's soft ones. Kissing Jeongguk was heaven.
They lost the track of time every time they kiss, and this time was no different. And after doing the mating bond, their kisses felt sweeter, the tingles felt electric and their happiness was intense and overwhelming.
In the aftermath, Taehyung walked holding Jeongguk's hand, ignoring the stares and the whispers, just walking together down the hallway with smiles on their faces.
First love was funny like that, it stab you like a sunset blade, hitting with a blaze of colors, warm oranges, lively pinks, and gleaming purples and that was exactly what Taehyung and Jeongguk were feeling.
