As the days past Elijah has been becoming more and more distant. Even though he said he didn't want to be around me, he still answered the phone when I called but for the last two days he hasn't.
I have a job out of the country again and I need to know if I can leave Delilah with him or not. Quincy and the boys are busy with their lives so they can't watch her, Bakari left to visit his mother in Uganda.
"Hey my baby" I smile as Delilah throws herself into my arms
"Hi mama!" she giggles kissing my cheek then ran away
"Hi Geovani" I wave as he closed the front door
Geovani comes to pick up and drop off Delilah daily so she can spend time with Elijah.
"Hello Lauren" he nods "Mr.Alessandro has informed me to ask you to make something by the name of Monkey bread. He asked that you make two and bring it to the Bosses house later today"
"Okay" I nod confused "but I don't have a car at the moment so how would I bring it?"
"He as also asked me to be your driver for the day"
He thought of everything I guess
"Alright, you can relax in the living room until I'm done. My Netflix is connected to the tv if you'd like to watch anything"
"Geo!" Delilah yells holding the remote running to him "toons peas"
"I believe I'll be watching cartoons with the little one" he shakes his head as Delilah takes his hand leading him to the living room
After a while of them going back and forth on what to watch they settled on the princess and the frog.

Holding one of the dishes in my hand I walked behind Geovani and Delilah.
I don't know why I didn't just give Geo the two dishes and let him bring them to Alex, I wasn't thinking.
"Geovani take these to Alex, I'll wait in the car" I try to hand it off to him but he refused to take it as the front door opens

Elijah looks at us briefly before watching away disappearing into his office.
Delilah and I took the dishes into the kitchen finding Alexander sitting on the counter eating grapes.
"Ah Bella, you came" he smiles as jumped off the counter hugging me "I'm so glad you made it, Eli asked Mary to make this and half of it wasn't cooked. Poor lady got the curse out of a lifetime"
He takes the dish I had and rips the cover off taking a piece of the bread biting into it, moaning loudly he thanks me before going into the living room.
"Go see Dada" Delilah says trying to hold my hand and carry the plate
"Hold it with both hands babe" I told her as we went down the hall
I can do this. Just tell him how I feel then ask him if he could watch Delilah for three days.
"Mama" Delilah whispers as the doors open, looking down at her I hummed in response going into Elijah's office "give kissy"
What?
"Hi Dada" she yells walking in
"Hello princess" he waves staring at his computer screen
We both went to the side of his desk. He looks at Delilah pointing to the covered plate.
"What's that?" he asks
"Memo breed" she says confidently
Laughing at her failed attempt to say Monkey bread, I gained Elijah's attention.
Aw damn
"Alex told me about Mary's failed attempt to make it and asked me to make it for you" I tell him as Delilah gave it to him
She whispers kissy again pointing to Elijah as she ran out the room.
Girl..
"I also need to ask for a favor" I mumble as he leans back in his chair crossing his arms "I would've text it to you but my messages won't go through and I'm positive that you didn't block me because my calls go through you just don't answer"
Elijah sighs rolling his eyes.
"I have to leave out of the country and I need someone to watch Delilah, I was hoping you'd do it"
He scoffs shaking his head no.
"Please it's just for three days, I really need to do this job. It pays well and God knows I need the money" I stress
"Why don't you ask Montana" he hiss coldly as his accent laces itself in his words
"You've got to be kidding me" I mumble dragging my hands down my face "Can you not go there? All I need is for you to watch her for three days and that's it."
"Should've thought about that before you kissed him" he shrugs
"Bro are you serious right now? I understand that I hurt you by kissing Montana but you have to realize that's the same feeling I had when you chose that girl over me—not that I'm trying to justify my actions but I'm just trying to make you understand, I needed you bad that day and I couldn't count on you because—the only difference is how your treating me after everything that happened, I forgave you the second you put me out even though I was hurt emotionally and physically I forgave you" I sigh deeply as I walked around the room
"I never felt love before so I truly don't know if that's what I feel for you but I do know my feelings for you run deep. I mean think about, my last boyfriend used me for what I could provide for him and my body. I thought that was love but I've come to my senses and realized it wasn't. My own parents didn't love me not even my twin loved me, they hated me with everything in them so who was I suppose to learn what love was from? I'm not asking for you to take me back and pretend nothing ever happen but I am asking for you to give me time on this love thing, I'm confused about what it is and how it all works. You told me to figure out what I want and I was never confused about it, I want to be with you but I'm also scared that if I do start to love you, you'll leave me again. I don't want to experience that kind of hurt ever again, it would break me"
Taking a seat on his couch I put my hands over my face as I controlled my breathing, I kind of worked myself up.
"Some peas" I heard a tiny voice whisper, looking at the door quickly I seen Alex and Delilah peeking in eating what's left of his bread
"I think she sees us, run" Alex whisper yells moving out of sight
Shaking my head I got up as Elijah did the same coming towards me, his face held no emotion as he clinches his fist.
It feels like every moves in slow motion as I flinch covering my face, the memory of Tray punching me in the face flows through my brain.
Don't be weak
"I'm not going to hurt you" Elijah whispers as he pulls me into him "I would never put my hands on you in that kind of way"
I nod wiping my tears as quickly as they came, Elijah let's me go taking his seat again. He tugs at my leggings pulling me closer.
"When do you leave?" Elijah asks after a while of rubbing my side, looking up at me I could see the bags under his eyes
"Tomorrow" taking his face in my hands I tilted it side ways looking at how pale and tired he looked "have you been sleeping?"
"Yes" he nods moving my hands away
"He's lying" Alex whispers loudly from the hall
"Don't lie to me" I grumble
"I believe I have insomnia" Elijah sighs rubbing his temple "without you it's hard to fall asleep"
Nodding I moved his hair out of his face.
"I can relate to that, it's nearly impossible to go to sleep without you"
"Kissy!" Delilah yells peeking in again
"No" I laugh as Elijah stood up and gave me a bone crushing hug
"She can stay tonight so you don't have to worry about getting her ready in the morning"
"Okay"
Leaving his office with him right behind me I went to the front door ready to leave.
"No!" Delilah whines running in front of us trying to push the door close but because she's so tiny it barely moves so she hugged both of my legs preventing me from leaving. "Night night with Dada"
"No baby, I have to go" I remove her tiny arms from around me and took a step towards the door
"No!" She whimpers getting ahold of my hand, she tried to pull me towards the elevator screaming for Elijah to come with us
"Just stay" he sighs closing the door "hearing my princess scream my head off because you didn't stay the night is not on my todo list"
"Tanks, Dada" Delilah hugs his legs then jumps up to press the elevator button
