Three years Later...
OLIVER QUEEN-
"You have an appointment at twelve, Mr. Queen, so I suggest you compose yourself." Jenna, Oliver's secretary snapped.
Oliver rolled her eyes and pried the blonde that clung to his side off of him. "Have a little fun, Love. Live a little." He slurred, throwing his uptight secretary a grin.
"I'm not covering for you anymore, Queen, fix your own problems." Jenna shouted, her green eyes shooting daggers at Oliver as her temper flared.
"Jenna-"
"I'm done." Jenna slammed the door as she left Oliver's office.
Oliver ran a hand through his dark blonde hair. "I've really done it now." He mumbled, forgetting that the blonde was still seated next to him.
"Who cares, live a little." The blonde advised, throwing Oliver's line back at him.
Oliver pressed a quick kiss to the blonde's red lips, but then pulled away. "I've got to... go..." He mumbled, tossing his drink aside.
FELICITY SMOAK-
"Mommy, I wanna go outside!" Jonas whined, his blue eyes giving Felicity a puppy dog stare.
"It's time for bed, Jonas." Felicity's said sternly, trying to hide her smile.
The two year old hung his head. "Can I watch TV first?" He asked hopefully.
Felicity bit her lip. She had a few files to decrypt, so perhaps Jonas could watch TV while finished up her work. Before she could answer, Megan stampeded into the room, her blonde hair flying in all directions.
"I WANNA WATCH TV!" She yelled, earning a scolding from her mother.
"Both of you may watch for ten minutes, but then it's bed time." Felicity said, feeling a headache coming on. The twins were hard to manage, especially on her own.
Felicity's phone rang suddenly, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Hello?" She asked, unable to keep the annoyance out of her voice.
"Ah, Felicity." Felicity smiled as she realized Ray was calling her. Ray was Felicity's... friend.
"Hey, Palmer." Felicity chirped, calling him by his last name.
"I need you to come down to Starling City, I really need you." Ray said, catching Felicity off guard.
"What?! Why Starling City?!" Felicity was alarmed- Ray lived down the street from her, and he had ever mentioned Starling City before.
"I know my new project," Ray said excitedly, "take over Queen Consolidated."
Felicity almost dropped the phone. "Ray, I-"
"That douche bag, Queen, is to drunk to run his own company. And with all the girls he has, he'll never even see me coming." Ray said confidently.
"Oh." Felicity felt her heart drop at the mention of Oliver.
"At least think about it? I'm meeting with the board next week and I could really use you there, Licity." Ray pleaded, calling Felicity by her nickname unique to him.
"Ok." Felicity croaked, hanging up the phone.
OLIVER QUEEN-
Oliver adjusted his bow so the bow string was tight. Throwing on his hood, he let Diggle know he was heading out.
Diggle cradled his daughter, Sara, in one arm. "Alright man, I'll be watching." He answered, staring at the computer screen.
Sara had died the same day Felicity had left, and it had sent Oliver over the edge. He hasn't been the same since that day, but frankly, he doesn't care.
As Oliver spotted the target, he jumped down from his rooftop and let his arrow fly.
"You have failed this city." Oliver stated airily, lowering his bow carelessly as the man crumpled to the ground.
"Man, you can't kill people like that." Diggle snapped in Oliver's ear.
Rolling his eyes, Oliver turned his earpiece off. He didn't want to hear it from Diggle.
His phone went off, breaking the silence.
"Hello?" He growled.
"Oliver, someone has sent in a request to the board of Queen Consolidated." Jenna was frantic.
"So?" Oliver snapped, aggravated at being interrupted.
"So, you're going to lose your company!"
Oliver let out a breath. "I'm coming."
FELICITY SMOAK-
The next morning, Felicity was leaving her twins with a sitter that she trusted- her friend Mary from MIT.
"And don't forget that Jonas needs to run around a lot to get rid of his energy- oh, and Megan gets sunburned easily, and-"
"Felicity, I'm fine. You go help Ray." Mary reassured her friend.
"I don't know if I can." Felicity looked down at the ground shamefully.
"Oh?" Mary looked at Felicity in anticipation.
"Did I ever tell you about the father of the twins?" Felicity asked, knowing very well that she had never told anyone.
"No way! Ray is the father?!" Mary jumped up in surprise.
"No. The father is Oliver Queen." Felicity mumbled.
"WHAT?!?" Mary screeched, cashing Felicity to cover her friend's mouth.
"Shhh, they're sleeping." She scolded, blushing madly.
"You're telling me, that that man whore is the-"
"He's not a man whore," Felicity defended, "what they say about him in the tabloids isn't true."
"Felicity, Oliver Queen is bad news. Whatever relationship you had with him is over. Now go help the man who really cares about you." Mary advised.
Slowly, Felicity nodded. "I'll see you in a few days."
OLIVER QUEEN-
Oliver smoothed out his suit. "Wait, so you're saying I don't have a chance?"
"Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. The board is dying to overthrow you." Jenna clarified.
"And you? What do you think?" Oliver pressed, looking Jenna in the eyes.
"I think you're irresponsible, reckless, and you don't deserve this company. But then again, you don't have a bad heart." Jenna told him in a matter-o-fact tone.
"Fair enough." Oliver mused, glad that his secretary had an ounce of good to say about him. Oliver knew that he didn't deserve his company- but that didn't mean he couldn't turn things around.
"Now, don't you dare be late." Jenna said, dismissing Oliver.
Once he was hooded up, Oliver headed to The Glades to stop some common street thugs. Lately, he had been in the habit of carelessly killing, and he was going to break that habit. He knew better.
Oliver wandered around the dark subterranean train station with his bow in hand. It wasn't long before trouble found him.
A man dragged a woman into a corner, taking her from where she exited the train. Oliver raced through the crowed of people- who gladly got out of his way.
"Let. Her. Go." He said, narrowing his eyes at the man. His eyes widened when he got a closer look at the woman.
Felicity stood, pinned against a wall, her blue eyes widened in fear.
"Felicity..." Oliver felt as if the wind had just been knocked out of him, and a familiar pang filled his heart.
"Hi."
The man holding Felicity looked between Felicity and Oliver and took off running. Oliver didn't bother to stop him. It was as if he were frozen.
Felicity's long blonde hair was straightened and fell to her waist. She wore a tight black dress and matching heels. She pulled her red lips into a small smile.
"Thanks, Arrow." She whispered. Their eyes met for a second, and Oliver felt an instant connection.
"Are you hurt?" He asked finally, trying to snap himself out of the trance he was in.
"I'm fine. I mean, a little shaken up but physically I am fine..." Felicity babbled quickly, tucking a strand of blonde behind her ear.
Oliver shifted his weight uneasily. He had dreamed of finding Felicity; of seeing her- and now that it was happening, he didn't know what to do.
"Bye." Felicity mumbled, pushing past him and heading up the escalator.
FELICITY SMOAK-
Felicity rushed away before the tears came. Seeing Oliver, The Arrow, only made everything more real. She should never have come.
"Felicity! There you are!" Ray called from where he stood by the top of the escalator. Felicity rushed to him and embraced him.
Ray had the capability to make things better, but now he couldn't make Felicity forget about Oliver. His piercing blue eyes haunted her.
"Let's go, huh? We don't want to be late." Ray told her, taking her hand and rushing to where a cab was waiting. Felicity cringed as she realized Oliver would most likely be late.
Felicity felt her knees go weak once she arrived at Queen Consolidated. Memories flooded her senses.
"I think it's down here..." Ray directed, trying to lead Felicity down a long hallway.
"It's up this elevator, actually. Level four." Felicity corrected, earning a look of surprise from Ray.
"How do you know?" He asked curiously as they stepped into the elevator.
"I-um- I worked for Oliver and did what pleased him. I mean- no, that came out wrong. I was his secretary. I held his calls." Felicity sputtered, turning bright red.
Ray simply looked at her, his jaw working. Felicity shivered at his cold expression.
The elevator doors opened and Ray rushed out, pushing past Felicity, and headed to the left.
"You're going the wrong way again." Felicity called after him, and before she could see his reaction, she scurried to the board room.
"Felicity?" Mark, one of Felicity's coworkers asked, standing up.
"Hey." Felicity greeted softly, taking a seat at the end of the table.
Felicity recognized Oliver standing, his back facing away from her, standing with a pretty brunette woman. At the sound of her name, he whirled around.
Felicity's heart froze as Oliver's eyes landed on her. His expression was enigmatic; unreadable. His hair hand gotten slightly darker, but otherwise he was the same. As always, he looked stunning in a suit and tie.
Ray marched in and took a seat next to Felicity, gaining everyone's eyes.
Oliver began the meeting. "Felicity Smoak, I was not aware that you were accompanying Mr. Palmer." His tone was cold as ice.
"Did you not expect your secretary to quit when you turned into a drunk playboy? It is my understanding that you haven't even shown up to work in months." Ray said snidely.
Oliver's expression didn't change. "You know nothing."
"Oh? I know that you are irresponsible, not fit to run a company, and you don't even speak your family. You're barely a Queen." Ray continued, getting gasps from the board.
"How dare you come here and accuse me of such things." Oliver's blue eyes blazed.
"What he means to say, is that he would be more capable of running your company. Ray is ready and capable to rebuild this city, using Queen Consolidated, to make Starling City a better place." Felicity stood up, keeping her eyes fixed on Oliver's.
"Yet he can't even speak for himself and he needs his girlfriend to clarify for him." Oliver sneered, tossing Ray a triumphant smirk.
This only fired Ray up even more.
"How dare you say that to Felicity. She isn't just my girlfriend, she is my partner-"
"Mr. Palmer, with all due respect, I'm asking you to leave." Oliver's brunette secretary cut in, touching Oliver's arm lightly.
I decided to continue without writing a sequel :) This story may have a sequel, but right now I decided to keep it one story. Hope you liked the chapter.
What did you think about Oliver's reaction? Why is he being so cold after dreaming about Felicity for so long?
