3:15 PM, Outside the school entrance
When Sera turned her head after John greeted her, The vivid images popped up in her head, reminding her of what John did this morning.
Why would he do something like that?
Sera thought to herself. She couldn't believe that masked student was John, the one that everyone have been fearing their life for. Countless questions have been continually asked inside her head. And by that... she realized that she actually doesn't know John at all
"John..." Sera greeted back halfheartedly
"Sooo... How was your day? Did you lose some sleep again? Your face looks really pale you know..." Said John
"No... It's nothing. Anyway I heard the news today, they say that the Joker succeeded in dethroning the royals. What do you think about that?"
After Sera asked that question, she suddenly remembered what John said the other day
"Okay, sure... But whatever Joker's done so far isn't anything new. Not for us anyway"
"We've all been publicly beaten before, we've been sent to the infirmary countless times"
"...and we don't always know who our attackers are either. It sucks... But he's just been doing what everyone else has been doing"
Is that how he really feel about the hierarchy? Is that the reason as to why John brutalized all those royals? But there was still a fact missing and it was bugging her. Why did John hide his ability all this time?
But John only sighed. He was trying really hard to not break his 'cripple' persona, only to him then trying to change the topic at hand
"You're really interested in this whole 'Joker' thing do you?... Sera, I'm just a cripple. What I think won't matter anyway" Said John
"I still want your opinion on it... wether it doesn't matter or not"
They both went completely silent for a moment. The mood have gotten too tense for John. It felt like Sera was putting him on the spot. But John finally broke the silence by answering her
".... I think they deserved it anyway. They know that the low-tiers are getting abused by those that are superior... but they chose to stand idle. They're just getting a taste of their own medicine, if you ask me" Answered John with his expression slightly darkened
So that's how you really feel about it? But does it have to be this way? Maybe there's also some hatred involved...
"You know John... If there's something troubling you, you can always talk to me. I'll listen." Hinted Sera. She wanted to give him a final chance to confess it all by himself
"Oooookay? Sera why are you acting like this? What are you thinking about?"
But John still tried his hardest to hide it. After that point, Sera didn't have any other options than to just confront to him about it
"John, the thing is... I witnessed Joker fight the royals this morning and... I've come to the conclusion that Joker is... you"
"W-What? Why do you think that?" Said John nervously... He was also panting lightly. It felt like he was being interrogated, when he isn't
"Joker's glowing eyes... his dark black aura, and most importantly... his fighting stance."
Sera stated. She'd be ashamed of herself if she couldn't identify her best friend by the things she just mentioned. John is even more nervous now. His sight went straight pass me like I was non-existent. Is he that afraid of the truth?
"It's okay John... I'm not mad or anything, I just... I just want to know why you're doing all this. The reason you brutalized those royals, and why you hid your powers from me this whole time.."
"Y-you saw me fight the Royals?"
John was suddenly hyperventilating heavily in front of Sera, and any of her responses doesn't get through to him anymore. He suddenly fell unconscious, but Sera caught him just in time before John fell and hit the ground
"J-John? Are you okay? Hey John?!" Shouted Sera while furiously tapping his head hoping that he would wake up, but to no avail...
