He said looking at her for a second while pointing at her with his arm, but was shocked when he saw her. "Oh my god-" he gasped and looked back at her parents immediately his eyes widen. "I-I think we should head out now..." He gulped and looked at Areum. "Come on." He mouthed reaching his arm out for her.
Areum tried not to burst out into laughter as well as her mother. She noticed how nervous he was and took his hand to leave, she said goodbye to her parents. The door closed behind them and she laughed in his face. "You are so bad at talking" she said pointing at his face. She cleared her throat and crossed her arms. "But...you haven't said anything about how I look tonight" she pouted and looked away from him.
He breathed heavily as he was finally outside and sighed deeply. "I thought I was going to die..." He mumbled. "That was so uncomfortable." He said looking at her. "I'm sorry... I was planning on making it more romantic... But..." He gulped. "Yeah... Whatever." He sighed then finally looked at her. "Look at you!" He said gasping. He smiled widely and leaned in kissing her cheek. "I can't even kiss you... Your lipstick will smudge." He sighed. "Look at you!" He said stepped back to have a better look. "You look stunning." He smiled. "This dress was made for you."
Areum smiled and shook her head. She kissed him on the lips knowing it wouldn't smudge. "You look great as well" she said wrapping her arms around him. "Did you notice I grew a few inches?" she asked with a soft giggle. "Hopefully my father didn't scare you too much...he's usually like that to the men I date that they didn't set up for me" she said with a sigh. "But my mother sure likes you, maybe because you're handsome" she said holding onto his arm and going towards his car.
He smiled and helped her inside. He closed the door for her and went to the other side and sat next to her. "Don't fool yourself with those heels." Mingi smirked teasingly. He held her hand and brought it up to his lips. After kissing it he let their hands rest on his thigh.
Areum looked at him and bit her bottom lip. 'He sure does look good in formal clothing' she thought and scanned him with her eyes, up and down. "You look really good, if I haven't made that clear already" she said staring into his eyes.
"to the school." He said to the chauffeur and looked at her. "Well you haven't. Your mom has." He laughed. "I bet everyone is going to leave prom because of you. They don't want to look bad next to you." He chuckled.
Areum cringed at what he said and smacked his thigh. "That was the worst thing I've heard today" she laughed and looked upfront at the driver glancing at the two of them. The driver had a grin on his face and it made her a bit confused. A few minutes later, they arrived at the school. There were many cars there and it looks packed. "I hate how many people are here" she sighed and bit her lip.
He kissed her cheek and went out of the car then headed to her side. He opened the door and reached his hand our for her to grab it. "Just stay away from the crowd then." He smiled.
Areum nodded and held onto his hand while getting out of the car. She held onto his arm once she was out. The students heads turned to their direction and all of their jaws dropped seeing the two together.
The day before they were trying to avoid each other but the next day they came dressed for prom together. Of course everyone would be shocked. He looked at her and kissed her cheek. "Give me a second." He smiled then went to his chauffeur. The chauffeur rolled the window down and looked at him. "Wait in the parking lot. It Might take a few hours so take a break or whatever." He whispered. The chauffeur nodded and rolled the window back up when he saw Mingi walking away.
Mingi gave Areum his arm and headed inside.
Areum smiled and took his arm, walking inside. She was a bit uncomfortable with all of the eyes on them. Minhyun was also there but there was someone by his side. The girl next to him turned and Areum's eyes widened. 'K-Kang Hana?' she thought and chuckled. "Wow that is one pair I wasn't expecting" she mumbled and looked up at Mingi. She gave him a peck on the cheek.
"can't get the rich kid? Get the second richest." Mingi mumbled to Areum playfully and scrunched up his nose then began walking further inside.
Areum laughed at his comment and shook her head. "I overheard someone say our relationship is like a movie, I agree with them," she said looking around at everyone and all of the teachers there, including his aunt.
He laughed and nodded. "Can't disagree." He said looking around then noticing his aunt. "Hey I'll be right back." He said kissing her cheek then headed to his aunt. "Mrs. Song." He smiled. "You seem shocked."
"I am very shocked. What is going on?"
"Yeah... Remember that two hour long detention?"
"What?"
"You made me sit in the classroom for two hours just for teasing my girlfriend playfully." He mumbled.
"What?"
"How many times are you going to say 'what' today?" He giggled. "is everything prepared?" He asked.
"What? Oh! Oh yeah." His aunt said. "this was the girl?" She asked in disbelief and hit his arm. He winked at her and headed back to Areum placing an arm around her shoulders.
Areum blushed when he called her his girlfriend. "Yes, Mrs. Song I am that girl. The girl who has put him through lots of trouble" she said with a smile. Areum took his hand and brought the two of them to an empty table where they can talk without being interrupted. She sat him down and she sat down next to him. "Let's go eat out after this, I kind of want a drink" she said still holding onto his hand.
He held her hand back and smiled nervously. "Yeah. Of course. Sure." He said kissing her cheek.
The students suddenly began gathering in front of a stage. Mingi saw that everything was set and looked at Areum. "Wait here." He said going to backstage. He went up on stage holding a mic.
Areum looked at him going up the stage and holding the mic. 'Please do not do anything cringe worthy Song Mingi, I beg of you' she thought to herself and closed her eyes. Hana walked over and stood next to Areum, "Thanks for Minhyun, he's all mine now" she patted her back and walked off to Minhyun. Areum chuckled and nodded, "You're welcome" she mumbled and looked back up at the stage.
"you're probably wondering why I'm up here..." Mingi said in the mic. "Well.... I did something very stupid. Yeah... I was so blinded by my own thoughts that I didn't know how to treat people nicely." He paused and heard everyone whispering. "Now if you would like to listen to me, I am here to tell everyone that I won't be attending this school anymore... Because I'm transferring. Yeah. It's a shock." He chuckled. "Also... There is something that we haven't made official." He said looking at Areum. "Kim Areum." He said removing the mic away from his lips. He smiled at her and put the Mic back up to his lips. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked
Areum bit her lip the whole time he was speaking. She frowned when he said he would be transferring schools but had to respect his decision. When she heard her name come out from his mouth her eyes widened and her throat was dry. 'Don't do it, don't do it, don't do- god dammit' she thought and froze when he asked her to be his girlfriend. As much as she wanted to laugh, she still found it cute and nodded as a yes. All of the students either cringed or thought it was romantic.
He smiled happily and bit his lip in excitement. "Thanks to everyone for listening." He said then headed down to the stairs of the stage but came back after the first step. "Now that's it's already very cringy... Just wanted to say... I love you Kim Areum!" He said smiling widely then went down from the stage.
Areum gulped when he went back up to talk again. She covered her face when he confessed to loving her in front of everyone and she cringed. All of the boys were angry and looked at Mingi like they wanted to beat him up. Areum looked at Mingi and giggled while shaking her head. "That was...the best and worst thing ever, I love you Mingi" she said but in a lower tone so not everyone could hear her.
"okay just..." He sighed deeply and grabbed his head. "Just remove that from your memory. I'm so embarrassed." He mumbled going out to the backyard. He inhaled deeply then exhaled and repeated a few times to relax.
Areum bit her lip and smiled. She stroked his back and kissed him on the lips. "Don't worry about it, you're so cute" she whispered into his ear. "Should we leave this place? I'm really in the mood for drinks" she sighed and played with his hair.
"what about prom? It has just started..." He mumbled looking at her. "I mean we can go if you want to leave. Because... We don't have anything to do here anyways. Doesn't seem like a lot of people like us." He giggled.
Areum nodded and stood up. She took his hand and all of her stuff and went outside. "How about we buy some beers and just chill somewhere? Bars are kind of full of gross old men" she said while looking up at him.
He nodded and headed to the parking lot. He saw his chauffeur waiting in it and sighed in relief. 'he didn't leave...'
Mingi sat inside the car. "Where are you planning to drink looking this good?" He laughed as he took her hand again.
