Third Place

Tea And Trees by YvonneKindle

Grammar: 9

Cover: 8

Creativity: 9

Total: 26/30

Praise:

This should not be a short story. More like an idea for an actual full-length novel! I'm not exactly where the author can go with the concept and the futuristic world that they've created, but I'm definitely excited to read the full book if it ever happens! Now that I think about it, the idea of graveforests is a very reasonable and logical possibility in the future. And I'm thinking "why hasn't this been done yet?" Plus, I enjoyed reading this from the POV that the author has set up. I haven't seen the fourth wall broken in a while and this story really does bring new perspectives. ~Millie

I grew fond of Tea and Trees. All the good deeds mentioned, no matter how small or trivial, brightened my day. I'm actually looking forward to life in the world of Tea and Trees. Being a listener really seems like an interesting occupation to have. There are some points that need some clarification and revision to seem more real—like how everyone seems to believe in the listeners' words and no one questions them (although I suppose that's because the narrator chose not to address those points). Might I add, the viewpoint of the story is very intriguing! For readers out there, check this book out—sit and have a noteworthy chat with tea and trees. ~Rachel

Second Place

Wonderwall by originalverbivore

Grammar: 9

Cover: 10

Creativity: 8

Total: 27/30

Praise:

How in the world did you come up with this format? I know it's about love (which I always thought was cliche but this book proved me utterly wrong). There are so many things you can do with classical romance but this book CHANGES EVERYTHING. When I saw the synopsis, I was thinking "aaand another romance, there's no way this is going through". Wrong again! The author is so skilled at developing a story that I'm beginning to call it natural-born talent. When cliche. Is taken. On another level. That's what this is. ~Millie

I had a wonderful time reading Wonderwall. I judge very harshly when it comes to reading romance cliches but Wonderwall was on the enjoyable spectrum. And the cover is really aesthetic, good job! I like the way you split the book and the build-up to each of the girls Eli encounters adds meaning to every chapter. I can tell that this book will inspire many romance novelists. ~Rachel

 First Place

Warmth by juneaugxstus

Grammar: 9

Cover: 9

Creativity: 10

Total: 28/30

Praise:

This book. This story. Should be made. Into a short film. On Netflix. Somehow, the author managed to turn something as mundane as a road trip into something so. Much. More. It's brilliantly written, every single chapter has meaning, I'm honestly so happy I got to judge this book, and I highly recommend EVERYONE to read it. With emotional music in the background (literally just type [emotional music one hour] on YouTube and listen to it as you read). This story is so sad and so heart-warming and so hopeful, I literally have no more words. ~Millie

I love everything about Warmth. From beginning to end, dialogue to imagery. It's the definition of undiscovered because this book deserves so many more reads, stars, and comments. There's definitely room for improvement—some grammar, scenes that are just a tweeny bit confusing. But the entire book is worth it. You must read it through and through and when you're done, read it again. ~Rachel
