my life ain't a cherry on top,
i've been accustomed to the usual pop
in my heart whenever a shout rolled out.
i've been nothing but a clout
and a cheater of time,
but i guess it's no crime
in my brain 'cause i can't feel
what's on the outside that's real
and not in my head
where all my memories are dead.
stress and headache pills,
hey, would you look at that i didn't pay bills
tonight.
but i guess it's alright
if i can do another try.
i know i have many things to do but i sigh
and lie still and my bed;
the complaints and the anger said
i'm not enough but i don't care now.
i'm gonna rest and bow
down to the queen of sleep
and those pleasant dreams i will keep
forever because i know time flies fast.
but who cares? sleep'll make my past
disappear 'cause right now, i said,
i'm rather busy sleeping in bed.
