Stepping through the condensed darkness Kira felt a strange sensation brush past her awareness in a rather crude manner that she found quite difficult to ignore. It seemingly only got harder once this foreign presence began trying to probe into her conciseness. Keeping her mind completely focused on the scent of those sweet and alluring treat was she able to barely manage in not actively trying to defend herself, though even without doing anything the strange force couldn't seem to break past the natural defenses of her mind.

Continuing forward step by step in a slow but sure manner while seemingly going unaffected by its power left the entity bristling. The entity began to question why at times it could sway this young and inexperienced wolf while at others completely fail in swaying her even an inch. She wasn't like those who lived under its greatness while only over time being able to develop a very slight resistance towards its power. Convinced that its skills had simply dulled over time due to a lack of use it tried even harder.

Keeping a natural pace acting for the next few minutes became more tedious as the entity had begun wielding its power like a hammer. The dull thumps of each attack came at an inconsistent rhythm that began grating on Kira's last nerve rather than doing anything to break through her mental barrier. Unable to completely ignore the entity any longer she lifted a hand up to touch her forehead.

Noticing that its attacks were finally getting through the entity pulled the white wolf into a place covered in darkness. The sound of water dripping sounded like an eerie tune being played while the air became still and stagnate. Kira took an instinctive breath in and was hit with a smell that couldn't quite be described in simple words. It made the skin crawl, lung itch while turning the stomach as both her mind and body suffered a numbing sensation, breathing out made thing far worse when she couldn't breathe in again properly.

Watching from the shadows were those pitch black eyes of the entity which had turned gleeful at getting through the strange young wolf's power. Meaning it could take that power as its own and expand its territory.

"Finally brought me to your core huh? Planning on devouring me in one foul swoop, too bad..." Hearing these words crystal clear and fulling understanding what had been said bring the entity back down to the here and now with the white wolf nowhere to be seen. The entity bristled having never suffered such a setback in all these years it ruled over its domain enforcing its own will onto others while instilling them with fear of its greatness.

A sudden heat surged through the entity causing it great discomfort for a mere moment as a singular memory nearly forgotten with time sparked within it. The moment of its birth felt the same, and then came excruciating pain which nearly snuffed it out. 'No!' This high pitched wailing came from the entity as the white wolf came back into view.

Kira pressed a hand against the dead tree which appeared to be where the entity made its nest when it wasn't out patrolling its domain. A feeling of repulsion came from deep within her as the two shards seemed to oppose one another. It didn't take much for her to understand the reason why and quickly took action to purify the source.

Without a proper form and its psychic abilities outmatched it could do very little within its nest. It could only watch as the pitch black oily substance that coated the dead tree faded dry up and fade away.

Kira pulled away her hand only after claiming the next shard of the Tear of Sorrow. The lightness of her body faded as it became heavy allowing her to feel the sweat that now coated her body.

With the return of her sight Kira took in her surrounds finding them to be quite simple. A large tree much like the one she first encountered laid uprooted near a pool of what she assumed had been the cause of the corruption. She could sense no living thing within a mile or of the tree, the ground held a grey tint while the twisted black trees seemed unaffected by it.

"Big sister Kira where have you been grandmother wants to see you right away." She heard Hana call out with worry the moment she arrived at the mountain's base.

"I've been out searching for something but didn't find it or anything of interest." Hana showed a sweet face to her but didn't seem to believe her.

"Really because I had big brother Jun go out looking for you and couldn't seem to locate you." Kira wanted to smile but held back understanding that she must be trying to gentle find out what she had been up to.

"Here this was all I got on my way back." She said tossing a stone that had been collected earlier from a nearby lake.

Showing off her great reflexes Hana caught the palm sized stone with ease before inspecting it. "What's so great about it?" She finally asked after finding nothing special about it other than the softness.

Kira gave a lazy shrug. "Who knows, I simply picked it up because of its shape." Hana turned the stone around in her hand before noticing a familiar shape but could say what.

"So what does it look like to you big sister?" She asked while keeping the fact that she couldn't tell to herself.

"The Stonemason Peaks though the shape isn't quite right but still close enough for something I picked up." She said while noticing Jun leading little Kyou along.

Hana nodded finally seeing it herself. "Big sister Kira your imagination is very good." She praised while taking more of a liking to the stone.

"Big brother I found her." She called happily as she lifted her head.

"Good you had me worried she might've been whisked away by someone with the way you spoke earlier. Can you take little Kyou with you big sister Kira I need to be elsewhere soon in the opposite direction." He said while appearing torn.

Giving a nod she took up the small hand of the toddler. "Thank you very much if you need me for anything just ask, see you later Hana." He called before running off in a hurry.

From a pouch at her side Kira pulled out a decent sized piece of jerky. "Hungry?" She asked the small boy who had a thick tuff of red hair.

Taking the offered treat he followed along quietly as Hana talked about the latest gossip.
