Jax's POV
I stood up from my chair and stared daggers at Nick.
I reached over my desk and grabbed the collar of his shirt and lifted him up until we were just a nose apart.
"If I say no to taking a break with my soon-to-be fiancé what makes you think I would even consider cheating her?" I said very angry.
"O-ok ok ok. Calm down. I-It was j-just a thought." He smiled nervously.
I dropped him back onto the chair.
"Just go." I turned my chair around until I was facing the windows.
I heard my door open and close.
I stood up and went to the bar in the corner of my office and poured myself a small glass of whiskey.
I walked back to the window with my glass in my hand and leaned against the glass.
I looked down onto the street and recognized the car Jessica usually drives in.
It was parked at the top of the parking garage across the street.
I was able to recognize Jessica walk out of her car. She was wearing a one of a kind purple dress I got her for her birthday last year.
She was standing next to her car as if she was waiting for someone.
I saw a man I didn't recognize approach her.
He gave her a hug and began showering her in kisses.
First on the cheek then the forehead then the lips.
Multiple times on the lips.
And she did not pull away once.
I felt a boiling anger rise inside me.
I should have known.
All her recent surgeries for her body and staying out all night. It was so obvious. How could I not see it before?
I clenched the glass harder in my hand.
I turned around and threw it as hard as I could out of anger at the door.
At the same time the door opened and Jade walked in.
"Mr. Ba-" She let out a small scream when she saw the glass rushing towards her.
The glass missed her and hit the door.
The shattered glass bounced off the door and scratched her cheek.
The scratch wasn't too deep but it drew blood.
She looked over at me in shock. "What the hell!?"
"Get out Jade." I said as calmly as I could.
"No! Why the hell did you throw that at me!?"
I opened my draw and pulled out my hand gun and pointed it at her. "I said get out!"
She reached behind her and pulled out her gun and aimed it back at me.
"Careful Jade. A gun in your hand is a dangerous thing." I glared.
"Its worse in an emotional man's hand." She walked slowly and carefully towards my desk. "Put it down and tell me what happened."
I should have listened but I was still so angry after what I just saw.
I fired a warning shot at the door. The silencer was on and no one else was on this floor. No one should be coming.
Jade didn't even flinched when I fired.
"Nice try, but I'm not leaving until you put that gun down and tell me what happened." She spoke.
I closed my eyes and thought about it for a minute and slammed the gun onto my desk.
Jade put her gun away.
I sat back down in my chair and put my face in my hands.
I sighed deeply and resisted the urge to shed a tear.
I heard Jade's footsteps walked closer towards me until I felt her hand on my shoulder.
I looked up until I met her eye.
"What happened?" She asked.
I sighed. "It's nothing." I turned my chair until I was back on my desk.
"Jax pleas-"
"Just-" I pause. "I need to be alone."
"You cant close yourself off."
"Just like you do." I stared at her and stood up and walked closer to her. "You do the exact same thing"
She stared walking back but I kept walking closer.
"Face it Jade, you're no better than me. Not a word about your sister, you don't like to talk about your father, and I've never even heard you mention your mother."
Her back hit the wall but I inched my face closer to her as she stared daggers at me.
She inched closer to me. I backed up but she kept walking closer.
"You don't know a thing about me." She said calmly. "Don't pretend like you know me so don't pretend that you do. And you think you can intimidate and scare me but you don't scare me."
My back hit the wall.
"Do not pretend like you know me." She glared at me before backing away.
I went over to my desk and opened the second drawer and got alcohol and cotton balls.
I poured the alcohol onto the cotton ball and went over to Jade.
I grabbed her face and moved it so that I was able to clean the cut on her cheek.
She winced in pain slightly but tried to hide it.
All the dry blood was cleaned up and the cut was disinfected.
I threw away the cotton ball and sat back down in my desk.
"Please." I said while keeping my gaze at the papers on my desk. "Just leave and send Nick back in."
I heard her sigh. "Yes, sir."
I heard the door open and close. As soon as she left I put my gun back my drawer.
I left the drawer open and pulled out a small black box.
"I guess I wont be needing this anymore." I opened the box and stared at the ring inside.
My sadness soon faded into anger once again.
I don't just want to leave her. No she doesn't deserve something so quick and painless.
I want to get her back. I want her to feel how I felt.
If she even feels anything for me anymore.
She doesn't deserve anything from me.
The door open and I lifted my head up. Nick walked in.
"You wanted to see me? Also what happened to Jade's cheek? Did you see her?" He asked.
"I want to do it." I stood up from my desk.
"Do what? What are you talking about? And why does it smell like whisky in here?"
"Nick I have a bar. It always smells like whiskey."
"Not this time. It smells like a new bottle."
"That's not the point right now."
"Then what is?"
"Stop asking so many questions. I want to do the affair."
He stared at me. "Are you sure?"
"Yes. I want an affair."
