“Two weeks! Sorry this isn’t a band update guys.” Luke’s smiling face said to the camera on what was presumably his phone. The video cut to a shot of Calum’s face. He was pouting, and Luke could be heard very faintly in the background yelling.

“Luke spends too much time thinking about his girlfriend.” He deadpanned. Then his frown morphed into a smile. “Two weeks until he sees her, though. Maybe then he’ll shut up about—“ The video cut off before he could finish the sentence. I giggled as I looked through the comments below the Instagram video.

Girls were freaking out about two things. One was the fact that Luke and I were dating. I had never really thought about it before, but we hadn’t necessarily posted about our relationship online. Nor had the boys been asked about girlfriends in interviews. So it was news to fans. The other thing they were freaking out about was what Calum was about to say. Some said he was probably just going to say ‘her’ while others had theories that he was going to mention something dirty. Knowing Calum, it was probably the latter.

“Wait, listen to this one: O-M-G what if Cal was gonna say Luke talks about how much he hates his G-F!!!! Obviously I’m the one for him.” Kendra giggled as she read a comment for me. I let out a laugh as well.

“I’ve got some competition, huh?” I quipped. I saw her roll her eyes in the screen.

“If this girl is competition for you, then he needs to get his priorities straight.” She assured me. I smiled at her.

“I knew there was a reason I picked you to be my best friend.” I said, scrolling through more comments. “This bitch needs to back off my Lukey. He belongs with me.” I read, raising an eyebrow. “Rude.” Kendra laughed.

“Wow, you take the hate well.” She commented. I felt my cheeks heat up in a blush, and I broke eye contact with the screen.

“Yeah, well, I’ve had a bit of practice.” I mumbled quietly. Kendra’s eyes widened when she realized her error.

“Oh, God. I totally forgot. Dae-bird, I’m so sorry. It’s just you two seem to have put it behind you, and it’s really hard to see him as that asshole now.” I smiled at her.

“It’s fine, really. It’s hard for me to see him like that, too. But he can’t get over it. He beats himself up over the entire thing every day. Not only how he treated me, but what happened two years ago as well.” I assured her. She nodded sympathetically. Before she could say anything else, a loud thump sounded throughout the house. I winced slightly. “I’ve gotta go make sure my door is locked. Love ya darling!” I said. Kendra nodded and said goodbye as well, and I closed my laptop.

After checking that my bedroom door was locked, I turned on the ceiling fan (it was usually loud enough to drown out the sounds of the television upstairs) and crawled into bed.

--------

Today was the day. It had been two weeks since Luke pretty much announced to the world that we were dating (even though it hadn’t exactly been a secret in the first place), and now he and the rest of the boys were coming home. The nice thing about not having too many pictures up online of me and Luke was that I was able to stand among the crowd of about thirty girls in the airport and not be bothered by any of them. Only one girl recognized me, but either she was too shy to come and say hi or she wasn’t one hundred percent sure, so she stayed away.

I had only needed to emergency call Luke once when I got home and realized my dad was there and I’d locked my bedroom window. That was almost eleven days ago. He’d given the phone to Calum, who had talked me through the process of breaking into my own room. I should have known he would know how to pick locks.

It was actually amusing to be standing in the center of the crowd of girls like this. They said the strangest things. One girl wanted to touch Michael’s hair. That was it. That’s all she wanted out of today. To touch his hair. Another wanted to wear Calum’s beanie. I wasn’t sure how that would pan out—Cal wasn’t a fan of sharing the damn thing—but it would sure be interesting to see.

“You look really nervous.” I turned towards the source of the voice and found a very pretty girl standing there, a genuine smile on her face. She had pulled her dirty blonde hair into a loose ponytail and was wearing a plain blue short sleeved shirt. I smiled back at her, nodding.

“Yeah.” I breathed. She chuckled.

“I am too. My name is Isabel. And this,” She gestured to the girl standing next to her, “Is my best friend, Kat.” I smiled at the two of them.

“I just want a picture with Luke so bad! He’s my favorite in the group, and he seems so nice!” Isabel’s friend burst out, causing the two of us to laugh. I opened my mouth to say something to her, but her expression had changed into one of shock. I whipped around to face the front once more.

I couldn’t help the massive grin that took over my face as Michael walked through the doors in the middle of the wall. He was looking down at his phone, but as soon as he reached a certain point, he became surrounded by girls. I watched in awe as he leaned from side to side, quickly snapping pictures with as many as he could. Calum was next, then Ashton. None of the three even saw me, but I didn’t care at the moment. I would talk to them later. The only thing on my mind was the fact that Luke would be coming through the doors next.

“Oh, God. There he is!” Kat squealed from right next to me moments before my gaze landed on Luke. He was wearing a black shirt underneath a blue plaid button-up. And, of course, his legs were clad in black skinny jeans. I let out a short puff of air. I knew his style had changed a bit while he was in London, but I didn’t realize how good the new look made him appear. His eyes were scanning the crowd, looking for something. I knew that something was me, and I couldn’t take it any longer. With one last glance at the excited girls right next to me, I surged forward towards him.

As soon as I was away from the crowd, Luke’s eyes landed on me. They lit up as a grin overtook his face. The bags he’d been carrying were dropped to the floor to make room for the hug I was about to give him, and he held out his arms. My body collided with his with a soft thud, and I felt his arms wrap tightly around my waist. I nuzzled my face into his neck and sighed. After a moment, I pulled away and looked up at him.

My emotions suddenly began to overwhelm me, and I could feel tears threatening to spill. I took in a shuddering breath, desperately trying not to cry in such a public place. Luke chuckled at my struggle and reached up to trail a finger down my cheek, keeping his other hand tightly around my waist, as if afraid letting go would make me disappear.

“I’m right here, babe. Don’t cry.” He murmured. I nodded, but that didn’t stop the tears from dripping down my cheeks. I let out a quiet chuckle.

“I’m such a baby.” I said, wiping a tear from my cheek. Luke smiled and leaned down to rest his forehead against mine.

“That may be true, but you’re my baby.” He whispered. I giggled.

“I missed you so, so much.” I murmured. Luke nodded.

“I missed you, too.” He replied. “Guess what?”

“What?” I asked.

“Five seconds.” I pulled back, a frown of confusion on my face.

“What do you mean—“ I didn’t get to finish my sentence before Luke leaned forward and pressed his lips against mine. I kissed him back almost immediately, ignoring the murmurs and gasps from the crowd of girls behind me. When we pulled away, I finished my sentence. “What did you mean by five seconds?” I asked. Luke gave me a cheeky grin.

“Well, you may have been counting the days until I got back to Sydney, but my agenda was different. See, I was counting the days until I got to kiss you again.” I laughed at that—a full laugh—causing Luke’s grin to widen.

“You’re such a dork.” I giggled. Luke didn’t reply right away, so I spoke for him. “Five seconds.”

And then he kissed me again.

Not exactly a week, but definitely a generally timely update! Woot! I've seen many of you posted answers to my question about a possible sequel with positive remarks, so YES. There will be one! Yay! BUT, This particular story has a few more chapters before we have to worry about that! =))

Also, you should all check out my other fic, titled As The Memories Fade. It's a Calum fic, and it's a lot more serious, but I've been told it's good! So read it and let me know if you think so as well!

Love you all and see you next time!
