11pm...
We'd driven 8 hours straight and were in San Angelo.
You beauty!
Our home state of Texas. The down side was, we still had about 7 and a half hours left until we'd be home. Kane wanted to drive through the night so we'd get there the early hours of tomorrow morning and surprise everyone. So that's what we're doing.
"Are you sure you want to keep driving Baby?" I asked,
"Yes. I just want to get us all home"
"I'll swap places with you Bro" Wyatt suggested,
"Thanks, but I'm okay honest"
So Kane carried on driving, we were approaching some traffic lights, they were on green. Kane pulled out and we were about to turn, when this car came hurtling through on a red...
"KANE" I screamed, then it all went black.

My eyes forced themselves open, I was trapped under something, and there was blood and metal and fear.
"Kane" I croaked,
"Baby girl" I heard a faint reply, well I think I did.
"Rics"
"Sis"
This wasn't meant to happen.
Sirens were now wailing in the background. I felt so far away from everything right now, faintly I could feel pain, but it kept going away then coming back and then the most miraculous thing happened.
I heard my Dad's voice...

My eyelashes fluttering, I opened my eyes. Though blurry, I could see Joel and Wyatt stood talking to someone. Kane...maybe?
What the hell happened?
The car...it did crash didn't it...?
But then why am I...
"They're going to wake up though right" Wyatt said
"I'm afraid I can't honestly say yes or no"
"You have to, you have to do something" Joel pleaded,
"I'll do all I can to make them comfortable, but we're going to be playing the waiting game until they wake up"
"But you said you don't know if they'll wake up" Wyatt said,
"I don't. I'm sorry, but the best thing you can do is sit and talk with them, they are both stable, but we won't be able to determine anything further until they wake up"
They...wake up...but I am awake...who is they?
Why can't they see that I'm awake?
I turn my head slightly, Kane's led on the bed next to me all wired up to a machine.
"Kane" I said, I could feel tears in my eyes.
"I'm here," I span round, and he was sat on the edge of my bed.
"How...how are you doing that? Your lying in the bed," he took my hand,
"So are you"
I stood up and looked at myself led in the bed, like Kane, wired up to a machine, my heart beat danced about.
"Please little sis, please wake up your too young, you have to wake up, we have the rest of our life. Both of you do, Kane you have to wake up, this isn't meant to happen" Joel said, tears rolling down his eyes.
"Hey big Bro, you better wake up. I miss your sarcastic remarks and our fights we have just to annoy Rics, please keep fighting, you cant leave...not now" Wyatt cried.
"Are we dead Kane?" He squeezed my hand,
"I don't think so..."
"They're crying...I hate seeing them cry. Joel, Wyatt, I'm here...we're here" I shouted,
Joel took my hand and held it; Wyatt did the same with Kane.
"We haven't called our parents yet, they don't know, so please just wake up and they won't ever have to find out. Kane...if you can hear me, you better do everything you can to wake up, that goes for you too Lyric" Wyatt said, wiping his tears,
"I don't want to tell Dad and Trent Sis, .not just because I know they'll kill me, but because it'll break their hearts and I don't want that. I'm going to send a postcard to Dad from us Rics and tell him how we're having an amazing time and that we love him loads and will forever"
I was crying now...crying a lot. Kane was holding me like he was never going to let me go,
"How do we wake up Kane, how?"
"I don't know Baby girl, but I know we will wake up. I promise we will..."
After I'd calmed down, I went and sat next to Joel...
"I'm okay bro...I'm okay" I whispered into his ear, I tried to touch his hand, but it wasn't happening,
"I love you so much Lyric, your my Baby sister and I won't let you die"
"Wyatt....don't go getting all emotional over me please, if you want me to stay strong, you've got to stay strong yourself. I love you loads and I'm trying, we're trying..."
"Joel this is complete Bull...how come we walked out of that crash with a few scratches and our brother and sister end up in coma's its complete bull and it's not fair..." Wyatt screamed crying, Joel held him, he held Wyatt and it was the cutest thing ever.
"Life isn't fair Wyatt. I don't know why we were untouched, but I do know if Kane and Lyric can hear and see us, they'll be worrying about us because we're so upset about them. We don't want that, we want them to see that we're coping and staying strong for them..."
"But...but if we're like that, they'll think we don't care"
"Of course they won't, they'll be proud of us, they'll be proud"
"Listen to my brother Wyatt...we are proud" I said,
"We've all got to stay strong" Kane said "We're going to make it"
Kane and I went and sat in the corner of the room, under the window, I sat in between Kane's legs and he wrapped his arms around me, I rested my head back and he nuzzled into me, I shut my eyes. Maybe if I went to sleep I'd wake up...

Two days later...
"We're going to have to tell our parents. I've spoken to Sam, of course I told her and she's going over to see our parents. Nic's going to be okay, but now she's worried about Rics and Kane. I'm going to ring Trent" Joel said, Wyatt looked at us led in the bed,
"We'll be right back"
"Two days and no change. I don't understand how we're meant to wake up, if we're even meant to, what if we're meant to die now" I said,
"Don't think like that Baby girl..."
"But how can I not Kane..." he kissed me,
"Easy, think of our future, our family, our children, this isn't the end"
"Trent...
Joel...I thought you'd be back by now...
Yeah...same...
What's the matter? I can tell from your voice that your upset about something
There was a crash Trent...our car...we crashed and...and...Lyric and Kane are in a coma

Trent please say something...

Trent" Joel started to cry,
"Are you and Wyatt okay?
Yes...it's shit because we're fine and their...their...Trent...please get here as fast as you can...
Don't cry Joel, stay strong for our sister..." He too started to cry
"Why are you crying for?
I'll...I'll tell you when I get to you...I'll be there as soon as I can...where are you?
San Angelo and you're coming with Dad?
See you soon...love you" He hung up. Joel knew something was up...why'd he avoid to answer about Dad?

"Mum...
Wyatt honey are you okay? Why aren't you home yet?"
Wyatt began to cry.
"Wyatt...what's happened?
Mum...I'm scared...there was this crash...and...and Kane and Lyric are in a coma...
Oh my God...we're coming...we're coming...
Mum...what if they never wake up? What if...
Wyatt...this is your brother we are talking about...he's a fighter and Lyric is too
We're in San Angelo Mum, please hurry...
Okay...okay...chin up...we'll be on our way...
Will you tell Charlie...
Oh my, Charlie...
Mum, what is it?
We'll...we'll see you soon...I love you". She hung up. Charlie...what's happened with him? He thought.
They re-entered the room,
"They're on their way, so you best wake up"
