Namjoon enters their office with slumped shoulders and Yoongi groans at his sight
"Now what happened today? I swear to god nam, you and your puppy love is getting on my nerves these days" Yoongi comments when sits down on the sofa
"where is Hobi?" Namjoon asks ignoring yoongi's comment
"if you could just focus a little bit more on work, you might remember that he had a breakfast meeting"
Namjoon sighs "hyung, I think I should take a few days break"
"nam, whats the matter"Yoongi asks concerned for his dongseang
"hyung, Jackson is here" Namjoon pouts
"your cousin, Jackson wang?" Namjoon nods
"and why is that a problem"Yoongi asks concerned
"it wasn't at first but now kookie spends more time with him than he does with me, I don't even get to see him and its just been three days" Namjoon whines
Yoongi just sighs and decides to give his dongsaeng a reality check slap
"you do realize that he can hangout with anyone he wants,right? Its not like he is bound to ask you or even be with you" Yoongi says seriously
"hyung!!!" Namjoon looks at his hyung in disbelief
"what nam? Am I not right? Why should he have any obligation to you, not like you are his brother or his BOYFRIEND, am I right?" Yoongi asks, praying that it might knock some sense into the younger
"but....but" Namjoon tries to defend himself but he ends up with no excuses this time and Yoongi just shrugs
"I am really tired of you both, one cant confess his feelings to someone he has been living with for years and the other one is still working while his engagement is in two days" Yoongi gives a defeated sigh
Hobi enters the scene at the right time
"what with all these defeated looks on your faces?" he asks while sitting on his chair and spreading out the files on his table
"the same old puppy love drama and now we have a villain in it" Yoongi sighs and grabs the file on which he was working before Namjoon entered
"Jackson is here" Namjoon says with a defeated sigh
"nam, sort things out with kookie pls, we cant afford to let it affect our work, you know that right?" Hoseok says, his workaholic-self showing itself
"hmmmm" comes namjoon's reply
Here Taehyung was at jimin's apartment, which was nothing more than a room, with a bed in one corner, a worn out couch and a small kitchen top, but it was clean for a worn out place like that
Taehyung was seated on the couch with his legs up to rest his head on his knees while jimin brings two steaming cups of hot chocolate for both of them
As soon as jimin sits next to him, tae rests his head on the elder's shoulder
"how did the ring shopping went?"jimin asks caressing the younger's hair
"it was good hyung, but I am afraid of mother" Taehyung says
"why tae, what happened?" jimin asks, coz he knew how his mother was and if the younger was worried about something then it cant be nothing
"its about the rings hyung, there were a lot of those gaudy ones but I ended up selecting the ones which were very simple and hoseokie hyung brought the ones that I liked and he offered to take those with him and I am glad that he did so that I will not have to show it to mother but now I am afraid that mother would be angry about my selection" Taehyung explains his worries
But jimin just smiles when he realizes what the elder had done for the younger and that in the worry of displeasing his mother, his innocent friend had ignored the efforts of the elder and may be this Jung Hoseok was a smart guy and might have caught the drift of the relationship between the younger and his mother. May be he could trust this Jung Hoseok with his innocent friend
"tae tae, its you and your hoseokie hyung who are going to wear those rings, right?" Taehyung just nods with his head still buried in the elder's neck
"then you don't have to worry about anything else if you liked it and your hoseokie hyung liked it then there is nothing to worry about and your mother will only see the ring on the day of the engagement, right? And your hosekie hyung will be there, so don't worry, ok?" jimin caresses his hair
"hmmm" he lifts his head to look at the younger "hyung, here" he forwards two sets of envelops towards the elder, one was a white one with a golden bow printed on it while the other was a royal blue one with golden letters
Jimin takes both the cards from the younger's hand who was adoring a slight pink tint on his cheeks, he opens the white one which was an invitation for the engagement which was two days from today and the blue one was a wedding invitation, both of the cards were very elegant and were addressed to Jimin
Jimin looks up and smiles at the younger's shyness
"these are beautiful tae, and I'll be there" Taehyung smiles at him
"hoseokie hyung wanted the engagement to be a very private one so only family and close friends are invited" Taehyung explains
"what about grandpa an grandma, are they coming" jimin asks
"no, they said that they cant travel for the engagement as its busy at the farm but they will come down for the wedding" Taehyung replies while sipping his hot chocolate
"hmmmm" jimin mirrors his action
"hyung! How are things at home?" suddenly tae asks, knowing very well that his brother and mother depended on him, yes his mother had a breakfast corner back in busan but once his father left them, the business was very dull and that's why jimin was working day and night to help them out
"its going just fine tae" jimin replies, keeping the fact that he might get kicked out of his own apartment in a few weeks if he fails to pay, to himself
"hyung, why cant you work with jin hyung, it will help you a lot" Taehyung suggests
"tae, I am no business major and I don't want to ruin someone else's chance just because I know you and moreover, I don't want your mother to think that I am taking advantage of your friendship" Taehyung just sighs and takes a sip of his hot chocolate
"how is jihyun?"Taehyung inquires about jimin;s younger brother
"he is fine, but you know same old teenager's thing all rebellious and stuff...but mom is handling...anyways...its not about me, you tell me about your hoseokie hyung, how is he? He treats you well right?" jimin changes the topic and Taehyung again starts blushing at the mention of the elder's name
"he-he treats me well hyung, for now I mean, and he really cares for my opinion, and its really new for me coz no one other than you and jin hyung has actually done that for me"
"so?" jimin asks
"so?" Taehyung looks at him confused
"so you are giving him a chance, you are going to trust him, right?" jimin asks with a small smile tugging the corners of his lips
"i-I think so" Taehyung shrugs while brushing
"awieeee....my taehyungie is going fall in love" jimin coos
"aa hyung....no one is falling in love" Taehyung whines and shoves the elder who falls on the rug
"yah!!! Taehyung, I am your hyung" jimin complains for which Taehyung just shrugs and continues with his cup of hot chocolate
Here Hoseok reaches his apartment but was scared to find his noona sitting in his living room
"oh god! Noona you just scared me, what are you doing here?"
"I am here to make you try this tuxedo of yours and I knew that you will not come to the house so I came here" Jaehee explains
Hoseok just sighs
"cant this wait?" he asks while loosening his tie
"hobi, its YOUR engagement which is day after tomorrow, do you think you have time to keep on procrastinating these things....you know, its already tiring doing all these things alone and you trying to run away is just adding to my headache, for real" Jaehee gives a defeated sigh which makes hobi feel guilty.
"I am sorry noona, I will not worry you again, I will try it now" Hoseok says while taking his neatly packed tuxedo from his sister's hands
Jaehee smiles at him
"and by the way Hobi, Mrs. Kim said that she is ok with the idea of pre-wedding photo shoot, did you ask Taehyung?" Jaehee shouts so that hobi could hear it in his room
"ok, and no I didn't ask him yet, I'll ask him after the engagement" Hoseok shouts back from his room
"ok, I'll make dinner then" she moves to the room and Hoseok comes after trying on the tuxedo and Jaehee looks at him in aw and then wipes her fake tears away
"my baby brother is all grown up..i cant believe that you are getting engaged, I still remember the day when you would go laughing around the house making weired noises and mom would say that it will be difficult to find someone as silly for you" its when Jaehee looks up that she realizes what a blunder she had commited
Hoseok was standing there with his clenced fist and eyes ready to spill
"hobi!!! I am sorry" she walks to him but before she could reach him he leaves from there to go back to his room and in record time he was back with the neatly packed tuxedo
"since it fits perfectly, I think there is nothing more to it, I will come to the house tomorrow morning, you can go now noona" Hoseok says in his dead tone and Jaehee knows that he was controlling himself from exploding in front of her but she knew better, she know how much it affects him when someone mentions their parents. Hoseok took their passing away in a very bad way, because apparently he believes that everything that happened was because of him. And now she was cursing herself for doing the stupid mistake of mentioning their mother but she cant redo that and Hoseok was just staring at the floor
Jaehee just sighs and walks towards the door with mind full of worries and once she leaves and the door closes, Hoseok slides down the back of the sofa and bursts out crying, his knees were bent and his hands were circled around his legs and his eyes were flowing non stop and the sound of his sobs were filled in that otherwise silent pent house
he has no idea how long has it been but now he was a sobbing and whimpering mess
"mo-mom d-dad, why did you leave me here all alone..i am so lonely h-here" he says in between his sobs to no one in particular but suddenly the room fills with the sound of the ringing of his phone which was lying next to him
If it was someone who knows him, he would have ignored it but to his strange relief, it was Taehyung and Hoseok, without thinking of anything else picks up the call because he wanted this distraction
"hello" his voice came hoarse due to all his crying
"oh he-hello hyung, were you asleep?" Taehyung asks
"yes Taehyung" Hoseok lies
"oh I am so sorry hyung, please go back to sleep" comes taehyung's guilty voice
"no its ok Taehyung, you can talk" Hoseok stops him from hanging up
"are you sure hyung? I don't want to disturbe you and its nothing much" Taehyung asks doubtfully and Hoseok could imagine him biting onto his lower lip
That's when hseeok hears another voice in the background "taetae yor bed is ready"
"where are you Taehyung?" Hoseok asks out of curiosity
"ahh, I am at jiminie hyung's place, I came to invite him for the engagement and wedding and I am spending the night here" Taehyung explains
"oh that friend from the university, dance major, right?" Hoseok asks remembering their conversation about the male in question
"yes, you remember hyung?" there was a happy glint in taehyung's voice and his deep voice was calming hoseok's fast beating heart somehow
"yes Taehyung, so what is it that you wanted to talk about?" Hoseok asks while standing up from the floor to grab a glass of water
But before Taehyung could reply Hoseok's doorbell resounds through the pent house
"hold on a second Taehyung, there is someone at the door" Hoseok walks to the door with his phone still pressed to his ear, but as soon as he opens the door, it was like an avalanche of words from Namjoon and Yoongi
"hobi are you ok?" comes namjoon's concerned voice
Hoseok just gives them a what the hell look
"Jaehee noona told us, what happened and she was worried about you" Yoongi explains their sudden intervention
"Are you talking to someone, hobi?" its then that Hoseok realizes that Taehyung was on the line and he might have heard it all, he mentally facepalms
"hyung" comes taehyung's almost inaudible voice
"Taehyung, is the thing you wanted to talk about anything urgent?" Hoseok asks while glaring at his two best friends who just shrug and move into the house
"n-no hyung, its fine, its nothing urgent" Taehyung replies and Hoseok could see that the younger wanted to ask something else and so he waits, he wanted to know how the younger will interpret what he overheard
"hyung?" comes taehyung's voice
"yes Taehyung" Hoseok replies
"are you ok?" Taehyung asks with a voice aced with concer and doubt
"yes Taehyung, I am fine..now" Hoseok replies but both of them somehow knew that if was far from the truth but they both know that they have not reached the point where they can actually pry the other to talk and being able to do that was going to take some time
"ok hyung, I guess your friends are there, I'll leave you to attend to them, good night hyung" Taehyung replies nd Hoseok sighs in relief that the younger didn't ask anything further
"ok taehyung, enjoy your sleepover, good night" they hang up and now Hoseok was feeling really calm and totally normal
