You looked up to him growing up. Not because he was strong or cool. The reason you looked up to him was because he still had a loving grandfather by his side. He had the chance to have a family of his own and live happily.
That seemed to change once you both grew up. Laxus became hungry for power and looked down on everyone.
Including you.
As he slowly lost touch of what Fairy Tail was, you didn't want to see him fall because of the years you had fallen in love with him.

“Why do you even care (First Name)?! You're weak compared to me! I don't need to listen to your stupid ass!”
It hurt. He always snapped at you now that you were trying to help. All you wanted to do was to show him that you still cared and that he didn't have to shut everyone out.
Ever since his father was removed from the guild, his temper had gotten worse.
Wasn't it just yesterday that the two of you were kids playing around? Back when you would cry over split juice and he would be there to cheer you up? Why couldn't it just be like that?
“Just got away. No one needs you here in Fairy Tail. Hell, you don't even take jobs, so why do you even come back?!”
It was true. You had stopped taking jobs recently, but never told anyone except for Makarov.
About a month ago, you were told that you were dying. A rare disease that ran in your family and was the reason why both of your parents died when you were younger. It scared you to death.
Knowing that, you wanted to at least let Laxus know how you felt. Unfortunately, his newly formed personality was preventing you from doing so. Laxus had cared for his father as a child, but it angered you that he was taking it out on everyone in the guild for something they had no control over.
Taking it out on you.
“Laxus, you don't have to keep shutting us out. We're still your friends. I hate seeing you like this.”
“You're still here? Leave already. Die for all I care.”
Something inside you had snapped and you fell silent. Was it your heart? The heart you reserved for the blond male? ((A/N: So in Gray's part, I spelt it blonde, but that's because I'm stuck on French and blonde is feminine and blond is masculine. You'll see this a lot))
“Fine. If it'll make you happy, then I'll go.”
“Good!”

You had heard that Laxus had left Fairy Tail after what he had done.
It was about a month ago when it all happened, but you were at home in bed. You rillness had driven you to be stuck in bed. Pretty soon, the whole guild found out about your illness, but it was after Laxus had left.
There was no chance in seeing him before you would pass away now. The only thing you got that was close to Laxus were the visits you got from Freed, Evergreen, and Bickslow. Their visits were nick. I twas even then you had told them how you felt about Laxus.
Every green and Bickslow seemed to already be away of your feelings while Freed had broken into tears feeling terrible by his actions prior to you being bed written.
“Could you three do me a favor?”
They were just about to leave for the day when you spoke up.
In your hand was a letter.
“If you ever see him, could you give this to him? I don't really think he'd be coming to visit me any time soon.”
Freed stared at the floor in silence. Bickslow remained silent as Evergreen walked over to take the letter with a smile.
“If it'll make you happy, then I'll give it to him personally.”
You smiled and nodded.
The trio left your room, but you kept your smile until you were sure they were out of your home. When the sound of the front door closed, your tears fell.

Seven years had gone by and Laxus had returned to Fairy Tail.
Everyone cheered as their powerful mages were now back after missing for such a long time.
Unknowingly of your disease, Laxus had noticed that you were nowhere to be found.
“Hey, old man. Where's (First Name)?”
Freed and Bickslow became tense while Evergreen left. Makarove sighed and Macao looked at the floor.
“She's most likely---”
“(First Name) is dead.”
They all looked at Macao. He was trembling. The old man had taken a seat while holding his head in his hands feeling useless.
“Macao, did she really?” Makarov asked in shock.
“The hell do you mean (First Name) is dead?! Did she go off and do something stupid?! Tell me damn it!”
Laxus was in rage at the news of your death.
Makarov frowned and said, “Laxus! She was born with a rare disease. There was nothing we could do. (First Name) didn't want you to know, so I made sure to keep it from you.”
There was silence in the guild. Silence for the deceased girl they had all grown to love.
He instantly walked out and headed for your house. Laxus didn't wanted to believe that you were gone. There was no way! He had to apologize for all the crap he said to you seven years ago, so you couldn't be dead!

Laxus sat outside of your former home. A new family had moved in and told him the news of your passing two years ago. Neighbors found you n your bed sleeping peacefully with a kind smile.
He felt terrible. Laxus didn't want you to be dead even if he had yelled it at you. The mage didn't mean it.
Evergreen appeared and said, “Figured you would be here.”
“Is this my punishment for what I did to her?”
“I don't know, but...the last time I saw her, she wanted me to give this to you. Guess (First Name) knew she wouldn't be alive the next time you two would meet.”
Laxus slowly took the letter and opened it carefully. The letter still had your scent on it making him smile just a bit.
Dear Laxus,
I'm sure by the time you read this, I won't be around anymore. Don't blame yourself for this. This stupid disease has been in my family for a long time and it's the reason as to why my parents died when I was at a young age. So it's not your fault.
Lat time we spoke...it wasn't how I wanted it to go. That day, I was trying to bring back the old days of when we were close. You were always cheering me up and protecting me or scolding me when I did something wrong. I'm glad that I got to share those memories with you, Laxus. Even though you've grown a bad temper over the years, I'm sure the old Laxus is still in there somewhere.
The Laxus I fell in love with.
I'm sure everyone will be sad when I'm gone, but I don't want that. I want Fairy Tail to still be the happy place I grew up in. Think you could do that for me? Keeping the place I loved a happy place? I'd be very grateful.
Ah, there's one more thing!
Don't hate your grandfather for what he did. He's more of a father to you than your actual father. Take care of him and spend time with him. No one lives forever, Laxus.
Take care of yourself and be happy. I'll be watching from above.

Tears fell down his cheeks as he finished your letter. You were always a caring person. Now, it just seemed like a lit that you were gone, but the truth was in his hands. You were gone and there was no chance of getting you back.
He got up and said, “Let's head back. We need to rebuild Fairy Tail.”
“Huh? And why are you suddenly taking interest in that?”
Laxus looked at Evergreen.
“I've got a promise to keep.”
