Violette stared at the ceiling, waiting for sleep to come. The dark room she was in gave her shivers down her spine. The sound of the rain was the only thing that comforted her in this gloomy lonely night.

She pulled up the covers over her body. She couldn't sleep. Her brain kept replaying what Lucián said to her before he went to sleep. You're quite strange. I've never met someone like you before. I still can't comprehend why we get along fairly well. The way he said it seemed sincere. It was as if she mattered to him.

Why was she suddenly affected by his words? She let out a frustrated groan and then, slapped her forehead. It wasn't even a love confession and yet, it affected her greatly. Maybe it is because of the tone of his voice.

"I wouldn't want to fall in love with some dude from the past. I don't do old guys," she muttered before letting out a laugh. She froze upon remembering her precious dog, Tala. Oh no. How could I have forgotten about him? Stupid Lucian.

After tossing and turning on her bed multiple times, she decided to get some fresh air but unfortunately, it was raining outside. She got off the bed and walked towards the window, scowling. She sighed and sat down her bed while watching the droplets on the window fall. It was rather entertaining, especially when she had to guess which raindrop will fall down first.

She averted her gaze upon hearing footsteps coming towards the door. She heard a knock and a familiar voice call her name. "Violette? Are you still awake?"

"Yeah. I'm having trouble falling asleep," she replied as she stood up and walked towards the door. She stood in front of it for a moment in hesitation. "Violette?"

She grabbed the doorknob and twisted it open, revealing a sleepy Lucian. He yawned before saying, "I have the same problem." She raised an eyebrow at him, questioning his reason for coming to her.

"Why are you even here?" she asked while crossing her arms over her chest. He sheepishly smiled and scratched the back of his neck before saying, "I have this problem. I would usually sleep while cuddling my...teddybear..."

"I-I have a hard time catching sleep if I don't cuddle it," he added while averting his gaze as his cheeks turned bright res in embarrassment. She blinked her eyes and said, "W-What? What are you implying?"

She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She saw him as this arrogant tough guy who values his ego too much. A teddybear? Of all things he could cuddle. But it's kinda cute. Hehehe. A grin appeared on her face as a thought came into her mind.

"Do you want to cuddle with me instead?" she blurted out. It came out like she was implying something else. Something inappropriate. His face turned even more red upon hearing her statement. He shook his head and said, "I would rather cuddle with a cactus than get an inch close to you."

"Then, why are you here?" she asked with a teasing smile. His cheeks turned bright red as he muttered, "If anyone finds out about this, my reputation would be ruined." He avoided looking straight into her eyes as he continued talking. "May I borrow a pillow?"

Violette stared at Lucián with a rather disappointed and surprised face. She never expected him to say that. She blushed in shame upon realizing how green her mind had been. She slapped her cheeks and said, "A pillow?!"

He gave her a puzzled look as he scratched his head. Upon noticing the expression on her face, he smirked once he realized what happened. "Oh. Where you expecting something else? Hmm. I wonder what that could be? Care to tell this handsome being?"

She rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Handsome? Give me a break. I've already seen guys that are far more attractive than you." All of sudden, he started unbuttoning his shirt with a smirk still implanted on his face. She gasped and turned bright red.

"What the fuck are you doing?!"He let out a laugh before replying, "I figured that your definition of attractive doesn't surround on the face." She awkwardly laughed and denied his claim. She immediately grabbed a pillow from her bed and threw it towards him. Fortunately, he caught it on time.

"Now, can you leave? You're disturbing my beauty sleep," Violette said as she was about to close the door. He raised an eyebrow at her statement and said, "Oh. I'm certain that you weren't sleeping in the first place. You did say that you have trouble sleeping."

He laughed at my reaction before finally leaving her in peace. She stared at his retreating figure with a rather small smile on her face. This idiot. She closed the door and sighed in relief. Maybe, things aren't so bad after all.

Alexandero faced back and forth in his room as he thought about the bad things that might have happened to her. Helena. He hasn't seen her for a week. The typhoon has already left. Everyone in Cielo Brillante spent their time cleaning up the mess brought by the typhoon.

I've forgotten that she can't swim. He stopped walking upon realizing that it might be possible that something unexpected happened to her. He already went to her secret meeting place many times but she never came. It was as if she suddenly disappeared into thin air, leaving no clue for her lover to find out about her whereabouts.

He even went to her house but it was empty. Her belongings were left untouched as if she never left. He speculated that she might have been forced to stay in her master's home. He knew that she would never dare to leave him without an explanation.

He walked towards the window and stared at the rain as it fell down. Today's weather isn't any better than yesterday. He placed his palm on the glass and looked at his reflection. A memory flashed onto his mind. A memory that used to torment him.

He remembered seeing his grandmother's ruined face after she fell down the stairs. It terrified him when he was little. Due to her appearance, she destroyed every single mirror in the house. Only the reflection of the glass window gave him a clear picture of his physical appearance.

His grandmother was vain. So much so that she neglected taking care of her grandson, Alexandero. His father never paid any attention nor did he cared. His mother was nowhere to be found. Only his cruel and vain grandmother.

He let out a chuckle upon remembering the first time he did something naughty. He pushed one of the servants down the stairs when she was cleaning. He felt a sense of satisfaction upon doing that. He felt powerful. He wasn't punished for it because he blamed it on his grandmother.

He pulled his palm away from the window, leaving a mark of his hand. He went out of his room and decided to have some entertainment. Not the entertainment that young men such as him would usually like.

He smirked upon catching sight of a servant sweeping the floor of the dining room. What should I do to this thing? He scanned the room until he caught sight of the utensils on the table. He grabbed a fork and twirled it on his fingers, thinking of what to do with it. He had the urge to throw it straight at her face.

He let out a deep breath before slowly walking towards her. He was about to throw the fork like a dart when he froze. Helena suddenly came into his mind. The servant reminded him of her. Aside from the physical appearance, they were both servants.

Lucián's cheeks turned red upon remembering what he did last night. He wanted to bury himself into the ground out of embarrassment. While they were eating breakfast, he avoided looking at her direction.

He was jesting the whole time he did that. He never meant to take it that far to the point where it came out wrong. He stayed silent as he ate the food given to them. It wasn't the usual thing he would eat. He was rather fine with the taste of the salty dried fish locally known as tuyo.

He was also embarrassed with the day he ate the fish. He was like a baby trying out his first solid food. But there was one thing he couldn't understand. Why was it partnered with the sweet chocolate rice porridge which is also known as champorado?

It was rather peculiar. He couldn't help but feel eyes on him as he ate. He glanced at the corner of his eye to find Violette in deep thought. He expected her to tease him about the situation but she remained unfazed.

After eating breakfast and thanking the old couple for their generosity, they decided to go back to the Palacio residence. As they walked down the road, they prayed that it wouldn't rain. Lucián was scowling the whole time. They didn't have any money or anything with them.

They weren't able to pay for any transport. It was such a huge embarrassment for him. It felt like he was being punished for having luxuries. "Stop frowning. You look like you're having constipation," Violette said as she wiped the sweat off her forehead.

"We've been walking for three hours! I can't stand it." She ignored his statement and continued walking. This guy is getting on my nerves. "Oh, beloved compassionate Violette. Would you willingly and wholeheartedly carry me so I would no longer get tired from walking."

"Whatever. I don't care. I'm not your Romeo," she replied and rolled her eyes. He shook his head and replied, "You don't look like a Juliet nor a Romeo but rather a background character."

"You're uglier than Hephaestus." Lucián let out a laugh from her reply. "Oh, Violette. That statement is rather insulting to Hephaestus. It seemed to be that you are more into appearances than other things."

"So what? That's just a bonus. If I see a good looking guy that is not a jerk, I'm all in."

"That makes me wonder....What kept you up last night?"

"...."

"You seem quite red. Are you sure you aren't feeling ill?"

"I'm fine. Let's just keep walking."

Lucián couldn't help but laugh upon seeing her flustered state. As much as he wanted to tease her, he wouldn't want to have her running away from him and leaving him alone in the terrifying outside world. For some odd reason, she's rather brave to adapt easily in this environment. She wasn't from this time. That's what she said.

His emerald blue eyes stared at her as she walked along side him. A girl lost in time. Maybe I should write something about that. He couldn't help but chuckle upon noticing how unladylike she walked.

His thoughts were interrupted when they heard what seemed to be horses running towards them. They turned their heads to find a carriage. Lucián's eyes lit up upon seeing it. He had forgotten they have no money with them.

"Lucy, we don't have any money." Lucián sighed in disappointment as the carriage went pass them. He stared at the it as it went ahead of them. "I know, Violin. I'm not used to this. The sooner we get back, the better it'll be."

"Yeah....W-Wait. Did you just call me Violin?!" He grinned and replied, "Oh. It's a great representation of you. Do you want to know why? You make me feel a lot of different emotions and as of now, I feel quite comfortable with you."
