Two years later...
*Jen's POV
I walk up and down the street, searching for number twelve Grimmauld Place, but there is none. There is an elven and a thirteen but no twelve. I stare at the place where there should be a twelve.
"Damn you Black." I mumble. "You've sent me on a wild goose chase, you bastard!" I kick a rock in anger. Suddenly the street starts to move and from between eleven and thirteen a house appears. I quickly run up the steps, afraid it'll disappear as quickly as it appeared. I knock on the door and when there is no answer I open the door and enter. The hallway is dark and gloomy. At the end of the hall there is a door and I cancer voices coming from it. Slowly I open the door, everyone turns and stares at me.
"Jen, so glad you got the message." I stare at Sirius, he looks cleaner than when I last saw him, shaven, showered and nice pressed clothes. My eyes skim over everyone who is sat around the table. Remus, Nymphadora Tonks, Dumbledore, Moody, a couple of ginger people who I can;t for the life of me remember what their names are.
"Uh, yeah, uh, hi?" I say as I stand awkwardly in the doorway. The ginger woman stands up and offers me her seat.
"It's so nice to finally meet you. I'm Molly Weasley and this is my husband Arthur." I think I vaguely remember them being heads of school at one time. I sit down opposite Remus.
"Jennifer. It's been so long." He says, clasping and un-clasping his hands.
"Too long." I say. I brush hair out of my face and Remus' eyes lock on my wedding ring.
"Still married to that muggle I see." He scoff and I can't tell if he's scoffing because I'm married or because I married a muggle.
"Obviously, you see the thing about marriage is that it's for life. I take it you're single considering you couldn't pick up a prostitute much less an intelligent witch." I say, leaning back and crossing my arms.
"That's where you're wrong because I specifically remember dating one throughout most of my seventh year." He says, striking the same pose as me.
"What? An intelligent witch?" I ask with a smirk.
"No, a prostitute." He says shrugging and is surprises me that he could be so mean.
"I'm going to get dinner on the go. Jen will you be staying?" She asks. I look over at Remus who is staring at me while shaking his head, I smile at him.
"I'd love to." I say and he glares at me. Suddenly Sirius stands up.
"Jen, Remus, a word." He says, pointing at the door. We stand up slowly and leave, following Sirius into another room.
"Okay, you two need to sort this out. Right now. Because I can't have you calling each other prostitutes when there are kids in the room." He says, pushing us both down onto a sofa.
"Sirius when did you care about kids?" I ask.
"Since I have grown up." He says proudly. "Now, you two need to talk to each other." I look at Remus and then look at Sirius with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, no. I have nothing to say to him that I haven't said already." I say as I cross my arms.
"You guys are acting like five year olds! It's times like this I miss Lily, she would have made you two the besets of friends by now." He says, slumping in a chair. I look at the wall behind him.
"Is that your family tree?" I ask.
"Yeah." He says, pointing at a face that's been burned off. "Guys, can I ask you something?" He asks. We both nod, thankful that the conversation is not focussed on us anymore. "Okay, so, hypothetically, if I got a girl knocked up. What should I do?" We both laugh.
"Sirius how the hell would you get a girl pregnant?"
"Do you want me to go into details?" He asks, smirking, waggling his eyebrows.
"Ew, no. But you're supposed to be in hiding and you're a convicted murderer."
"Muggle chicks don't know that. And besides we're going off point. What should I do?"
"This is all hypothetical, right?" Remus asks, concerned.
"Yes."
"Okay, well, hypothetically you should do whatever you can to help the girl. She's probably scared and worried and so you should be there for her. Hypothetically, of course." Remus says.
"Okay, cool. Help her and be there for her." He repeats to himself.
"Sirius, are you sure this is hypothetical?" I ask.
"Yes. Hypothetical. How would I get a girl pregnant when I've been devoting all my time to The Order?" He says, his voice getting unusually high. I cock my head to the side and stare at his sceptically. "I swear. I have not got a girl pregnant."
"Okay. I believe you." I say, holding my hands up in surrender.
"Now, you two." He says, pointing at us. "Need to talk to each other about everything that has happened...ever." He says as he leaves, closing the door behind him. We sit in silence, not looking at each other. I look at the family tree, I never realised how many people could be connected to The Nobel House of Black. Suddenly the door creaks open and a fluffy ginger cat enters, he walks towards me and jumps up on my lap, I start patting him and then he bites me, then he settles down an falls asleep on me. A short while later Remus and I are still sitting in silence when a group of kids enter, most of them ginger. A girl emerges with bushy, brown hair, she walks towards me and plucks the cat off my lap. She hands him to a ginger boy, who must be the same age as her, behind her before offering me her hand.
"I'm Hermione Granger. I don't believe we've met." She says with a smile.
"And I don't believe we need to because I'm leaving." I get up and so does Remus. I walk towards the door but he grabs my wrist, his signature move.
"Wait, Jen. Sirius is right, we should talk about this."
"No and do you know why? Because talking about things only makes things worse."
"That's where you're wrong! You need to stay here and talk."
"No, I need to go back to America."
"And what? Live as a muggle with Damien."
"His name is Darren and you know that. Remus I think you just need to accept the fact that I got over you. I am happily married with Darren and I am not going to let you ruin it! And you need to get over it soon because the ministry gave me a job. I'm moving back!" I yell as I stomp out the room. I yell goodbye to Sirius before leaving in a huff and apparating to Darren and I's new flat.
