It was a quiet night in the sea, most of the sea dwellers were at home asleep, while others found themselves staying awake for the night, taking in all the beautiful scenery. Just like how the moon's light reflected onto the ocean and the Blue Sea Pearl, making the pearl seem to shine brighter than usual.
It just so happens that you were one of those others, a [fave sea creature] that couldn't sleep the night away. So, you found yourself walking down a path you don't usually walk down, because you felt like you could take a new change of pace.
It was nice, peaceful, and quiet, just how you liked it. But, sometimes, you felt as if you were being watched.
You shrugged it off, but still kept your guard up, just in case.
Which actually turned out to be a good decision, because you ended up being shoved by someone, making you stumble and almost fall.
"Watch it," the person grumble, turning to look at you.
You stared at his red eyes and stood up straight, glaring at the person in front of you, "You're the one who ran into me." You snapped.
His eyes narrowed as he turned to face you, basically towering over you, "Hasn't anyone told you too watch your attitude?" He asked.
Ah, you thought. He's one of those guys, huh.
"Oh I'm sorry, I wouldn't have an attitude if you hadn't ran into me," You sighed, crossing your arms.
"Do you know who you're even talking too?" He growled.
You shook your head, "No, I don't. Mind telling me?"
He tilted his head before letting out a slight chuckle, "Tch, wow...you're somethin else. The name's Cherryblood."
"Cherryblood?" You quietioned. "Sounds pretty tough, I guess.." you found yourself giggling.
"What're you giggling about?" Cherryblood asked.
"Nothing nothing," you giggled, "it's just, what kind of name is Cherryblood?"
The look on Cherry's face made you giggle more. He was pissed.
"Huh?! Are you making fun of my name?" He asked angrily.
You shook your head again, "No, I'm laughing at your face. Now I see why you call yourself Cherryblood."
"Shut up!"
"Make me, Cherryblood~"
"Ugh, I haven't even known you for 2 minutes and I already hate you!" He snapped, glaring at you.
"Well, why not know me longer then, asshole?" You asked, putting out your hand. "My name's [Y/N]"
Cherryblood huffed, "I'm not taking your fucking hand, bitch."
You giggled, "Alright."
Despite his rude introduction to you, time passed, and yet you found yourself running into him more often, still making fun of each other for the dumbest reasons.
"Nice black eye, Cherry."
"Tch, I know, right? Wanna try it on?"
"You look like shit."
"You are shit, [Y/N]!"
The insults went on and on forever, but you both knew they weren't real insults.
I mean, who would insult their partner in crime?

There's a certain memory you remember, about 2 years after you met him. Cherry came to your house, bruised and covered in blood, which wouldn't be all to weird, if it wasn't the fact that he was covered in his own blood.
"Oh geez, what the hell happened, Cherry?" You asked frantically, rushing towards him.
He sighed, "J-just some...random bastard...came out of n-nowhere, didn't give me a chance..." he growled, leaning on you for support.
You looked at him sadly. He was hiding something.
"Okay, Cherry...lets go get you cleaned up."
It was after that night where you felt him grow protective of you.
You would confront him about that night, and get the same answer.
"It was just some random asshole."
You eventually dropped confronting him about the incident, seeing as you weren't going to get anything from him.

One night, you were hanging out with Cherryblood at your house. Laying with each other on the couch in silence.
Well, it was silent.
"Hey...[Y/N]...are you awake?" Cherry mumbled.
"Mhm, what is it, Cherry?" You asked, keeping your eyes closed.
He hesitated before he spoke again, taking in a sharp breath. "[Y/N], I...I'm starting to think it's too dangerous for you to be around me."
You froze, "Huh? What do you...mean?"
"You know what I mean," he said, sitting up and making you almost fall off the couch, "I don't want you getting hurt anymore because of me."
"Cherry-"
"[Y/N], I love you, okay?" He snapped, cutting you off. "And I want to make sure you won't get hurt."
You thought for a moment, "Is that why you wouldn't tell me anything about that one night?"
Cherryblood nodded, "I don't even know how he found out about you, but he...he threatened to come after you. He was strong as hell and I can't let you get attacked like that."
"Cherry...you're planning to leave, aren't you," you mumbled, sitting up.
Cherry nodded slowly, "Yeah..."
"Well," you stood up next to him, grabbing his hand, "Can I ask you something?"
"Go ahead," he sighed.
"Cherryblood, promise me we'll see each other in the future," You smiled.
He looked at you weirdly, "Hey, I don't make promises, you know this. And that question was cheesy as fuck."
"I know you don't," you giggled, "But take it into consideration, you asshole."
"I'll try, [Y/N]," He muttered, bring you and himself down to the couch again.
You ended up falling asleep on him, one of the last good nights you had.
The next morning, your partner in crime was gone...

Peaceful years passed as you waited patiently, though, you never did expect him to turn up any time soon.
You walked out of the coral path, finding it better to head back to your home in Umizoko Town.
You continued walking and looking at the floor until you heard-
"[Y/N]?"
You recognized that voice almost instantly, whipping your head to face the man that ran away from you.
"Cherry,"
You noticed the enormous lobster and a girl shorter than Cherryblood next to him.
You put the pieces together quickly.
"It's been forever! And- Aw, you have a family now, Cherry!" You chirped, going up to the shrimp and giving him a hug.
"Dear, who is this?" The giant lobster asked, her voice having a hint of concern.
"Sweetheart, this is my old friend, [Y/N], she's a [Fave Sea Creature] I met when I was younger," Cherryblood said softly, a warm smile placed on his lips as he hugged you back, then let go, "[Y/N], this is my wife, Doloz."
You waved, "Hello!~"
You turned to face Cherry again and smirked, "Now I see why you never visited, Cherryblood."
He smiled, but glanced over his shoulder, making sure his wife or daughter wasn't looking, then looked back at you, his expression dark, "It's Cherryblod now, [Y/N]." His smiled changed to something more sinister.
You grinned, "Sorry, Cherryblod."
He's still has his old self in him.
