The day?

"So who is Andrew?"
Caleb looked up from his bowl of cereal and arched a brow at the older. "Pardon?"
"Andrew. Who is he?"
"He's not a real person, babe."
"Yeah. I mean ... my bad. Who was he?"
"Andrew was the name of my first boyfriend."
"Oh." Minho nodded slowly. Now he understood where Andrew came from. At least he hadn't made up some random person. "What happened? Why'd y'all break up?"
"Uh ... We had an argument one night. I don't remember about what. But he went for a walk that night to calm down and he got hit by a car. A drunk driver."
Minho frowned. Caleb looked sad. But he didn't look like he was about to cry. Not like he did when he talked about his parents.
It almost as if he wasn't really sad.
"I never got to tell him that I loved him." He pushed around the cereal in his bowl some. "I guess stuff like that happens. Right?"
"Sure." Minho agreed with a shrug.
Silence overtook the two. But it wasn't really awkward silence.
The silence lasted for a moment or two before Minho asked another question.
"So what, whose house did I pick you up from?"
"His parents' house?"
Peculiar. Minho thought. But he decided to not press the matter anymore. Caleb didn't seem to know.
So asking more would only frustrate them. And today was supposed to be a chill day.
"Don't look at me like that."
Minho didn't even realise he had been looking at Caleb. "Like what?"
"Like I'm a lost cause or something. Like you pity me. I don't need your sympathy."
"Caleb, what are you talking about? I literally look at you like this all the time."
"Yes. You always look at me like that."
"No. Caleb, this is my resting face. The same face you get mad at because It isn't 'emotional' enough."
"Whatever."
