"Holy shit!" Panic rises in Cassandra, "Alice! Grab Ariana. We need to get Bella upstairs." The words were spoken so quickly that Edward and Rosalie reacted quicker than Jacob. Jacob almost didn't catch the words Cassandra spitted out.
Cassandra follows quickly behind the two vampires, rushing in to the make shift exam room. Alice rushes in, leaving Ariana in the hallway, "Carlisle said the placenta must have detached."
Cassandra nods her head at the small girl, "Rosalie, hurry pass me the morphine!" Alice looks worried as she watches Cassandra works quickly to save Bella's life, "he's coming as fast as he can, but..."
Cassandra shakes her head, "but she has me. Alice, go to Ariana. Get Seth to sit with her. Hurry." Before Cassandra could tell Rosalie to hand her the scalpel, Rosalie is already leaning into cut Bella open, "ROSALIE! Don't! We have to let the morphine spread."
"There's no time to wait, he's dying," Rosalie spits out at the small immortal. Cassandra growls, "and I don't give a fuck."
"Get him out!" Bella spits out, pain lacing her face. Cassandra couldn't blink - everything was too fast for her. Cassandra quickly puts the scalpel to Bella's stomach and cuts quickly down. Jacob looks down at Bella, as she grunts out in pain, "hey, look at me."
As Cassandra starts to go in, Rosalie gets distracted by Bella's blood. Edward's mind was consumed by Rosalie's thoughts, "Rosalie! Don't!"
Rosalie was pushed aside by Edward, "Alice! Get her out of here."
Cassandra looks up, "shut the fuck up! I need to get this baby out of her." Bella screams out, "ow, Cassandra!"
Jacob looks to Cassandra as she looks for the sac, "change her!" Edward looks at the shape shifter, "I can't! Not while he's still in Bella."
Cassandra rips open the embryonic sac, with her bare hands, pulling out the baby. "Hey, hey. Look Bella, it's Renesmee." Cassandra lays Renesmee on Bella's chest. "You're beautiful," Bella whispers out.
"Bella?! Bella?!" Jacob yells out. Edward grabs Renesmee off of Bella, as Cassandra starts doing compressions. "Jacob! Help me, CPR, NOW."
Rosalie walks in while the two are doing CPR on Bella, "Edward, I can take her," Edward gives her a look, "I promise, I'm fine."
Edward hands the baby to Rosalie. "Edward! Venom, hurry! We need to do it now!" Cassandra spits out at Edward. Jacob takes over CPR while Cassandra grabs the big syringe with Edward's venom.
Rushing back to Bella, Cassandra runs her hand downs Bella's chest, trying to find her breast plate to get the syringe to her heart. "I'm so sorry Bella," Cassandra whispers, as she lifts the syringe up and brings her hands down quickly and hard, piercing through Bella's chest.
Edward starts to get paranoid that the venom doesn't start to spread. Leaning down, he starts placing bites all over Bella. Cassandra's eyes widen as she rushes over to start compressions again as Jacob backs away and sobs. "Oh my god."
Edward looks up as Cassandra pumps down on Bella's chest. "It's supposed to be working!" Edward whimpers out. Jacob looks to Edward, choking out, "I won't kill you. It would be too easy, you deserve to live with this."
Cassandra stops CPR and feels for the human girl's pulse. Realizing she doesn't have one, she turns to Edward, "Edward. . ."
Edward pushes Cassandra out the way, leaving the girl to land on the floor. Cassandra stands up, looking at Edward. Leaving Edward to mourn over his mate, she takes one more look at him and shuts the door quietly behind her.
Cassandra makes her way downstairs, passing the television room, seeing Alice and Jasper watching Sleeping Beauty - that Ariana must've put on. Finally coming upon the living room, she sees Jacob on his knees, watching as Rosalie rocks baby Renesmee in her arms. Cassandra's eyes widen - Jacob has imprinted. The pack couldn't even kill the girl even if they wanted too.
Ariana is kneeling in front of Rosalie as Rosalie lowers her arms for Ariana to see her baby cousin. Cassandra smiles as she watches Rosalie talk to Renesmee and Ariana. Cassandra watches as Jacob's head snaps up, his eyes widen as he looks outside.
"Cassandra, Jasper, Alice?!" Edward calls out to them, his voice echoing throughout the empty house. Cassandra looks around to see Ariana still sitting with Rosalie.
Jasper and Alice appear downstairs next to the small girl. Jasper places his hand on Cassandra's shoulder, "stay in here."
"No, I'm coming with you." With a sigh, the southern gentleman lead the way outside the house, quickly rushing to see the wolf pack surrounding the house. "We're outnumber."
A whooshing sound was heard, as Edward appears next to him, Bella's blood all over him. He looks over to see Cassandra with Bella's blood all over her as well, "I will not let them hurt my family."
Sam growls, making eye contact with Edward. Cassandra tilts her head, making eye contact with Paul. Paul growls at the small girl, digging his paw into the earth. Sam takes off, leading the pack to war, as Edward does the same. Cassandra stays in her spot, waiting for Paul to come to her. Paul growls and pounces towards his best friend. Cassandra runs towards him head on, doing a flip over him and turning around quickly to punch him in the nose.
Quickly hearing the man yelp in his wolf form, Cassandra quickly jumps over to him, locking her small legs over Paul's large neck. Squeezing till the wolf stops breathing - Cassandra falls to the ground with him, quickly letting go of his neck. Feeling anxiety rise in her, she leans down to feel for a pulse, and thank God, there was one.
Standing up, she sees Sam tackle Edward to ground, his large jaws snapping at Edward's face as he tries to get away. Cassandra's head snaps to the right, seeing Alice get knocked into the trees mid air. But a growl echoed through the air, as Cassandra slowly moves her head to the left to see Embry in a fighting stance, but little did she know, it wasn't pointed towards her.
Whipping her head around, she sees Ariana standing at the bottom of the steps with a bottle of apple juice, "mommy?" Slow motion - that's all that Cassandra was seeing in. She watches Embry pounce towards Ariana, "Ariana!"
Cassandra quickly runs after Embry, jumping over him in a flip to fling her arms out on his neck and dragging her down with him into the dirt. Embry continues to snap his jaws at the girl he called his friend. Cassandra screams out, as she feels the weight of the wolf disappear, as she quickly stands up in a daze, to see Emmett standing in front of her.
Emmett was quick to growl at the wolf as Cassandra rushes to pick up Ariana off the ground. Emmett stands as he watches Embry attack again, Emmett laying a punch into the boys nose. The wolf whimpers as he get flung through the clearing.
Leah and Seth show up, as Leah's wolf eyes widen, she sees Alice in danger. Caleb runs in a blur, catching Cassandra's eye, as he flings himself into the wolf snapping their jaws at Alice.
Cassandra watches as the whole family continues to fight. "Mommy? Mommy, you are bleeding."
Cassandra looks down at her arm that was dripping in blood, her forearm was bleeding again - the same place Paul scratched her at long before this. Cassandra breathes out, "baby, look away, tell me, what did you tell aunt Rosie?"
As Cassandra did that, Ariana lays her face in her mom's neck, as she rattles off to her mom about what she told Renesmee. As Cassandra steps down next to Emmett, Jacob jumps over the railing and in front of Edward, "stop! It's over! If you kill her, you kill me."
Cassandra snaps her head to Edward, as Edward reads her thoughts. Edward finally catches on to what was going on.
"Jacob imprinted, they can't hurt her. Whoever a wolf imprints on can't be harmed. It's their most absolute law." Edward speaks up, as Cassandra steps forward as Sam moves toward the family, "and look at that Sam! Your brother almost attacked MY daughter! Even better, almost attacked SETH'S IMPRINT!"
Sam bows his head and whimpers at the small girl. Leah growls at Sam as Sam nods his head to the group of wolves, leading them away from the Cullen's. Emmett grabs Cassandra's shoulder softly, taking Ariana from Cassandra, "let's get you cleaning up baby."
Cassandra smiles, letting Emmett wrap his free arm around her small frame. Leaning into him, Emmett smiles and kisses the top of her head. "I love you, Cassandra."
"I love you too, Emmett."
"Cassandra, are you sure you're okay?" Carlisle asks the small girl as he changes the bandages on her arm.
"Yes, I'm fine. It just sucks it's claw marks from Paul's lashing..." Carlisle looks up at her, his fingers working quickly and softly to wrap the bandage on her arm, "you might have scar tissue, but we'll look to see once you are fully healed."
"Please don't tell Michael or Camila..." Carlisle cocks his head to the side, finishing up the bandage, "why?"
"Because Michael will cut off his treaty with them because of me. We need him to stay in that treaty."
It's been three days sine the attack, and Bella is still in transformation. Edward was worried that Cassandra and him didn't save her in time, but Carlisle always told him to listen to her heart - it was still beating.
And Cassandra even told him it was from the morphine as well, she wasn't reacting because the morphine was in her body still.
And as the dawn stood before the family, Cassandra stayed curled in Emmett's side, as the two watch Ariana play with Renesmee on the ground. Rosalie stood next to Caleb, as Caleb poked fun at Cassandra for letting a wolf beat her up, but Cassandra just shook her head, as Jasper told Caleb she knocked Paul out and stopped Embry from getting Ariana.
"That's badass Cass - plus you being short adds more badass to it." Cassandra laughs at Caleb, calling him a dumbass, leaving the family to laugh at the two.
And with the last heartbeat sounding through the house, the Cullens get quiet, letting Bella's heartbeat stop for once and for all.
