I pulled into Troy's driveway and got out of the jeep. I walked up to the door and knocked.
A few seconds later the door opened and Mrs. Bolton was there. "Oh, hi McKenna.", she said.
"Good morning, Mrs. Bolton. Troy wanted me to stop by here before we went to work for the first time.", I gave her a big smile.
I saw Troy coming down the stairs before smiling and waving. "Hey, you ready?", he asked.
"As ready as I'll ever be."
"You two have fun.", Mrs. Bolton said before walking back inside the house.
"Come on!", I said as I pulled Troy out of the house and ran toward my car.
I started to get into the drivers side before Troy stopped me.
"I'm driving.", he said opening the drivers door for himself.
"Are you sure? I don't carry safety harnesses with me.", I told him, trying to keep a straight face, but failing. I started giggling as I looked as his annoyed face.
He eventually started to crack a smile before I jumped into the passenger side door and buckled myself in. He got in and started to pull out of the drive way.
"Brace for impact!", I screamed throughout the car.
He laughed and turned toward the highway, heading toward who knows where.

"Troy where are we going?", I asked as he turned into a long drive.
We passed a large sign reading 'Lava Springs' on it. "Troy, this place is like exclusive! How did you get us jobs here?"
"They called me. I told them about you and the rest of the gang.", he said.
I leaned over and kissed his cheek as he pulled into a parking spot.
"You're a lifeguard at the pool. Is that okay?", he asked, looking over at me.
I leaned back over and kissed his lips softly before pulling back to look at him. "It's perfect."
He smiled and we both got out and started for the front office. We walked inside and stopped at the front desk.
An older looking man with white hair sat behind the desk. He looked up at us and asked, "What can I do for you two?"
"Um, I'm Troy Bolton and you called yesterday about some job openings."
"Oh yes, Mr. Bolton. And you must be...", he trailed off when he got to my name.
"McKenna Turner.", I finished for him.
"Yes, if you two will follow me, I'll show you around and get you started.", the man said.
We followed him around the resort. I later learned that his name was Mr. Fulton. He had gave me my red swimsuit and taken me to the pool, where people were already lounging in chairs and swimming in the pool.
Sharpay and her minions were laying in lounge chairs, along with Ryan in between them.
Nothing much was happening. Everyone was swimming and enjoying themselves. At least I had the job though.
Troy walked through the gait and looked around before seeing me up on the rock that was the lifeguard stand.
I smiled and waved at him. He did the same back.
I heard a scream and saw a huge splash in the pool. Sharpay fell in, and it looked as if she was struggling to get out.
I dove into the pool and swam over to her. She kept screaming even though I was holding her up.
"I got you. I got you, it's okay.", I told her over and over again.
I got her to the shallow end and stood up in front of her.
"What are you doing here?!", she questioned me.
"I'm the new lifeguard.", I replied.
"Wait, are you a member here?", Troy asked from behind us.
"Uhh.", Sharpay squealed. She splashed me in the face before storming out of the pool.
Everyone from behind started to laugh. I turned around and shrugged my shoulders at Troy.

I checked my phone to see what time it was. It's time for my lunch break. I jumped off the rock and headed for the restaurant.
I opened the backdoor and walked into the kitchen where all of the gang was.
"Uh, it smells so good and I'm so hungry.", I said. Troy stood in front of me, his eyes wide and his head shaking.
"Miss. Turner. It would seem your lunch break doesn't start for three point five minutes. I do hope no members drowned in your absence.", Mr. Fulton stood in front of me, confronting me about how I'm apparently early.
"Hence forth, do clock in and out on time. Three infractions of any kind and your employment is terminated. Capisce?", he walked between Troy and I before turning and facing me again. I nodded in agreement, along with everyone else.
"Chop, chop, chop.", Mr. Fulton said before walking out of the kitchen.
"Okay, that man officially scares me.", Martha said from behind me.
"Suddenly I'm beginning to miss detention with Ms. Darbus. How sick is that?", Chad told Troy.
"Come on, we've got a hoop out back, two free meals a day, and we only have to wear these stupid outfits on duty. All for one and one for all!", Troy tried to make everyone feel better. He was failing.
"This is our summer. Now what team?", Troy yelled.
"Wildcats!", everyone chimed in.
"What team?", he said again.
"Wildcats!", everyone yelled again.
[Chad]
How did we get from the top of the world
To the bottom of the heap
[Taylor]
I don't recall you mentioning
The boss is such a creep
Chad and Taylor sung around Troy, complaining about the circumstances. In my opinion, Mr. Fulton and Sharpay are the only bad things about it. Gabriella rolled her eyes and shook her head. I nodded at her in agreement.
[Zeke]
We still have the ingredients
To make this summer sweet
Zeke put his arms around Chad and Troy, before Chad pulled Zeke's ear and moved away.
[Martha]
Well I got rags instead of riches
[Jason]
And all these dirty dishes
Jason rolled his cart full of dishes up to us.
[All except Troy, McKenna, and Gabriella]
I wish I had three wishes
[McKenna and Gabriella]
(Okay, guys, break it up.)
At least Gabriella and I were on the same page.
[Troy]

When Troy started dancing, everyone backed away to watch. Toward the end, Martha started to dance with him before Chad stopped her.
[Chad]
(Dude, what have you gotten us into?)
[Troy]
(Come on, we can totally turn this thing around.)
Troy tried to convince Chad but it just wasn't happening.
[Chad]
I'd rather face a seven footer
Straight up in the post
Chad stood up on the rack behind us, pretending like he was seven foot.
[Taylor]
That sure beats hangin' here
[Taylor & Martha]
And burning someone's toast
Taylor and Martha rolled in a toaster on a cart. Two pieces of burnt toast popped up and Troy caught them before they hit the ground.
[Jason]
I needed Benjamins
But this ain't worth the stress
[Kelsi]
Maybe there's a better way
To fix this greasy mess
Kelsi through a dirty rag on Troy's shoulder. Troy shoved it off before continuing.
[Troy]

A well-oiled machine
And we've faced tougher problems than this

While we get this job done
Troy slid on his knees and tripped Chad as he walked by. Troy stood up and put his hand on Chad's shoulder. Chad shoved it off and continued on his way.

Troy started to dance again. I stepped into place and danced with him, along with everyone else. Chad started in with us but then quit, leaving us alone.

Troy started beating on pans with a wooden spoon. Gabriella and I tapped the glasses with spoons, staying in beat with everyone else. I left Gabriella to sit on the metal table with Troy.

"So, can we work this out?", Troy asked him.
Chad looked around at everyone before saying, "Yeah, we can work it out."
Everyone started to cheer as Mr. Fulton's voice rang through the kitchen. We all scattered to where we were supposed to be before he came in.
This summer's going to be amazing. We can totally work this out.
