Farrah's POV

Dj and Kimmy stood in the kitchen, unpacking the food Kimmy bought from the 89¢ store. I picked through the bags, scanning the odd snack selection she had purchased.

The doorbell rang and Ramona quickly rushed down the steps to get it, "That's the dance team."

Kimmy showed Ramona the off brand Oreos she bought, proud of her purchase. She insisted that they serve them to the dance team as practice snacks.

"Couldn't you have spent an extra buck and bought the real thing?" Ramona sighed

Kimmy smiled, "Once it's on a plate you won't be able to tell the difference. Just don't eat it near an open flame."

I quickly grabbed one, before popping it in my mouth, "Yep. Tastes exactly the same."

Once they turned away, I quickly grabbed a napkin and spit the rest of the contents into it before dumping it in the trash.

Ramona continued the argument, leading her mom out of the kitchen toward the front door. DJ and I looked at each other laughing, while we continued unpacking the other snacks Kimmy bought.

Jackson walked through the back door with his skate board in hand, while Max excitedly trailed behind him.

"Hey" Dj greeted, looking over the two boys .

"Hey Mom," Jackson responded, "Going to study. Bye, Mom."

I stopped him as he neared the stairs, "Why do you look like a giant puffy marshmallow?"

"It's 90 degrees out and you have a jacket on. And that's not even your Jacket. What's going on?" Dj asked, catching on to what I had observed

He turned and looked at me, as I crossed my arms across my chest in a questioning way. He avoided my gaze and made the silent decision to deal with his mom instead.

"Ugh, Farrah you're turning into my mom. Always so suspicious! Can't I just be wearing my friend's jacket cause its National Jacket Swapping Day?" Jackson said, calling me out and trying to walk around any kind of argument that would arise with Dj

Dj ignored the boy's excuse and took charge over the conversation, "What are you up to?"

She approached him, gently removing his Jacket to reveal his arms covered in scratches and bruises. Dj gasped, and I rolled my eyes as the boy's small injuries.

"Jackson what happened?" I asked, annoyed that the situation was made out to be bigger than it really was

He sighed, "Oh, nothing."

"You're gonna lie to me? Fine. Watch this." I challenged, turning to Max for the second half of the interrogation, "Max, what happened?"

"He skateboarded off Bobby Popko's tool shed and wiped out." Max replied with a small smile

"Max!" Jackson snapped, angry at the boy for exposing his skateboarding secret

Max sighed, "Sorry. Here's your don't tell Mom or Farrah jolly ranchers back."

He gently placed the small pieces of candy onto the table, while Dj turned to face Jackson with a smile. She's was obviously excited about my success.

She gently grabbed him and pushed him into a chair, "Okay, have a seat. You know what you guys? Every time your at that Bobby Popko's house, something bad happens.

"I can't believe you went without me." I said, ignoring Dj's protective approach

He gave me an apologetic smile and I shook my head, taking the jolly ranchers off of the table and beginning to unwrap them.

"Aren't his parents around?" Dj asked, continuing her interrogation, while she handed me a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol.

Jackson nodded his head, "Oh, yes, yes. Of course. They're very responsible people."

"Max?" Dj asked, not believing a word that had come out of Jackson's mouth

"They're never home." Max responded, before dropping another bag of candy on the table, "Here's your skittles."

Dj sighed, "That's it. Until I talked to his parents, you are not allowed at the Popkos'."

"What? That's bogus." Jackson argued

"Yeah that's bogus! Can I have the skittles back?" Max agreed, hoping to get back any of the candy that I hadn't already eaten

I took the cotton swab Dj had given me, dousing it in rubbing alcohol before gently wiping the cuts on his arm. Jackson grimaced making me lightly snicker, "That's what you get for not taking me."

Steph walked down the stairs with a large smile on her face, "Boys, who's your favorite aunt? No need to answer. I know it's me." I am deejaying at Lucha Kaboom and I got us all tickets."

"Wow! That's amazing!" Jackson cheered, excited to see his favorite group of wrestlers

"Oh my Gosh!" Max cheered, sharing in Jackson's excitement

Dj smiled, "I get to go to Lucha Kaboom? What's Lucha Kaboom?"

"It's Mexican wrestling. It's got crazy outfits, stunts and crazy chickens." I replied, excited to see ridiculous fake wrestling

"And guess who's headlining? King Jaguarito." Steph cheered, cashing the level of excitement to exceed any of her expectations

"Who's king dorito?" Dj asked.

Max sighed, "Mom he's not a corn chip. He's king of the jaguars and he's my favorite wrestler!"

___________

After the excitement had died down, Jackson had decided to ignore Dj's rule and brought Max and I to Popko's

I stood by and watched as Jackson and Popko wrapped Max up in pillows and duct tape as protection from any kind of injury.

"Looking good, Max." I commented.

"We'd better run our safety test." Popko said, pointing to me for reassurance.

"Wait, uh, I don't know if that's such a good id-" I started, but before I could finish they were hitting Max with bats.

I cringed and silently prayed that they hadn't broken any of the poor boy's bones

"Did it hurt?" Jackson asked after they were done assaulting him

Max shook his head with a smile, "Not a bit."

"Safety test is a go!" Popko cheered, waving his bat around

Max laid down on the designated target, prepared to be body slammed by Jackson's jump from the tall platform.

Popko walked off the mat and threw his arm around my shoulder, making me roll my eyes, "Do it, dude!"

Jackson smirked from the top of the shed, putting on his mask and cheering out, "Prepare to be El Explosivo-ed!"

I noticed Dj walk into the backyard, and my nerves shot up knowing that Jackson was about to get into so much trouble.

Jackson didn't seem to spot his mother as I had, and continued to jump off the shed and onto Max.

"Jackson!" Dj yelled, running over to him.

"Hi, Mom" Jackson responded nervously, trying to hide his embarrassment from all of his friends.

"That better not be your brother." She gasped, looking at the big pile of pillows that happened to Max.

Max waved, "Hi, Mom."

"Max are you okay?" She asked, helping the poor boy sit up

He smiled, adjusting the pillows and helmets that surrounded him, "I'm fantastic!"

She glared, "You boys know you're not supposed to be here."

I smiled, only because she hadn't noticed that I had obviously come along with them.

Max looked confused, "Jackson said you gave us permission."

"And now you lied?" She asked, glaring at Jackson

"In my defense how did you even know I was here?" Jackson asked, trying to turn the argument around in his favor

"Dude your moms a vet. She must have dog chipped you." Popko guessed, fully believing that what he said was correct

"I did not dog chip him. I used mother's intuition." She replied, "Which is the name of the app I used to track you."

I continued smiling, partly because Dj still hadn't noticed my presence in Popko's busy backyard. Also, partly because tracking Jackson was a hilarious idea.

"You can forget about going to Lucha Kaboom." Dj said, deciding the only punishment that would actually effect him

"What!" Jackson cried, infuriated by Dj's decision

"And where are your parents?" Dj asked, turning to face Popko.

"My Mom just stepped out. She'll be back the minute you leave." Popko reassured

"Yeah I'm on to you, Popko. Let's go boys." Dj glared, before pointing a finger at me, "I see you too, Farrah. Come on."

I held out my hand to help Max up, before turning to face Popko, "We're gonna get going"

He nodded and we started to walk off before he called out, "Ay, Farrah!"

I rolled my eyes, "What Popko?"

"Call me." He smiled, giving me a small wink before he made his way back to his other friend

I smiled my eyes at his childish behavior and made my way over to Dj and the two boys so we could head home and get the punishments over with.

______________

Jackson walked into the living room with a cup of coffee for Dj. I only came with him in order to try I'm avoid any kind of punishment Dj might give me.

"Here you go mom. Coffee with a hint of almond milk, just the way you like it." Jackson smiled, hoping for complete forgiveness and permission to go to the match

"Jackson. Thank you for the coffee and for doing the dishes. And for breakfast in bed. But you're still not going." She said

We both sighed in frustration, knowing we had no other chances to prove him worthy of forgiveness. The wrestling match wasn't going be fun without Jackson, and now there's no chance he was going to get to come.

Well that's perfect! You know, I don't even wanna go. It sounds boring. How's that for reverse psychology?" He asked

"A little tip: when you're using reverse psychology, don't say you're using it." She smiled

"How am I supposed to know? I'm not a reverse psychologist!" He groaned

He grabbed my hand and dragged me to the couch so he could sulk before everyone left.

Max and Steph made their way into the living and headed to the front door with Dj, "Hey, Farrah. Are you coming?" .

I sighed, "If my best friend can't go, then I'm not gonna go either. It wouldn't be the same without him."

Dj smiled, before leading the other two out of the house and shutting the door behind them.

"Thanks." Jackson smiled, pulling me into a hug

We moved to the window with puppy cosmo, and watched the group pull out of the driveway and leave for the wrestling match.

Jackson decided he was going to go against Dj's wishes for the second time today, and called Popko who agreed to help us sneak out.

"Okay let's review the Popko plan." Popko began, "You guys put on your masks and sneak into the wrestling match."

"And I leave my phone here because my mom tracks me." Jackson said, "As if I can't be trusted."

Popko picked up cosmo, "Here's the genius part. I strapped the phone to the dogs collar, so your mom will think you're moving around."

Jackson look confused, "Why don't you just hold it and move around?"

Popko brought the dog closer to Jackson, "Do you want to tell him he's not part of the plan?"

Jackson sighed, "Okay, the dog's in."

Popko nodded, "Now go!"

We were almost at the door before he stopped us, " You forgot my payment."

Popko smiled and lightly tapped his cheek in anticipation. Jackson squinted confused and was about to kiss him on the cheek "Hey, hey. Not you, man"

I rolled my eyes and kissed Popko on the cheek, before grabbing Jackson's hand and rushing out the door before he could ask any questions.

_____________

Jackson and I arrived the the wrestling area, and walked in with our masks on to disguise ourselves from Dj.

Jackson stopped me, "Farrah that's Max's club. Max what are you doing in there?"

I moved my gaze to what he was looking at, and spotted something in the wrestling cage that did look like Max's wrestling club. Jackson rushed passed me, and quickly made his way towards to cage with me hesitation

"Jackson. No, no, stop" I said, trying to stop him from doing anything dumber than what we've already done

Jackson crawled in and tapped one of the chicken wrestlers on the shoulder, grabbing the man's attention. The wrestler grabbed Jackson and threw him against the ropes, making him trip.

"Jackson stop!" I called, worried for his safety.

They picked Jackson up off the ground and rested him against the ropes. They ripped off his mask, making Jackson appearance clear to everyone in the stadium

"Jackson?" Max called, running up to me as I realized it had never been Max in the cage

"Max?" Jackson called, looking toward the boy that stood outside of the ring besides me.

Dj caught sight of her eldest son and took no time running into the small cage to save him from any possible danger.

Jackson climbed out of the ring as Dj, somehow, used skills that no one knew about to defeat the wrestler who had come for her son.

I ran towards Jackson and threw my arms around him, "Are you insane! You could have gotten seriously hurt!"

He smiled, "I thought it was Max."

I gave him one last hug, before turning to watch Dj kick ads in the wrestling ring and take down anyone who tried to come for her. After DJ teamed up with Jaguarito and they took out the chickens with a double El Explosivo, the crowd went wild.

________

I sat on Max's bed as Jackson and Dj had a conversation about everything that had happened today. Dj ended up forgiving Jackson, but made sure to warn him of what could happen if he did something like that again.

"Try to stay away from the Popko kid he's troubled" Dj said, making me lightly laugh

"Mom, I can't he's my best friend." Jackson snapped, trying to defend his friend

"What about me?" I asked, throwing a sock at him

"You're more than my best friend, you're my kimmy gibbler." He smiled, making me laugh and at the same time tugging literally every heart string I had

Popko interrupted the moment by walking in with just a towel around his waist and neck. I groaned and turned to face away from him, to shield my eyes.

"That drought thing is such a scam. I just took a 90 minute shower." Popko cried, making me turn around share a look with Jackson.
