This chapter is dedicated to Karmisa-Akabane whose favourite part was the drama between Y/N, Alex and Lafayette. They think that in the future Y/n and Lafayette will get married but after Alex releases the Reynolds pamphlet it will be revealed that Lafayette also had an affair with Maria
"I can't believe he's getting married" I laugh to myself as I walk up to the nearest tailor's
I push open the door to fabricos an Italian tailor's he's made some of my best custom suits
For once I'm wearing a normal suit
I push open the door and shout "Zio, è il tuo cliente preferito Y/N"
(Uncle it's your favourite customer Y/n)
Uncle Rico walks out and smiles when he sees me
I notice things about him, his greying beard his receding hairline the wrinkles on his face. Even the way he stoops
"I'm 56 stop judging the way I look" He smiles and rolls his eyes
"Come to the back room I'm just finishing a Bridesmaid dress and then we can talk" Rico leads the way to the back room
(He's not her real uncle btw)
I follow behind him silently
On a stools is Peggy with a pale yellow bridesmaid dress on
And at the sides are Angelica and Eliza. Eliza has a wedding dress strewn over her lap and a giddy happy smile on her face
Angelica is smiling but.... There's a sadness in her eye
Angelica and Eliza haven't seen me yet but Peggy has
"Y/N, your here? Did you hear about the wedding!?" Peggy begins to bounce on her seat.
"Madama please sit still" Rico asks his Italian accent coming through
"Sorry" Peggy says a light blush over her cheeks
I giggle "Yeah, found out today actually"
Eliza turns to me, "Really? I know you and Alex haven't talked in a while but Mulligan or Lafayette didn't mention it to you?"
"Well Mulligan is visiting his wife before they ship him over to England and I just haven't seen Lafayette that much. Why how long ago did he ask you to marry him?" I tilt my head
"N/N, please get me the thickest yellow thread you can find" Rico asks not taking his eyes of his masterpiece
(N/N = nickname)
I nod and begin to look through the draws
"Over a week now" Angelica snickers from behind me
"Really" I try to sound enthusiastic but Angelica's cruel smirk is all I can watch
"Yep, me and Angelica have got our dresses and Peggy's is nearly done. Then we've just got the flowers and...." I begin to tune out whatever Eliza's saying as I search for the yellow thread
"FOUND IT" I shout a bit loudly as I raise the newly found thread in my hand
"Grazie Mille, Y/n" Uncle Rico smiles and takes the thread from my hands
"Is it nearly done?" Peggy looks at Rico with a wide grin
Rico chuckles a little, "Nearly, I'm just putting in the last few decorative stitches"
Rico looks at me "Se tu avessi mai avuto un figlio, sarebbero la cosa più iperattiva" he laughs
The girls look at us confused
"Don't question it and se avessi un figlio sarebbe il diavoletto più adorabile" I say smiling and leaning against the cabinet
"Haha why's that?" Rico says pulling the thread tight and biting through part of it
"It would have Maria as a teacher" I laugh and he shakes his head
"There we go" Rico stands up and looks at Peggy's dress as she twirls it around
"Betty it's beautiful" Peggy sound around a little more
Angelica chuckles at her youngest sisters antics
"Come on then we've still got to sort out table decorations" Angelica says taking Eliza's hand (not in that way)
The girls all leave the shop happy
"So, Y/n what do you need?" Rico asks
"Not much, I was wondering if you could patch up certain parts of my uniform
(I've just realised that for a soldier they'd wear normal uniform to a wedding)
"So.... I heard you found your fratello Alex " Rico looks at me smiling
"Yep, one down, one more to go. When I find James I'll finally make Dad proud" I say smiling as Rico begins to patch up a small hole
He stops a pained look come across his face "Y/n your father is already proud of you"
"Sure ...." I whisper to myself
Okay dokey piggety pokey
