Just two weeks into their budding relationship and they already have a weekly routine. Every morning, RJ would go to Nicki's condo unit and they'll have breakfast together before going to their respective classes. She was moving her lips languidly and coaxing his lips to open. When he gave in, she let her tongue play inside his mouth for awhile. But she felt him responding so eagerly and he was starting to deepen the kiss. She suddenly stopped. She was smiling as she pulled away and saw that RJ, with his eyes closed, was still left in daze.

which made him open his eyes.

When Nicki agreed that they'd have breakfast together, her only condition was that they'd take turns in preparing breakfast. She didn't want to burden RJ everyday with their meal so they settled with Nicki taking care of breakfast every Tuesdays and Thursdays while RJ would prepare during Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sometimes Sheena would join them especially if she stays in Nicki's condo the night before. But most of the time it would only be the two of them.
They wasted no time since they only have less than an hour left before RJ's class starts. When they were finished, RJ took care of the dishes while Nicki went back to her room to get her things. A few minutes passed and they were already riding the elevator going down to the parking lot.

They also take turns in driving Nicki's car per Nicki's request. Although RJ was hesitant at first, he knew he would never win the argument with Nicki. So every Monday and Friday, RJ would drive her car and take her to Benilde after breakfast then just walk or take a cab going to his campus. During Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Nicki would be the one behind the wheels and would drop him in front of his campus since his class starts earlier than hers. And because Nicki's car is coding on Thursdays, RJ borrows his cousin's car so he could still drive her to school.
During lunchtime in weekdays, when their schedule coincides, they would make an effort just to spend some more time with each other. Sometimes Nicki would surprise him by driving along with Sheena to his campus and RJ would ask also his friends to tag along for lunch. They'd hear nonstop teasing from the group. But oftentimes, it was RJ who travels to her school just so they could dine out together.

Nicki transferred to the driver's side as soon as RJ alighted the car. He gave her one last kiss on the lips before she drove off towards the entrance of their campus.
As soon as he arrived in school, he fished out his phone from his pocket and sent a text message to Nicki.
He was smiling from ear to ear as he put back the phone in his pocket and waited for his next class.
The rest of their day went by in a blur. Nicki and Sheena went straight to the gym as soon as their class ended. When they reached the gym, there was a commotion inside the locker room. Both ladies were stunned as soon as they stepped in. There were balloons of different colors hanging everywhere. But what caught their eye was the big banner that says, "Nicki Mendoza, will you go out on a date with me?".

Nicki was thrilled and she was rooted on the spot with her best friend. Her heart was beating wildly against her chest. She was starting to get nervous.
"OMG besh! In fairness kay Jay, effort kung effort! Haba ng hair mo dyan sa boyfriend mo tih!!!" Sheena whispered.
RJ?! Imposibleng si

She roamed her eyes around, looking for her boyfriend as she answered Sheena but she was suddenly cut off when her eyes laid upon the person who was responsible for the surprise.

"Oh shit!"
That was all Sheena could utter as their teammates started to whistle, cheer and tease Nicki.
"Hi baby girl!" Joaquin greeted as he stopped right in front of Nicki, carrying a big bouquet of roses in his hands. He handed it over to Nicki.

She said, not making any
move to accept the flowers.
"By the looks of it, successful ang surprise! C'mon, take the flowers na. This is for you, baby girl!"
She didn't know what to do. Wih her teammates and the rest of the men's team cheering, she was suddenly tormented on taking the flowers or turning him down.
Ang kulit talaga ng lahi nito! Ilang beses ko na ngang sinabi na may boyfriend na ako, hindi pa rin naniniwala. Argh! Gusto pa talagang mapahiya sa harap ng maraming tao!
She was about to turn her back but a loud whistle echoed in the entire women's locker room which startled everyone.
"Guys and girls, pwede bang later na yang ligawan na yan? We don't have time for that. Come on! Double time! Guys, i want all of you out of the women's locker room now! Hinihintay na kayo ng coach nyo! And girls, move your asses to the gym and start jogging! Nicki and Sheena, I will expect you two to be on gear in five minutes! Hurry! Chop chop!" Coach Pat commanded.
Joaquin forced her to take the bouquet and she was left with no choice as the rest of the team dispersed and ran out of the locker room. Nicki blew a sigh of relief as soon as she was left alone with Sheena in inside.
"Hay naku besh, ayaw ka talagang tantanan nyan ha? Hindi mo pa ba sinasabi sa kanyang taken ka na?"
I told him many times already.

Nicki was shaking her head with Sheena's teasing as she got her phone. She contemplated on calling or just sending RJ a text message. She decided on the latter.
Their training went on for hours even when Nicki was out of focus because the men's volleyball team were also training simultaneously with them. She was trying to put the issue at the back of her mind so she could concentrate but every now and then, Joaquin would do things that would caught not only her attention but all the other people in the gym and the two of them will be teased nonstop.
When Coach Pat noticed that the continuous teasing was taking a toll on Nicki's performance, she called out everyone to stop and just focus on the training. She even spoke with the coach of the men's team who happens to tolerate the behavior of Joaquin and was also contributing to the constant annoyance that puts discomfort to her ace player Nicki.
It was only when the teasing died down that Nicki found her bearings back and refocused on the practice. She looked at her coach and nodded her thanks then everything went well after that until the training was done.
Everyone was already gathered in the middle of the court with both coaches in front for the quick huddle and a few announcements for the opening of the Collegiate Tournament. After the huddle, the players already went to their respective locker rooms to freshen up.
Nicki was already walking along with Sheena when Joaquin made his way to her side and started to bother her again.
"Nicki, i'll wait for you outside the locker room ha. Ligo lang ako para mabango ako sa date natin."
Pumayag ba ako?!
She replied without sparing him a glance
as they continued to walk out of the gym.
"But, but you took the flowers—-"
She halted then turned to face him.
Nope. You made me accept the flowers.
I had no choice. Gusto mo ba isoli ko?
Then she turned and started to walk again,
not waiting for his reply.
"Nicki, wag naman. Grabe yung ineffort ko para lang makadate ka. Sige na please, pumayag ka na. Sama pa natin si Sheena kung gusto mo." He was briskly walking to catch up.

"Naku Joaquin wag mo na akong idamay dyan. Tsaka hindi rin naman sasama sayo si Nicki kahit anong gawin mo eh." Sheena butted in as they moved along.
"Nicki naman please, isang date lang. Sige na naman, pumayag ka na." He was very insistent.
Nicki stopped on her tracks again to face him. With furrowed brows, she heaved a deep breath trying to control her emotions before she responded.
Joaquin, alin ba sa "i'm already taken"

"Hep! Hep! Joaquin, don't make a scene here. Bitawan mo siya kundi sisigaw ako."
Sheena was ready to scream but even before she could open her mouth, a familiar voice made her mute and it also made Joaquin release Nicki's arm.
"Travinio, what are you doing with my girls?" Coach Pat suddenly appeared in front of them.
"Ah, wala po, coach. I was just confirming to Nicki of our dinner date tonight po. Sabi ko hihintayin ko na lang siya."
"Oh, so may date pala kayo? Eh bakit parang nagtatalo kayo dyan? Anyway, i'm out of your personal issues as long as di nakakadistract sa training and laro nyo yan. Sige na, mag-ayos ka na muna."
Joaquin nodded to Coach Pat then made his way to the men's shower room. As soon as Joaquin was out of sight, Coach Pat turned to Nicki and Sheena.
"Sheena, can I just have a word with Nicki?"
"Ay yes po coach, sige po mauna na ako sa locker room."
When Sheena left, Coach Pat guided Nicki towards the nearest bleachers and ask her to sit down.
Coach, thank you po...
"Nicki, I won't bit around the bush ha. I understand na distracted ka kanina sa game because of the teasing and all. Nakita ko talaga na nawala ka sa focus. But what i wanted to tell you is sana hindi palaging ganun. I think dapat masanay ka na sa mga pang-aasar because even sa games, it really happens. Nagegets mo ba ako?"
Opo. I'm sorry po.
"Hindi naman kita masisi because napakakulit talaga ng team, kaya nga sinuway ko na kanina. Pero paano yung mga susunod na training? Paano bukas? Kasi napag-usapan namin ni Coach Henry na simultaneous na ang training nyo with the Men's team since malapit na ang opening eh. Ibig bang sabihin nun palagi ka ring hindi makakaconcentrate because of Joaquin and the constant teasing?"
She kept silent and just listened to her coach.
"What I really want to tell you is, you should know, hindi ka dapat madistract agad sa mga ganun. Paano pag kalaban na team na ang nang-aasar? Masisira din ba ang laro mo? You see, sa volleyball you have to stay focused sa game. Kahit anong pang-iinis o pang-aasar, ipasok mo dito sa isang tenga, palabasin mo lang sa kabila. It's just like wala kang narinig. Kumabaga dedmahin mo na lang. The moment you get to your position inside the court, your focus should solely be on the game. Naiintindihan mo ba yun, Nicki?"

"Pwede naman kayong magdate ni Joaquin or magligawan before or after game eh. But when you're already in the game, your mind and body should also be in the game. Hindi pwedeng nandun ka lang pero lutang ka naman. Okay ba yun?"

She immediately headed towards the locker room after their talk. She found Sheena already freshened up and having some chitchat with her other teammates. When they noticed her inside the room, they all looked at her direction and eyed her mischievously.

"Nicki, totoo ba? Sabi ni Sheena artistahin daw ang bf mo? Kaya naman pala basted si Joaqui eh." One of their teammates asked as everyone in the room giggledz

She glared at her best friend who was
grinning with a peace sign at her.
"Kaya pala blooming ka lately eh. Iba talaga ng glow pag inlove eh. Yihee! Baka naman Nicki, pakilala mo kami baka may friends pa yan. Hehehe!" Another teammate added.

She shook her head and smiled as she
got her things and went to shower.
"Huy tigilan nyo na si beshie baka mapikon na yan. Hihi! I'm sure naman makikilala nyo din ang baby boy nya soon. Basta alam nyo na ha? Off limits na si Nicki kasi taken na yan. Kaya sa susunod, hindi na pwede yung ginawa ni Joaquin na pasurprise na ganyan. Baka makarating pa kay baby boy nya, mabrokenheart pa si beshie ko."

She was already taking a bath
as she listened to her teammates.
"Oo naman. Hindi naman kasi namin alam na may bf na pala si Nicki so when Joaquin asked us a favor, syempre tinulungan namin siya. Pero hindi na ngayon. You can count on us dyan. Support kami sa lovelife ni Cap, pordalab!"
"Yeeeees! That's more like it! Hehe!" Sheena clapped her hands in glee.
"Oh sige na, Sheena, mauuna na kami sa inyo. Bye Cap, stay inlove ha? Hihihi! Kung kailangan mo ng tulong para tantanan ka na ni Joaqui, sabihan mo lang kami. We got your back!"
As their teammates went out, Nicki finally came out of the shower room. She saw Sheena seated in one of their benches inside the room, busy tinkering on her phone. She sat beside her.
What did you do?
"Uy besh! Ang bilis mo ha? Magbihis ka na, gutom na ako."

The call ended just as Nicki and Sheena was sprinted out of the gym. When they walked to the parking lot, they saw Joaquin standing next to Nicki's car.

Sheena guided Nicki to get inside the car as she glared at Joaquin. But Joaquin didn't back down easily and blocked the door of the driver's side.

Nicki didn't even notice that the flowers were still in her hands. She only took it with her so she can actually give it back to him. Now, she regretted her decision. She should've just thrown it in the trash as what Sheena suggested.

She threw the bouquet in front of Joaquin and quickly opened the door to the passenger side as Sheena hurriedly entered the back seat. She transferred to the driver's side at once then she locked the doors and started the car engine. Joaquin was still continuously knocking at her window.
"Nicki, you can't get away from me. Kahit ilang beses mo akong iwasan magkikita't magkikita pa rin tayo dito sa campus. Kaya wag ka na mag-imbento ng imaginary boyfriend. I won't believe you."
She was both scared and furious with the way Joaquin has been acting. She wanted to get it over with so she started to drive away from the parking lot. But Joaquin was determined so he hopped in his car and soon tailed behind her.
He finally blew a huge sigh of relief as soon as he saw Nicki's car exiting the campus. It stopped right in front of him and he waited for Nicki to get off the car but she didn't. Instead, she rolled down her window and asked him to get in fast. He seemed puzzled but he followed her nonetheless. He was about to enter her car when he heard a guy calling his girlfriend's name from behind.
"Nicki, please just one date. Let me just have you for tonight."
He was stunned and it was as if all the blood in his veins went to his head. He shut her door and turned to face the guy with his brows furrowed.
Oh gahd! Sheens, help me!
Baka mag-away yung dalawa!
Nicki and Sheena jumped off the car right away. Sheena stood in between the guys while Nicki quickly ran to RJ's side. She snaked her arm in his and intertwined their fingers. A move that pacified his boyfriend.
Joaquin,
I would like you to meet RJ,
MY BOYFRIEND!
