"Are you okay?" Hyunjin asked. I looked at him and nodded. But he doesn't look convinced. He sat beside me and was hesitating if he'll caress my back but he did anyway.
"I'm sorry. You got involved in my problem." I apologized. He punched our senior for calling me ugly and unattractive and the next thing I knew, we were already at the principal's office.
"Next time, if someone says something bad about you, I want to get involve." He said. I looked at him straight into his eyes. Why is he being like this?
"I need to go home!" I immediately stand up from my seat. He looked at me while he is still sitting and slowly nodded.
"Do you want me to walk you to the bus stop?" He asked. I shook my head and bow to him.
"Thank you so much for today. See you!" I walked fast and the last thing I heard from him is 'See you'.
The next day, I woke up early. I didn't even get enough sleep. I looked at the mirror and saw my awful face. I have huge eyebags, puffy face and really pale skin. Do I really look ugly?
"Whoa! What are you doing here?" When I open the door, Hyunjin is waiting for me outside.
"I just want to walk with you." He said with a cold expression. Hyunjin is the famous cold hearted guy at our school. He doesn't have a lot of friends. Well, I can say that he is an outcast. I glanced at him and continue walking.
"Why is the weather so hot today?" I asked. I can really feel that my face is burning.
"It's about to rain, Jen." He stated. I looked at him and shyly smile.
"Y-yeah, I noticed. You know, weather really change easily." I faked a laugh. That was the lamest excuse I could muster in my whole life.
"Do you have feelings for me, Jen?" Hyunjin and I are at the cafe near our school. He said he wants to treat me breakfast for today and he is asking me such ridiculous question.
"What? No. Not at all." I denied. I know in myself that I have feelings for him but I will not admit it. Not now. Never.
"Really?" He asked for assurance.
"Really. Why?" I asked. He smile softly and looked at me straight into my eyes.
"Because I like you." He said. I startled. I accidentally spit the water in my mouth.
"I'm ugly, Hyunjin." I stated the fact. If people will now that we are dating. They'll surely look down on me. They'll wonder why a very handsome popular guy is dating an ugly girl.
"You don't need to be pretty. You just need to be yourself."
"I like you too, Hyunjin. But I can't put up with all the gossiping and bad mouthing." I sadly stated.
"I like you and you like me. That's the most important." He said. He smiled at me and held my hand.
