Chapter 1:
It's my turn to clean the bedrooms. I grab the duster from the cabinet and head to my room. As I dust my room I nock over my lamp. It shatters. "Shoot!", I say. I've always been clumsy. "You okay?", my brother says. He's way to protective. He won't even let me stay home while he goes to collect food. It's very close to our house so why do I always have to go with him? He's older though, so when it's just us at home I guess I need to follow his rules. I'm 14 and he is 3 years older than me. "Yes, everything's fine!" I yell back to him. My brothers name is Caleb.
Today my mother and father are working so my brother and I are alone. My father works at the bank across the road. They hardly ever have people to come though. My mother helps the faction less. She gives them food and helps them when there ill. There are 5 factions, Abnegation the selfless, that's my faction, Dauntless the brave, Amity the Peaceful, Candor the Honest, and Erudite the Intelligent. One day when I'm 16 I will take the aptitude test. It will tell me what faction I'm made for. Where I belong.
