And he just returned her gaze with his eyes full of love and his lips curved into a sweet smile as he touched her forehead with his.

He softly uttered. Yung tipong hindi pa rin siya makapaniwala. She saw the happiness not only with his smile as the lone dimple on his left cheek deepens, but more so with his eyes as it turned into slits with his words. She smiled back at him and she gently cupped his face as she echoed the words he said.

She said it with a hint of finality in her voice. Yung walang pag-aalinlangan. Yung siguradong sigurado. Because she wanted him to know that it is real. That she is real. Then she claimed his mouth in a sweet, passionate, slow motion kiss just to prove it. When Nicki pulled away to catch some air, RJ kissed her forehead then wrapped his arms around her in a warm embrace.

She pushed him a little to look at him, her hands now on his muscled chest. He looked back at her as he replied.

He chuckled as he peppered her again with kisses which ended in her lips. And once again, they were lost in each other's arms as their lips molded like they can't get enough of each other. RJ lifted her up and her legs automatically wrapped around his waist as they went on kissing. Masyadong mabilis ang mga pangyayari. Next thing they knew, RJ was already seated on the couch with Nicki straddling on top of him, both lost in the heat of the moment.
Nicki's phone started ringing yet they didn't seem to mind, as if they didn't hear a thing. They went on with their make out session with his hands now rubbing her thighs as she started gyrating her hips. When his kisses went down to her neck, she began to moan.
Ugghhh... Gaaahd... Jaaaay...
But her moaning stopped when she felt something hard already poking in between her legs. She stiffened and RJ felt it so he stopped. He looked at her and saw her already looking back at him with their faces flushed and both panting as they catch their breath.

That was the only time that her ringtone registered on their mind as it rings incessantly. It brought them back to their senses and she was startled when she found herself in a compromising position on top of him.

That made her realize that they lost track of everything. That she still has a practice to attend and that she left her best friend waiting back in their campus. She immediately jump off him and rummaged through her bag for her phone. She saw the incoming call from Sheena but she contemplated whether to answer it or not. Then she turned to RJ with a worried look on her face.
S-si Sheena...
She was feeling guilty that they got lost in the moment and she didn't know if it's a good idea to answer Sheena's call. She knew she will be scolded. RJ saw the fear in her eyes and he moved quickly to hold her hand.
Baby, relax. We're not
doing anything wrong.
Then he smiled and nodded at her reassuringly as if saying she's got nothing to be worried about. She found comfort in his touch. She composed herself before she answered the call.
Sheens...
"Jusko! Sumagot ka din! Bakit ang tagal? Akala ko kung ano na ang nangyari sayo. I was about to go to your unit na."
Huh? No! No na, pabalik na
ako dyan in a few minutes.

When the call ended, she placed her phone on the table and faced him. He quickly stood up and moved close to her.

He held her arms and caressed them up and down. She felt goosebumps on her skin and the living room was again filled with tension as they gazed upon each other. Then RJ leaned in to give her a chaste kiss. With Sheena's voice in her head, she tried all her might not to give in. She gently pulled away.

She hurriedly sprinted towards her room and happily prepared for training. It didn't take long because her things were already prepared the night before. She just freshened up then changed her clothes and soon, they were already getting in the car. As soon as they were settled inside, RJ put her seatbelt on, stealing a kiss on her. She was taken aback at first but then she found herself responding to his kisses again.
RJ, hindi lang ako

They were already riding his car back to her campus with comfortable silence as her hand intertwined with his free hand. Every now and then, he would raise her hand to his lips and kiss the back of it. And everytime he does it, her heart would flutter with his sweet gesture.

She thought as she stared at him
while his eyes were busy on the road.
The ride to her campus was smooth but she was already getting numerous calls and text messages from her teammates and her coach. She didn't want to answer any of it and thought she'll just explain when she gets there. But she did send a message to Sheena telling her they're on the way. She's beginning to be anxious because it's the first time ever in her career as a volleyball player that she'll be late for training. But then she would remember the reason for her tardiness and she would smile. Because what transpired within the last half hour or so meant so much to her and she wouldn't trade it for anything. Even if it costs her to run 15 minutes more around the gym, and do the drills and the stretching alone. She's didn't care. Because in her heart, her relationship with RJ was what mattered the most. But RJ saw the weariness in her actions as she kept on fidgeting in her seat and checking the time on her wrist watch. He held her hand a little tighter as he felt bad knowing that he was really the one to blame because he can't keep his hands and his lips off of her. When they arrived at her campus, she's already half an hour late.

He frowned as he caressed her knuckles trying to make her feel better despite not making it on time. But she noticed the sad look on his face and she reached out to touch his cheek.

He leaned on the car and waited for her to get inside the campus. He saw her glanced back at him when she entered then she smiled and nodded before she turned her back from him and made her way towards the gym. When she was completely out of his sight, that's the only time he hopped in the car and leave.

Almost two hours into their training and Nicki still seemed to be in high spirits. Though she was reprimanded earlier by Coach Patty for being late, she accepted the sanction without further questions. This did not go unnoticed by her best friend. This was the first time that Nicki was late for training yet she didn't seem to mind. In fact, she was smiling at everyone and she was able to play well inside the court.
They weren't able to talk when Nicki arrived because she went straight to their coach while they were already doing the drills. When Nicki began to jog around the gym, she was already busy practicing her tosses. They were only able to exchange a few banters when they were already playing inside the court.
"There's something different in you, besh. I just can't put a finger on it pero may iba eh. Mukhang okay ang pag-uusap niyo ni Mr. Sparks ah."
Nicki smiled meaningfully
and said,
Focus, besh!
Ayan na yung bola!
Dos ako papalo.
Then she winked.
"Ok, go! Sabi ko nga later na ang chika eh! Hahaha!"
Sheena didn't press on the matter at that moment because she focused on setting the play not just for Nicki but for all their spikers. But in her mind she knew Nicki was obviously trying to sway the topic and it irked her even more. But she didn't get another chance to chat with her within their training because Coach Patty was teaching them new plays for their upcoming tournament and the entire team was focused on practicing their new playing tactics.
It was only when they were already in the shower room that she thought she can finally corner her best friend. But Nicki was chatting with their other teammates and it looked like she was avoiding to have a conversation with her. She let it go at first, knowing that Nicki might not be comfortable to share it in front of their teammates. But when they were left alone as the rest of the team went ahead of them, Nicki still kept mum. She knew something's up and she wanted to find out.
"So magtatanong pa ba ako or magkukwento ka na lang?" Sheena asked as they were already heading out of the gym.
I'm sorry besh...
Nicki wanted so much to tell her but she didn't know where to start. Alam niya kasi na may atraso siya kay Sheena for keeping her waiting a while ago and for being late kaya nagsorry na muna siya.
"Bat ka nagsosorry? Wala man lang bang explanation na kasunod yan besh? Like anong nangyari? Bakit ka nalate? Nakapag-usap ba kayo? Para saan ba yung sorry mo?" She bombarded her with questions then she suddenly realized, "Oh my gosh! Did...did you... did you do it already?"
What?! No!
Sinabi ko na kanina diba?
Walang ganun...
"But? May kasunod na but yang statement mo eh..."
But we kissed. Again.
"Haaaah! knew it! Hindi mo talaga matitiis si RJ eh. So nagmomol nga kayo kaya ka nalate noh?"
She shyly nodded.
"Jusko! Dalaga na talaga ang bespren ko! Marunong na po siyang makipag-momol!!! Pero gaga ka, sinabi ko sayo wala munang momol momol hangga't di ka pa sure..."
Kami na.
"...dyan kay Mr. Sparks kasi—what?! Ano?! Ulitin mo nga?! Parang nabingi ako eh..."
Kami na. I said yes
to him already.
"Homayg! Sinasabi ko na nga ba! Yes! Yes! Hindi ka na NBSB beshie!!!! I'm so happy for you!"
Talaga? Hindi ka galit?
"Huy! Bat naman ako magagalit? Dati pa naman Team RJ na talaga ako diba?"
Baka kasi galit ka dahil
naiwan ka dito kanina.
Tsaka nalate ako.
"Jusko! Ako nga nagvolunteer para makapag-usap kayo diba? Sabi ko na nga ba, tama ang kutob ko! Malakas ang kapit ko kay universe na kayo talaga eh. Ayaw mo pang maniwala sa'kin ha?! Hihihi! Kinikilig ako besh! Tara na, dali! Dali! Magpadeliver na lang tayo. Dun na tayo sa condo mo! Chika mo sa'kin panong momol ginawa niyo."

"Well, kung from Boracay pa yang feelings niyo i would say na ang bagal ng pacing niyo. Eh wala ka naman inentertain na iba in between diba? And i think ganun din si Jay kasi he's busy looking for you. So invested na yung feelings even before. Tapos what? More than a month na din kayo lumalabas-labas diba? Medyo matagal na rin yun for me. So hindi, hindi ako nabibilisan."

"I know so. Tama lang yan, besh. Ayieee! Kinikilig talaga ako... may boyfriend ka na beshie!!!! Teka, nasan na ba yang boyfriend mo? Kelangan niya akong ilibre!"
Sira ka! Nagtext na,
gumagawa daw siya ng
research paper niya.
"Ayiieee! May reporting talaga! Syetness! Ibang levels ka na beshie! I'm so happy for you!"
Hihihi! I'm so happy too.
Just then their Uber ride arrived. It was a quick ride from their campus to her condo since it's already past nine in the evening. When they reached her lobby, she was greeted by Jessie at the reception desk.
"Miss Nicki, good evening po!"
Hey, Jess!
"Ah, Miss Nicki, there's something for you po pala. May delivery po kani-kanina lang."
For me? Kanino daw galing?
"Ay ma'am delivery guy lang yung naghatid eh. Eto po oh."
She smiled when she instantly saw the bouquet of beautiful yellow carnations but what surprised her even more was that Jessie was also carrying another bouquet in her other hand. It was simpler than the yellow carnations but just the same, it was still a bouquet of flowers.
"Ay shala! Bakit ang daming pahavs?! Kay Papi RJ ba lahat galing yan?!" Sheena commented.
Huh? I really dunno, Sheens...
Then she turned to Jessie.
Lahat ba talaga toh sa akin?
"Yes po, for Miss Nicki Mendoza daw eh."
Ah ganun ba? Ah, sige, thanks.
She reached for the yellow carnations. She closed her eyes and breathe in the fragrant smell of fresh flowers. She smiled. She knew in her heart that it came from her sweet loving boyfriend whose fond of giving her surprises.
But what puzzled her was the other bouquet she received. She thought that if the bouquet of yellow carnations came from RJ, then the other one could possibly be from Joaquin. But she just received flowers earlier from him so it really confused her.
But why?
He already gave me flowers kanina.
Gahd! I have to tell him about RJ
to avoid any complications.
Baka pag-awayan pa namin
ni RJ in the future.
She was so lost in her own thoughts so Sheena took the liberty to get the other bouquet and thanked the receptionist.
"Ah, thanks ha? Overwhelmed pa kasi toh sa dami ng admirers kaya hindi na nakareact. Hehe! Sige, we'll go up na. Babye!"
The she dragged her best friend towards the elevators. When they stepped in, Sheena nudged her shoulder and that brought her back to reality.
Ha?
"Huy Nics, what happened to you? Ano? Tulaley lang?"
Ha?
"Jusko! Napano ka? Ano bang iniisip mo?"
Ah, wala, wala.
Iniisip ko lang kung kanino
galing yang isang bouquet.

Sheena immediately scanned the bouquet in her hand but didn't find anything there.
"Ah, beshie wala eh. Sino bang hula mo?"
Hays. Hayaan mo na.
Baka kasi si Joaquin na
naman yan eh. Kaso nagbigay
na siya kanina diba?
"Ano ka ba? Be thankful na lang na may nagbibigay sayo ng flowers. Baka naman secret admirer lang yan."
Yun nga. Alam mo naman
na sinagot ko na si RJ.
For sure hindi yun matutuwa
when he knew he's not the
only one giving me flowers.
Yung kay Joaquin nga kanina
diba naguilty pa ako na
bitbit ko sa condo.
"Yaan mo na. Maiintindihan naman siguro niya yan. Flowers lang naman. Siya naman ang nanalo. Sa kanya ka umoo. Kaya wag ka na magworry dyan. Siya lang naman ang nakakahawak ng kamay mo tsaka nakakamomol mo. Oh diba?! Hihihi!"

They were laughing their hearts out when the elevator dinged on her floor. But their laughter immediately died down when the elevator doors opened and they found somebody standing right in front of them. They were both wide-eyed in shock.
"Good evening ladies!"
