"For God's sake, could you please act like you want this?" I say exasperatedly, slamming my hands on the wooden desk as I scratch my head in frustration.
Minho glares at me, "It's not my fault that I suck at Maths. It's yours."
I look at him, bewildered. "Me? It's my fault?" I laugh bitterly. "How could it be my fault? You're the one who's never serious!"
His glare hardened even more and I swear, if I were a guy, he would've punched me like there's no tomorrow.
"I need a damned break! Math is killing my brain cells!" he almost roared.
I rolled my eyes. "As if you have a brain, dumbass." I took my Maths textbook and turned the other way, reading the next three lessons in advance.
My weekday afternoons became like this—always spent with the person I hate the most; Lee Minho.
He's always very cocky, and acts like he owns the whole place. Although he's very handsome and has killer moves in dancing, that doesn't change the fact that I hated him ever since he had bumped into me and made me drop my project that I had spent three weeks of sleepless nights working my ass out on it.
Whenever people would pass by and see us, they would always say that we always get on each others' nerves. That is very true. Just seeing his handsome face can ruin my perfect day.
Although I hate him, he managed to make a special spot in my heart, and even though I act like I don't care about him, I started to take notice about the little things he do, from every little routine he does before he practices his dance, to his weird habits.
To put it simply, I've developed a crush on him.
If you are confused as to why would I tutor Minho, it all started when our Maths teacher, Mr. Yang, asked me (more like forced me) to tutor him after class, in the said subject. Of course, I immediately rejected the offer, but then I quickly accepted when he threatened that he would lower my grades, and I wouldn't want that.
The problem is, Minho and I didn't get along. The two of us would always bicker and fight over the simplest and littlest of things. In other words, we would always feel mutual feelings of anger towards each other.
"But hey, I may not be an ace in Maths but I do know the answer to this problem." he says, now in a gentler approach, and I reluctantly turn around, and I see him writing something on a piece of paper.
I look over his shoulder and I gasp silently, he was writing a very hard math problem.
(A/N: picture above for the reference)
He then pushed the paper in my hands and smirked, "If you know the answer to that question I'll push away all my feelings of hatred toward you and offer a friendship betweent the two of us. And a bonus, I'll teach you a hip-hop dance. Sound good?" he said.
I scoffed. "Whatever."
I looked at the paper and grab a pen, tapping the end on the wooden table. Minho runs a hand through his brown hair and I sigh.
"This one's answer is undefined, idiot. It has an error." I say, pointing at the e.
"No," he shakes his head, "that one has an answer."
"Then show me."
I push the paper and pen back in his hands but he shakes his head and puts the items on the table beside our textbooks. He smirks at me and I literally had to restrain myself from punching that smug look off his pretty face.
"No, I want to see you solve it. Prove to me that you're a genius and I'll let you bully me for the next two weeks, tops," he said, "deal?"
I sigh. "Deal."
I took the paper back and solved the damned problem with all my might.
After a few seconds, I shoved the paper back in his hands and held my hands up in victory, a smirk plastered on my face.
"Ha! Take that, dumbass. The math problem was solved by yours truly, easy peasy." I say, blowing him a kiss.
Minho took the paper and examined it, and I didn't miss the way his eye twitched when he looked over my solution.
After a few minutes he placed the paper down and smirked at me, grabbing the pen I had just used to solve the problem.
"Your answer is correct—"
I smirked.
"—but there is a much easier way." he finished, grinning smugly. I rolled my eyes.
"If you're so smart, tell me how to find the answer." I quipped.
Minho's grin was replaced with a gentle smile, almost genuine. I looked down at the paper, trying to divert my attention from him and to the paper.
He picked up another pen and stood up, sitting on the seat next to me as he shifts his body closer to mine. I awkwardly inch away from him, embarrassed at our close proximity.
"To analyze the problem, do this." he sticks the two pens side by side and places them down on the top half of the numbers. I read it and my brain started to process shit again, and I blushed when I realized what was written.
"W-What do you mean by this?" I stuttered, blushing profusely.
"You'll see." Minho smiled knowingly.
"After that, you must answer this." he takes out a small, leather notebook and flips over the pages, stopping at a certain page and showing it to me.
Will you be my girlfriend?
Those were the words written down on the paper. I blushed even more, and I peeked at his face, only to see that a light pink tint is dusting his own cheeks.
I gripped the hem of my skirt, unable to answer. I look at him, and he shyly meets my gaze.
"This is a joke...right?" I laughed awkwardly, "I swear, if this is a joke, Lee Minho, I will dismember you in your sleep." I tried to laugh to lift up the atmosphere, but Minho keeps a straight face as he holds the notebook.
"If you think this is a joke, then sadly, you're mistaken. I don't kid around often, (Y/N)-ah. And I actually expected you to take this very seriously." he stated.
"So, is it a yes or no? Because if you answer yes, then I'd be very happy and I'll do everything in my power to keep you mine but if you say no then it's cool, we can still be friends, well, if we are friends but—"
Feeling all the shyness in my body system go away, I decided to take a bold move and grip the collar of his uniform and pull him to me, planting my lips on his gently.
It must've took Minho aback since he was stationary at first but then he kissed me back, holding my waist as he smiles into the kiss. We both pulled away after a while.
"Is it a yes, then?" he smiles.
"What do you think?"
"Yes." he pulled me to him and smashed his lips on mine, this time, making sure the kiss would last longer.
