Many have told me
Knitting
Is yoga for the brain
I've never tried it before
Until now
My hands shake
That's an uncertainty
But I want to learn
Because all I do is
Study, stare at the computer
I need a reprieve
When I can't read
Or do much else
Need to keep
My hands busy
My mind free
Starting with simple loops
My optimal is to make a scarf
If I can do that
Then I can maybe make something
More interesting
But I want to
Knit a scarf
I got my mom remembering
When she used to make that too
What people who teach must understand
Is that everyone learns
At their own speed
And though I can pick things
Up
I move at my own time
So...
I shall be knitting a scarf
