trying her best
to remain content,
but the swarming thoughts
are hard to control;
washed away pain isn't completely gone,
it's only a temporary pause button;
the shore leaves behind
trinkets and vines
that are unwanted memories
of all the ruckus;
there's a reason the saying goes
real eyes realize real lies;
instead of blinded eyes open
to see their demise
yet, your eyes were closed through the hurt,
painfully tight; and if you shall open them,
you'll witness your fear at all its might
