The girl eventually told her parents about the boy. The parents were ecstatic, and wanted to meet him.
That night, the girl tried calling the boy to tell him about the parents.
The boy didn't pick up.
The girl frowned. She tried again. Three times. He still didn't pick up.
She left a message: Hi, it's me. So, uhm, you aren't picking up your phone. I'm kind of worried... could you call me when you get this? Thanks.
She sent it.
She placed her phone on her bedside table
and fell asleep gazing at it, waiting for the buzz of reply.
