I like to think I don't care.
But that just isn't true.
Today has made me aware.
This is a new shade of blue.

A little bit of feeling left out,
And disappointment too.
It's something I don't really think about.
A mental plain I don't go to.

It felt like I had been hit in the gut,
With a speedy cannonball.
It came out of nowhere,
And now I'm struggling to catch my breath.

This is totally just me.
There's no way this is on anyone but me.
That doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.
Of course, it does, why wouldn't it?

But there's just one thing I don't understand.
The difference between an upper-classmen and lower-class men.
This is getting out of hand.
I think I'll have to ask.

I won't ask her,
It may sound stupid but no,
Things are already awkward,
But again, that's just me.

What a strange,
Frustrating,
Godawful,
Shade of blue.
