"Huh? Bubble gum?" One For All Said in complete confusion while restrained to his chair
-Reader POV in a hospital with Kodai next to your bed-
"Come on F/N please wake up..." Kodai wasn't crying. At least not anymore. She hadn't left your side since you arrived at the hospital. She looked up at the TV overlooking your bed where the news stations were talking.
"The pro hero Ragdoll and UA student L/N F/N or Bubble Wrap both survived their encounter with the monster villain." The news reporter was stating "However, it would seem both were left in a crippled state after the villain used his quirk on them. Recovery Girl is currently entering the hospital as we speak for her second treatment of the two. It would also appear that the multi million dollar couple (Mothers name =M/N) and Fathers name =f/N) have just landed in Japan and are heading to the hospital."
Kodai looked at your glazed over eyes and entwined her hand with yours. "I just... I don't want to lose you..." Kodai trailed off as she moved her head to yours. She gently kissed your forehead and stayed like that for a moment.
Then her hand was slightly squeezed.
"K....ko..." you softly mumbled
"Huh?!" Kodai bounced back and looked at your face.
Then your eyes slowly blinked
"OH MY GOD!" Kodai went sprinting out of the room to get recovery girl
Seconds past as you lay there your eyes still glazed over but Kodai came running back with Recovery Girl going as fast as her elderly body could behind her.
"He... he tried to say my name and blinked!" Kodai looked back at recovery girl who looked doubtful.
"I'm sorry dear but I really don't think that's possible yet. I've worked on this Villains victims before and it takes more time." Recovery Girl was explaining as she stepped up onto a stool so she could see you properly. "They always end up.." Recovery Girl stopped talking when you blinked again
"OH MY GOD!" The little old lady exclaimed as she then called the UA faculty that we're prepping a meeting room and other doctors and told Kodai to leave.
Other doctors and surgeons came rushing into the room as Kodai was pushed out and the door closed behind her.
"He... he might be ok.." she mumbled to herself as she heard a bubble pop next to her.
"Huh?" She said looking over to the noise to see two adults that resembled her boyfriend. The woman had just blown a piece of Bubble gum and it had popped making the noise.
The man and woman then started talking in English. Kodai understood some of it but they were talking fluently and fast making it hard for her. Then the woman pulled out a little device which turned out to be a translator and talked through it.
"Are you our sons girlfriend?" The woman said plainly through the robotic sounding device
Kodais face went red but she nodded her head yes
"Your quite beautiful. How is our son doing?" Your mother complimented and asked now putting the device in front of Kodai so she could talk.
"T..thank you. And he is doing better than Ragdoll. He squeezed my hand and blinked a couple times. No other victim has done that." Kodai explained.
There was a flash of relief in both of the parents eyes that quickly went back to their professional unwavering gaze.
just as the conversation was about to continue recovery girl stepped out of the room with the other doctors and saw what was probably your parents.
"Ah are you Mr and Mrs L/N?" Recovery Girl asked in English
"Yes we are. How is he?" Your father said.
"He's a little slow and confused. He's having a hard time remembering what happened, but unlike all the other cases I've seen he is responsive." Recovery Girl said grinning opening the door
Your parents followed by Kodai entered the room. You still looked at the ceiling with tired eyes.
"F/N?" You mother said in English
"M..mom?" You said not looking to the side. In reality you couldn't right now. Your body was heavy and you could barely even talk.
"Yea it's us." Your father said next to her as they walked up to your bed
"Well Your obviously not in any condition to talk right now so.." your mother was saying about to turn around but you stopped her by mumbling
"D..don..t l..eave me.." you said as a tear fell down your face

Then your mother uncharacteristically grabbed your hand.
"Ok F/N. Well stay..." she trailed off as you out of nowhere fell asleep.
Recovery Girl watched what happened and spoke up.
"Mr. and Mrs. L/N if you could come with me we have some theories of what happened to your son. And the faculty of UA would like to have a meeting with you. Kodai could you stay with F/N and make sure he's not alone?"
"Yes mam." Kodai said quickly taking her seat at your side again.
-Third Person POV as Aizawa, deflated All Might, Principle Nezu, Recovery Girl, and your parents sit in a meeting room inside the hospital-
Principle Nezu started the meeting
"Mr. and Mrs. L/N we first wanted to apologize that this happened to your son. We as a school are ashamed of our inability to protect your son."
Your Mom then spoke up. "You were probably expecting us to be outraged no?"
"It would only be natural." Aizawa answered
"In reality we aren't." Your father started "F/N knew the risks of becoming a hero and at your institution he would always tell us how happy he was here in Japan."
Your mom continued where your father stopped. "We aren't that close with our son. We do love him but we felt like autonomy and freedom to make his own choices would lead to him being successful. That's what both of our parents did for us." Your parents explained as the faculty listened intently
"In truth we were proud of our son for everything he's accomplished here in Japan." Your father said."We watched reruns of his performance in the sports festival and when he took down the Hero Killer we were so proud. He's pushed his quirk farther than either of us could have dreamed."
"But." Your mother started "his quirk is... or we suspect -was-, due to the research we conducted on the situation, everything to him. UA has other courses he could take no? If he could get into a wheel chair or be able to communicate better maybe he could be a business student?"
"Well." Recovery Girl stepped in "we aren't convinced your son lost his entire quirk."
"What do you mean?" Your father said
"Your sons quirk is an extreme oddity." Recovery Girl started "You Mr. L/N have the very rare hard light quirk right?"
"Yes I do." Your father said creating a small cube of light and morphing it into a small pyramid before it quickly cracked and dissipated in his hand. "My father, grandfather, and great grandfather had it as well. All of them married quirkless girls so the genetics for it survived. I know it's extremely recessive."
"It is." Recovery Girl Said again. "The Hard Light quirk rarely out competes other genetics thus most people's phenotypes are whatever the other partners quirk is which in this case Mrs. L/N is your bubble gum quirk." Recovery Girl Said looking to your mother
*pop* your mother blew another bubble from a piece of gum she made demonstrating that was indeed her quirk.
"Your sons quirk is rare because if you look at the statistics your sons quirk most likely should have been your bubble gum quirk Mrs. L/N. The second most likely outcome would have been he got the hard light quirk from Mr. L/N. But the least likely happened and he got a mix of the two. F/N can manipulate light like his father but only into bubbles like his mother." Recovery girl explained
"We know this but what does it have to do with anything?" Your mother asked curious
"Because the fact that F/N is moving so soon after that villain used his quirk on him means he might still have a quirk." Recovery Girl Said now smiling
"He can still be a hero?" Your father asked wanting you to pursue whatever path you wanted
"That depends on what quirk he still has and how it was affected by being torn in half." All Might finally said something. "Your bubble gum quirk is fascinating Mrs. L/N but..." All Might trailed off
"I know. It's why I devoted my life to business instead of heroics." Your mother said not offended. She was a millionaire so she doesn't give a fuck.
"I've faced that villain before and I've seen what that quirk stealing power can do." All Might continued "It can warp and change someone's quirk. Also F/N might be injured in ways we can't heal him due to his quirk being torn in half. You see this is a first. This is such a niche situation that we are a little clueless as well." All Might finished
"Why didn't the villain just take both quirks?" Your father asked perplexed by the situation.
"Well" Aizawa started "we think the villain was in the middle of taking both when the Hero's broke into the building. Mount Lady brought the wall down and interrupted the quirk stealing process. Or at least that's what we are speculating." Aizawa answered.
"Well there is another issue." Your father started. "If he does have my quirk I was never able to master it. The Hard Light quirk is extremely difficult to handle. I was never able to help F/N understand it. His mothers Bubble gum quirk gave F/Ns quirk simplicity and made it usable."
"I'm sorry to sound smug Mr. L/N." The principle started grinning and saying "but if you keep your son enrolled at UA you don't need to worry about the difficulties of mastering his quirk."
-back to the readers hospital room-
After a couple of minutes you had woken up again. And Kodai was holding your hand watching the TV
She's... so... "beaut..iful..." you slowly mumbled the last part making her turn her head to you again. Her Blue eyes flashed with worry as her cheeks turned pink from your words.
"F/N are you ok? Can I get you something?" Kodai said
"I'm... ok... I dreamed... my parents were here..." you said quietly
"They are." Kodai said "their having a meeting with the faculty."
"It's... not the schools... fault." You said your glazed over eyes giving the slightest bit of worry for how that meeting was going
"I'm sure they know that." Kodai said "they seem like reasonable people." She noticed though at the end of her sentence you squeezed her hand a bit but didn't say anything.
"Are y..ou ok? Did... you get... hurt?" You asked not knowing if Kodai was affected by the gas at all.
"No I'm fine." Kodai responded "Yaoyorozu got gas masks to a lot of the Class B students before it got really bad."
You were about to say how happy you were when Kirishima popped his head through the Hospital room door.
"Hey Kodai hows he..." Kirishima stopped seeing as Kodai was desperately trying to hold back tears while smiling. You were clueless that she was on the verge of crying because your vision was blurry
"Shit... hair..." you mumbled grinning ever so slightly
"L/N!!!!!!!!" Kirishima yelled as the door flung open revealing all of Class 1A who filed into the room. Kirishima ran to your other side and was about to hug you when Kodai pushed him on the chest stopping him
"Careful he's really fragile!" Kodai scolded while Kirishima just looked at you
"Holy crap man! You look like a million dollars!" Kirishima blatantly lied
"Your... lies... are as... shitty.. as your... hair...." you said your eyes growing heavy
Then Bakugou let out a "pfft" and the class snickered while Kirishima joined them. But everyone fell silent as they noticed you fall asleep again.
"Why does he keep passing out?..." Kodai trailed off as the rest of the class looked on in worry.
