Let's get to 1000 reads! I won't write again until I do!
Haha, I probably will but it might be a while for the next part. I have no idea what will end up out of this part. Just letting the words flow I guess. :)
Btw don't take the kicking dog part to heart :( I love animals!

I Like Waffles
Leila POV
I glared at him with hate. He was one of them. "We have nothing to talk about, Jay." I drer my flimsy jacket tighter around my body and continued on my way. I needed to wash the blood off of it or get a new one. The stupid vampire infuriated me because I could never kill him despite how quick and strong I was. Jay was unlike any vampire I had met and killed in many more ways then one. If I had the chance to end his undead life, I would take it in a heartbeat. I had given up that hope long ago, though, and set my sights for other vermin.
"Well, let's make something to talk about," his constant cheerful voice sounded from behind me. Remember when I said I hated overly positive people. That rule still stood. I heard quiet footsteps as he followed me as usual. The vampire was an unwanted dog. No matter how many times you kicked him he was always there to show up at your doorstep as soon as you opened. I was never able to get rid of him for more than a few days and it was incredibly hard just to do that.
"Shut your mouth, Jay. I want some peace." I walked faster, not caring where I went as long as I got away from him. He easily kept pace with me. A few moments later he picked up his pace to walk beside me. Jay slung his arm around my shoulders as if we were a pitiful couple in love. A couple with an abusive relationship. In an instant Mortis flashed out where Jay was standing. Correction: Had been standing. As usual, I missed my mark.
Jay then appeared on the other side of me. "Want to try again? I'll move slower," he whispered cockily into my ear. I felt such loathing towards him and I wanted to scrub myself clean where he had touched me. I didn't try to attack him again. I wasn't going to hit him.
I peeled my lips back. "Fuck off, Jay," I growled at him. Then I just tried to ignore him as best I could while thinking of a plan to get rid of him.
"Only if you join me, baby," the vampire had the courage to say. I fought to control myself from going for his throat and wasting energy. Tremors of rage shook through me. I bit my lip until I felt I had calmed down alone, careful not to break skin with a vampire standing right next to me.
"Go bother someone else and suck the life out of them," I hissed. The wind picked up, but I didn't feel the cold. Was the wind colder or warmer than me? I could walk out here in booty shorts and a tank top and I wouldn't feel a thing. I couldn't do that of course since that would attract some unwanted attention. My breaths came out of puffs of air as I walked further. What is my body temperature?
"Leila," his voice sounded disapproving. Maybe I struck a nerve. Good. "You know I don't kill when I feed. And it's not like I can control it. You have to eat food like I have to drink blood."
"Yes you can. You can keel over and die. It would make everything so much simpler on my part, you know," I stated ruthlessly. I was getting weary from lack of sleep. When was the last time I had slept? Two or three days ago. I needed to settle down, but I couldn't while Jay was so close.
"Ouch, that hurt. Can't you be nice to me once in a while?" he pouted. How the hell can I get rid of him!
"When you give me a good damn reason why I should." My legs were getting harder to move, but I forced them to continue. There was no way I would be unprotected with a vampire nearby.
"Have I done anything mean to you before?" Jay pointed out. He had a point. Unlike every vampire who I've hunted or hunted me, never once had Jay shown any aggression towards me. in fact, he actually helped me out at times when I was seriously in danger. When I had fought three vampires at once, I was seriously wounded by the first and couldn't take the last two on. Jay swooped in and carried me off (no pun intended) after finishing off the first two vampires. Jay was only...nice to me. Instead of warming up, though, it only added fuel to my fire of hate for everything that could on two legs. This still wasn't a good reason for me. Nice was a feeling I had abandoned long ago.
"You came into my shit of a life." My legs were putting up more resistance and it was getting harder to move. Now my sleep-deprived eyes were beginning to close. I was getting worried about finding safety before I fell asleep. Then, Jay's obviously expensive phone rang. Skillet's "Monster" came on. I looked at him hard. How ironic.
Jay looked at the phone nonchalantly. I guess the call was important because he said, "One moment, babe. I've gotta take this." I rolled my eyes at him. "Yeah, what do you need?" he started talking. Jay stopped walking and I did to. Maybe I could stab him while he was momentarily distracted by the call. As soon as I started sliding my hand into my pocket for Angelus, he piped up, "Don't even think about it." I sighed with frustration then continued on my way. I couldn't care less about the shit he said on the phone. It had no importance to me.
I ignored his voice as I walked further away from him. He still stood where he had stopped. I was too tired to run away. The call didn't last long and he was back at my side in a moment with his arrogant voice. "Sorry, sugar, but I've got to go. I'll see you tomorrow, of course." He smirked. I bit my lip again, but at least he would be out of my hair. "Do I get a kiss goodnight?" He puckered his lips.
I rose my fist with Mortis attached to stab him again. Jay disappeared before I moved. "Guess not," his voice chuckled, blown by the wind. Snow continued to fall all around me. I hated the snow. I truly did.
I walked into the closest alley and settled in the back in the shadows. I was safe unless a vampire somehow pinpointed me out. Their vision was good, but it was too dark to see very much. And I didn't have to worry about them scenting me, since I didn't have a scent for some odd reason. The clothes I wore could have a scent, but it was as if I wasn't wearing them. It was as much as a puzzle to you as me. I was grateful the first vampire I clumsily slew informed. It really helped with sneaking up on other vermin.
I let my eyes close for the night.
I woke up to the morning light threatening to burn my eyelids off if I didn't open them at once. I still was not a morning person. I stood up stretching and looked around. It was a little after seven. I had slept five hours which was all I needed for another two days. I noticed a body slumped against a wall. Looks like someone else had chosen to crash here for the night, too. The human could have seen me and I wasn't taking any chances. Frowning, I walked over to him. I looked at his dirty jeans and stained T-shirt. Then, I looked at my dirtier jeans, and blood-stained T-shirt. Quickly, I stripped down and then threw off my own clothes. Quickly, I pulled his on, leaving him in just his boxers. With a small smile of satisfaction, I slit his throat carefully to make sure I didn't get any blood on my new clothes. As usual memories that I had no concern over assaulted me. The man murmured a bit as he bled to death. At least he died in his sleep. I left the jacket with him, too. It was still stained with blood and I was too lazy to get that cleaned. I slipped Angelus and Mortis into my pockets quickly. I needed throwing knives. All the ones I had started out with were either still buried in their victims, too dull to use, or I broke them. It was hard to find the materials to make them, though.
I walked out of the alley refreshed but still cranky, which put me in an even worse mood than usual. In an hour or two, I would be at my normal I'm-gonna-kill-everyone mood. I grimaced as my stomach growled at me. Where to get food this time...
I had no money so I couldn't buy it and there was no way in hell I would ever beg. God would die by a bullet before that happened. I walked absentmindedly while thinking of what I should eat this morning. My thoughts had been so directed on my stomach that I did not realize as I bumped into someone. Like a reflex, I had my hand wrapped around their throat as I dragged them into a dark alley and slammed them into the brick at my side. Releasing my grip for about a second, I buried Mortis into their head. Well, where the person's head was supposed to be. Or vampire's.
It was Jay. Again. And I had missed him. Again. I wanted to scream so badly.
"Almost got me that time! Maybe I'm getting old," Jay grinned a hairsbreadth below Mortis. I pried Mortis out of the brick. I checked over it's condition and glared at Jay when I was satisfied.
"Go away," I simply said. I turned away and continued thinking about food. I'm not fat just hungry. Jay's familiar footsteps followed me. "Some vampires just don't learn," I muttered.
"Some humans just don't learn," he retorted. I spun around to yell at him. "And what is that supposed to mean, Jay!" "It means, Leila, that I'm not gonna leave you no matter how many times you try to kill me." He gave me an innocent smile that made me want to smooth out the pavement with.
"Leave me the hell alone, Jay!" My outburst attracted rude glances from people around, especially those with kids. I was considering to use them as an outlet for my anger, forgetting my soft spot for a moment, when my stomach started to get even more angry at me for not feeding it. It was annoying since I couldn't punch it quiet.
"Somebody's hungry." Thank you, Captain Obvious. Jay wrapped an arm around my body and pressed against me. We looked like the abusive couple all over again. Well, actually it looked like I was his slave that he gave crappy clothes to and he was my owner with all the nice clothes. I had to admit, the vampire had a pretty good fashion sense. "Let's get you something to eat, poor thing." Jay held me to himself with force, so I couldn't pull away. His body trapped one of my arms, while his arm that wrapped around me trapped the other. I was no vampire so I couldn't force my way out.
Jay steered me to a random cafe across the street, still holding onto me tightly. "Let go of me," I ordered in a low voice. It was full of venom and anger. He gently pushed the doors open and we walked in as one.
"You're hungry, though. I have to make sure my favorite girl doesn't die of malnutrition." This was getting on my last nerve. No, it was past that and I was completely raging. I gave Jay a look that would make most men piss themselves on the spot. He looked down on me. "That really does not look good on your face." With his free hand, he used two fingers to turn my frown upside down. Making me look like a fucking clown. "Not perfect but better."
I tried to bite his hand which he did not allow. He moved his fingers away before my teeth could close on them. "Easy girl." He talked to me like a rabid dog! I swear I would put him in the ground one day.
Jay sat us at a table, still managing to keep his hold on me. I was mad enough to kill him in front of everyone in the cafe. I'd have to kill them, too, but eh. They were all guilty of something. A busty waitress hesitantly came over to take our order. My expression probably scared the crap out of her, but no doubt she was hoping to hook up with Jay. He wasn't half-bad looking with his deep blue eyes and silky brown hair. I don't know how, but it shined in the light naturally. I had...known him long enough that that color meant he was happy. And he was usually happy so his color was usually blue. That vampire could take the humor out of every situation and he was definitely enjoying this one.
"Can I get you something?" she asked nervously. The question was more directed towards Jay than me.
"Yes, my girlfriend," he emphasized the word, "would like half a dozen waffles." The waitresses eyes looked at my figure, but quickly looked away. My rage managed to kick up a notch and I started clawing at the seat, tearing the leather to shreds. The woman was too focused on Jay to notice, though. He gave her a charming smile when he saw how disconcerted she was that I was supposedly his girlfriend.
"Oh, yes. Anything else?" she asked hopefully. I was going to kill this woman as soon as Jay let me go. I could see the lust in her eyes as she looked at Jay. I wasn't jealous or anything but I believe lust is a sin in the bible, right? I hated Jay and I wouldn't give a damn if Jay and the waiter screwed each other to hell and back, but I needed an outlet for my anger and she was my target. I wasn't going to get anything out of Jay since I couldn't kill him, but humans were all too easy. I doubted just her would even satisfy me.
"Nothing, thank you." With that the woman reluctantly left. She still had the nerve to put a sway in her hips as she walked away. Jay shook his head, quivering with silent laughter.
Jaydidn't speak until I food got here. It was delivered by the same woman and she sat the food in front of Jay even though he had ordered it for me. For God's sake, give up girl. I was a little put out and I gave her a very dirty look. Jay nodded towards me and she pushed the tray towards me. Her eyes met mine for a second. Hers widened with fear and she scurried away. I wanted so badly to go after her, but Jay held me fast.
"Eat," he ordered. Jay looked at me hard. I snarled at him. "Don't be difficult." He used his free hand to waft the food towards me.x My mouth watered. It had been days since I had last eaten. I couldn't resist, but there was still a problem.
"Maybe I would if you let go of my arms," I pointed out. Jay gave me an oops-smile and let one of my arms go. I grabbed a fork and started wolfing down the waffles as fast as I could. I could eat a lot if I was hungry enough.
While I was shoving the third waffle down my throat, Jay spoke up. "So we have known each other a while..." I ignored him and focused on my waffles. "And I've kind of done some research up on you..." That was creepy. He sounded so uncertain. I still ignored his unusual tone. "And I was wondering..." It sure sounded a little like he was about to ask me out. I almost choked at the thought. His next sentence just about made me.
"I want to help you find out who you are."
My mouth stopped working and fell open in shock as his words.
Familiar much?
