Cyryns P.O.V.
Sawyer eased the truck to a stop at...his house?
You best believe I was confused as ever. I looked at him and he chuckled
"You didn't think I was taking you into the city for a date did you? Come on Cy, the best dates are the unique ones that no one else can copy." He smiled and got out of the truck. I followed his actions
He grabbed my hand and pulled my to the barn
"First you're gonna need to change those" he pointed at my feet to my black converse. "Luckily I bought theses for ya" he pulled out some new cowgirl boots.
"THESE ARE FOR ME!?!" I asked as I pulled them from the box. He nodded
I sat down and put them on
They definitely need to be broken in but I love them
"THANK YOU!!" I squeal and hug him
He returns the hug
"That's not all" he smiles and places something on my head
I quickly grab what it is and scan it
It's a white cowgirl hat. I quickly hug him again, what's all this for...
"Now...time to meet someone that I think you'll like. A lot." He smiles and pulls me along with him
He puts his hands over my eyes and guides me to the location
He removes his hands to reveal a beautiful tan horse.
"It's...beautiful" I say and slowly walk up to it
"She's yours. And I know you're afraid of horses and all but I trained her myself. She's the most gentle horse I know other than my moms horse, which is pretty old. But if you want, I'll help you get over your fear" he said and walked beside of me
"I want to try" I said and looked at Sawyer. He smiled.
"So ready to start our date?" He smirked
"I thought it already started?"
"Nope. Not yet" he disappeared into a room
I went to follow but he came out with a saddle
He placed on the horses back
"What's her name?" I asked as he fastened he girth of the saddle
"She doesn't have one"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, I've had her for a long while now. I was gonna ask but it would've messed up the surprise. But now you two have met so, what do you wanna name your horse?"
"I can't own a horse Sawyer"
"Why not?"
"Wha-...where am I gonna keep her? What am I gonna feed her? I'm not always gonna be able to ride her"
"Well you'll own her but she'll live here. And I'll feed her and exercise her"
"I don't know..."
"Cyryn. Trust me" he said placing his hands on my shoulders. All I could do is nod. He smiled and grabbed some kind of rope thing
"Meadow"
Sawyer looked at me
"What?" He asked
"Meadow. That's her new name" I smiled as he smiled at me
"That's a beautiful name"
He put a metal thing in meadows mouth and she tossed her head a bit
I quickly jumped to her rescue "Sawyer stop you're hurting her"
He pulled the metal object away from her head
"Don't worry, she does this all the time. It's just a bit. It's gonna help you control her when you ride" he reassured "how about you put it on her?"
"Nononono. I can't"
"Yes you can" he guided the bit to her mouth and I helped place it on her. She didn't toss at all
He went and grabbed his horse from its stall and came back.
"This is Dixon" he smiled as the horse nudged his arm. "So they are actually siblings. Meadow is three, Dixon is five. They had the same dad, different moms"
"That's really cool" I smiled and hugged my new companion
Sawyer saddled Dixon up and we walked out of the barn
He helped me get on meadow, who might I say is an angel.
"So let's go to our date site" Sawyer said and climbed on Dixon.
We walked through the country side by side, just having a nice calm conversation with jokes here and there.
Riding isn't as scary as I thought
Soon we stopped
There was a picnic basket and and blanket. There were some unlit candles and more blankets.
"Right on time" he said pointing at the sunset.
We dismounted and sat on the blankets and began eating.
Soon the sun went down and he lit the candles as we continued our conversation
"So you've never had a boyfriend?" He said laughing a little
By now we were talking about past love interests
"Nope. Not a loyal one at least"
It turns out he dated a girl for three months only to find out she dated him for the stuff he gave her and the free horse rides.
"That's crazy." He laughed
"Well there are few people out there that actually treat you humanly when dating"
"I'll agree to that. Too many people wanna take advantage of you these days" Sawyer drinks a little bit of tea. He looks at his watch, "I think we should be gettin back now"
"Yeah I agree" we clean up and get back on the horses
"Ya know, you ride like a natural. Maybe a few lessons and you and meadow can barrel race" Sawyer says
"Ehh I don't know about that"
"Come on. She's a quarter horse, you're a natural born rider. You two are a perfect duo"
"I'll think about it"
"YESS"
I laugh at his child like behavior. "I said I'll think"
"Well I think meadow and I can get you to say yes"
"I didn't say no"
"I know"
Soon we reached the barn and untacked the horses. We put them in their stalls and he drove me home.
He walked me to my door. "Um...Cyryn?"
"Yeah?"
"I...I just wanna say tonight was really fun and I feel like I can be myself around you. I feel like I've known you forever and I like that feeling. And I can tell you aren't like any other girl I've ever met. The point is, would you like to be my girlfriend?"
"Yes Sawyer!" I hugged him
He smiled and hugged me back. "You have no idea how scared I was of doing that"
"Well that's okay because if you aren't scared then you aren't human"
"That is true. Well goodnight Cyryn. I'll see ya soon"
He kissed me on the cheek before turning around and walking back to his truck
"Goodnight Sawyer" I went inside and ran to my room
I quickly started telling Corbyn all about the date.
It certainly was a unique one
I'm definitely not going to forget that date
