Some of your comments were so sweet they brought a smile on my face and given the week i had last, i really needed it, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. okay here you go

CHAPTER SIXTY

Two weeksLater

The nightmares had not reduced one bit and if anything they just got worse. Her sister would try and stay with her through the night and calm her down when she needed to even though it was not always easy. Ishita had vehemently refused to see a therapist and she kept on saying she was fine and didn't need anyone's help. But even she knew better than to think that they would just keep away. It wasn't in their DNA not to meddle that is why she loved them so much. What they did however even she couldn't have guessed that it was meant to be for her

Ishita would always be willed out of her room down to the cafeteria as a way to get some fresh air and also at least have a change of surroundings even if it was in the same hospital. She had managed to make a friend named Vidya and some time with her. It was easy to talk to her and the fact that she didn't know much about Ishita's past meant there was no judgment which Ishita liked.

They talked about everything and anything, Vidya was coming from an abusive relationship so she had similar injuries with Ishita and in a weird twisted kind of way Ishita felt like she just had to take care of her and be her friend. She shared her experience and even talked about the kidnap sometimes. Ishita always thought that if her story helped Vidya who was going through a bad phase then why not share it so Vidya always ended up knowing more than her actual family.

Ishita and Vidya were busy in the cafeteria enjoying a few snacks when Mihika came in saying

'Ishu, the Kids are here, we need to get back...''

'Oh right... ' she said as she turned to Vidya and said

'Hey we'll talk later...''

'Sure or better yet, I will come by later after my physiotherapy, such a bummer I tell you...'' Said Vidya to which Ishita chuckled and smiled before being willed away by Mihika

Meanwhile Raman had kept his promise, he would bring the kids, stay in the waiting room as they went in to see their mother. He would wait until they were done, then he would leave without even trying to see Ishita or trying to convince the Iyers to allow him go see her.

It broke him that he couldn't, they knew it, his kids knew it and he knew it but he also understood that this time he wouldn't let her get away with her craziness and this time she was going to have to find away to fight her demons, to fight for him and until that happened, he was willing to wait no matter how long that took.

'The doctor said her head injury is healing nicely but she will need a lot of physiotherapy when she gets out because she has to make sure that her knee get some movement to avoid any more nerve damage...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'I didn't ask you anything why do you always explain what is happening...'' Said Raman as he struggled to look at Mrs. Iyer

'I know you didn't but I just thought you would like to know. She is getting better...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

Raman finally managed to look at Mrs. Iyer and she could see that no matter how strong he wanted to seem, he was breaking inside and every minute he spent in that waiting room a part of him died. So every day she would come outside and wait with him until the kids were done and they left and like every day, she was doing the same even today

'I am really sorry you know...'' he suddenly said

'Sorry about what honey...'' Mrs. Iyer asked pretending not to know what he was talking about

'I promised you, I promised that I would take care of her and I didn't...'' Said Raman his voice breaking

'This is not on you Raman and you need to stop believing that it is...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'I should have...'' He tried to say bit got interrupted

'Tell me you're at fault one more time and you will get a tight slap...'' Said Mrs. Iyer as she brought her hand forward as if to slap him

'I am telling you and I also speak for her, this is not on you...'' She added to which Raman just nodded

Mrs. Iyer pulled him in and hugged him whispering in his ear

'Her love for you is still there and it will get her to you just hang in there. Don't give up on her yet...''

'I can't even if I wanted to...'' he said hugging her back before Mrs. Iyer let go

'You know she asked after you this morning...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'Really...'' Said Raman his face suddenly lighting up but the kids interrupted as they came in running

'Papa Ishima seemed much better. We even signed the cast on her leg, you should too come on...'' Said Ruhi

'Yes papa I agree, that way she will have a piece of you with her even when you're not here...'' Said Aditya but Raman just stayed there looking at them as if not knowing what to say

'Nope, my patient has to rest. Doctor's orders...'' Said Mrs. Iyers coming to the rescue

'Oh God you can be such a buzz killer...'' Said Aditya

'Yeah your mom needs rest. Sorry guys...'' Said Mrs. Iyer as she pulled Aditya in for a hug after which Ruhi followed suit

Raman then turned to them and asked them to say their goodbyes before he turned and did the same with Mrs. Iyer. Before he walked out, she called him and said

'That conversation, we will save it for tomorrow...''

'You promise...'' He said desperately

'Scouts honor...'' She answered smilingly

'Thank you, for everything...'' Said Raman before he finally walked out pulling his phone out to call someone who always gave him updates about the whole situation

Mrs. Iyer could see that he, like Ishita needed all the help and support he could get because this was just as hard on him as everyone else or even worse. But she was proud to call him her son in law, he was the most loyal human being she had ever seen and persistent and that was saying a lot given she raised Ishita

Did he leave?'' Mihika came out asking

'Yeah he did...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'I feel sorry for him. Ishu can be really stubborn Yaar I swear...'' Said a frustrated Mihika

'But he is smart so he will win this...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'Am not sure I get you'' Said Mihika

'Bringing his kids here to see her every day is him keeping a part of himself alive in her. He won't let her forget him easily and he also knows there is no way she can chase his kids away because she loves them way too much...'' Said Mrs. Iyer smilingly

'Wait I just thought he does that for the children...'' Said Mihika

'Well in a way he does but he also he knows once his kids go in there, it is a constant reminder to her that he is still here whether she wants it or not. Plus all his kids talk about when they are with her is him so...'' Said Mrs. Iyer with a smile on her face to which Mihika joined in saying

'Smart Man...'' as they walked into Ishita's room

'Did he come...'' she asked

'Yes like he does every day...'' Said Mihika

'Did he seem okay...'' Said Ishita

'Maybe next time we should let him in and you ask him all these questions.'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'No no I was just trying to be nice...'' said Ishita clearly lying through her teeth

'Yeah right...'' Said Mihika laughingly

'You keep on insisting you want this divorce and yet your face says something else every time you hear his name...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

Ishita just looked at her mother and in a disheartened manner said to her that

'Just because we want something, doesn't necessarily mean we will get to have it...''

Mrs. Iyer could see how her daughter's demeanor changed so drastically every time that divorce topic was brought up. She was clearly in love with Raman so what didn't make sense was why she thought leaving him was the right thing to do.

She came forward and put her hands around her daughter saying to her

'My God Ishu you need to find a way to start having faith in the people who love you. Whatever it is you think you did wrong, he may actually see it in a different light and move past it...''

Ishita just held her mother before she slowly slid down layingon her mother's lap. She cried not holding back any tears and just letting it all out. Mrs. Iyer wanted to ask what happened to her but she knew Ishita was never going to talk because she was not ready. She just did the motherly thing and just let her daughter cry as she comforted her staying wither until she calmed down.

Meanwhile back in the waiting room, because of the way the whole Bhalla fiasco had gone down, Abhimanyu thought it wise to only bring the Khans to see her when she was much better because he didn't want to upset her.

When Rajeev walked in the hospital with his wife and mother he was so anxious and so worried about what to expect, would Ishita recognize him, would she hate him, would she forgive him, would she scream at him, would she curse him, it was getting harder and harder to breathe every time he got closer to the door

'He y Abhi do I look okay...'' he suddenly asked which caused Abhimanyu to smile and nod saying

'You're going to meet your daughter Mr. Khan not going for a job interview...''

'Right... Sorry I am so nervous...'' he said as he let out a deep breath

'Hey, you get another chance, do not blow it...'' Said Abhimanyu before they finally made their way in

Ishita meeting her dad could have gone either way, she may have been elated to be reunited with her dad or may have hated the idea him being there and that would have affected her health and that was a chance they were not willing to take.

They all (the Iyers) agreed that Rajeev Khan had actually earned the right to see his daughter but he had to be patient and do it at a time that was right. Ishita seemed to have gotten way much better and it seemed like the right thing to do.

'Remember the guy we told you helped a lot in bringing you home...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'Yeah I do...'' Answered Ishita who had now calmed down

'Well Abhimanyu is coming with him and I want you to keep an open mind...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

Okay... Why are you talking like that...'' Said a very curious Ishita

'Look all I am asking is for you to at least be at your best behavior. Be a good host like I taught you to be...'' said Mrs. Iyer

'Mom this is a hospital, I really cannot host anyone here...'' Said Ishita

'You know what I mean. Don't be rude or anything...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'Mihika what is going on...'' Asked Ishita looking at Mihika

'Just promise me this much...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'Okay fine, I promise...'' Said Ishita who was wondering who that person was that got her mother acting like this but before she could fully assess the situation Abhimanyu walked in saying

'Ishu someone is here to see you...''

'Who is it?'' asked Ishita

'Well remember that guy we told you was instrumental inmaking sure we got you here safely...'' Said Abhimanyu

'Well he is here and he wants to see how you are doing...'' Said Abhimanyu to which Ishita curiously asked Abhimanyu to let them in

She had wanted, forgetting the way her mother looked tense at that moment, for so long to thank the man who had helped get her home safely, in fact she needed to say thanks to so many people not just that stranger but as they say, one step at a time

Ishita was sitting on the bed her mother by her bedside as she got ready to meet the stranger. When he walked in she couldn't believe her eyes, she didn't know what to say or how to act or if he even knew who she was. I mean he was really here

'Oh My God, what the...'' she murmured to which her mother answered
