CHAPTER SIXTY

Two weeksLater

The nightmares had not reduced one bit and if anything they just got worse. Her sister would try and stay with her through the night and calm her down when she needed to even though it was not always easy. Ishita had vehemently refused to see a therapist and she kept on saying she was fine and didn't need anyone's help. But even she knew better than to think that they would just keep away. It wasn't in their DNA not to meddle that is why she loved them so much. What they did however even she couldn't have guessed that it was meant to be for her

Ishita would always be willed out of her room down to the cafeteria as a way to get some fresh air and also at least have a change of surroundings even if it was in the same hospital. She had managed to make a friend named Vidya and some time with her. It was easy to talk to her and the fact that she didn't know much about Ishita's past meant there was no judgment which Ishita liked.

They talked about everything and anything, Vidya was coming from an abusive relationship so she had similar injuries with Ishita and in a weird twisted kind of way Ishita felt like she just had to take care of her and be her friend. She shared her experience and even talked about the kidnap sometimes. Ishita always thought that if her story helped Vidya who was going through a bad phase then why not share it so Vidya always ended up knowing more than her actual family.

Ishita and Vidya were busy in the cafeteria enjoying a few snacks when Mihika came in saying

'Ishu, the Kids are here, we need to get back...''

'Oh right... ' she said as she turned to Vidya and said

'Hey we'll talk later...''

'Sure or better yet, I will come by later after my physiotherapy, such a bummer I tell you...'' Said Vidya to which Ishita chuckled and smiled before being willed away by Mihika

Meanwhile Raman had kept his promise, he would bring the kids, stay in the waiting room as they went in to see their mother. He would wait until they were done, then he would leave without even trying to see Ishita or trying to convince the Iyers to allow him go see her.

It broke him that he couldn't, they knew it, his kids knew it and he knew it but he also understood that this time he wouldn't let her get away with her craziness and this time she was going to have to find away to fight her demons, to fight for him and until that happened, he was willing to wait no matter how long that took.

'The doctor said her head injury is healing nicely but she will need a lot of physiotherapy when she gets out because she has to make sure that her knee get some movement to avoid any more nerve damage...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

'I didn't ask you anything why do you always explain what is happening...'' Said Raman as he struggled to look at Mrs. Iyer

'I know you didn't but I just thought you would like to know. She is getting better...'' Said Mrs. Iyer

Raman finally managed to look at Mrs. Iyer and she could see that no matter how strong he wanted to seem, he was breaking inside and every minute he spent in that waiting room a part of him died. So every day she would come outside and wait with him until the kids were done and they left and like every day, she was doing the same even today
